I could tell you were over your time to eat by the way you were painting and talking. I'm not kidding! Isn't that weird? I was thinking, 'oh, he needs to eat.' And then you were talking about that at the end. Do you ever feel like a fish in a fishbowl with a bunch of people looking in at you? You usually talk about when you eat because it's an important part of it all. It's so great having buddies to do stuff with. The surfing was beautiful. Takes me back.
Thanks Lesley! I didn't even realize I was hungry until I was back in my car after painting 😂 I don't feel like I'm in a fishbowl since I decide what I want to share in my videos. I love sharing painting and surfing related stuff but I keep the personal stuff to a minimum since most people aren't interested lol.
You should do a painting of your moves on the board...has great colors and I think it would be a action in action...loves your work and your cool life's journey!!
Great to see you surfing Mike. Good fun. We lived by the sea in South Africa for quite a few years so my kids were great surfers. Loved the paintings. I really like what you did with the cliffs. It looks like a nice spot to paint. Your friend's painting is really good too. I'll go check his instagram. We're still stuck at home...maybe for a few more months. We just have to make the best of it. I'm back to a small daily painting. Just trying to keep myself going. I really appreciate the videos. ..thanks Mike.
Since I have started painting I have always wanted to go by Santa Cruz and do some work there. Unfortunately Covid hit and I could not go by but I am looking forward to going in the future! Such a beautiful place
This was especially beautiful. Thank you for always inspiring me to push myself further in all that I do. I am also an artist but I struggle with landscape. I always go TOO free (nah, that’s not a thing - my art is my art) my landscape usually turns to more abstract. Doesn’t mean I don’t have it hanging all over my apartment proudly! 💓✌🏼
Thanks Jacqueline! Landscape is more difficult than many people realize. I struggle with it too. Going free is good! Glad to hear you embrace your personal vision 😊🌟
To use a little "surfese", both you guys had it totally wired. When you forget to eat, you know you're having fun. Good paintings. Living the Life! btw great choice of music (as usual).
HeeeeeeeYAAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa ! Mike. That grin on your face said it all man. Great waves. Have you ever painted FIRST with a surf second ? Great way to shut a failing painting out or chillin' after a succesful one. Thanks Mike for sharing that perfect day in my book.
Haha, I was so stoked! I was nervous going out cuz those waves were big for me. Hard to tell in he video because I tried to stay near the lip. It really helped having Scott out there to show me the take off spots. Yes, it was a perfect day. I've never painted and then surfed. Maybe next time!
Hi there ... I just came across your videos a while ago ... I am so so inspired by the way you paint ... I will surely give it a try although loose painting is a challenge for me
Surfing and painting...what else can a man ask for? Oh yess...booty lol...This is one of the coolest videos I've seen. I'd move to Cal in a second if I could...what a beautiful coast (I can't complain about mine but I have no waves and I do some SUP in summer but it's not the same at all). Scott is a monster painter, but he is a lefty so he is naturally talented. Cudos to both of you because you are well into your 50's and you live like youngsters, which is what we men have to do to stay fit and mentally sound.
I'm 55, and I did try surfing when I was 19 but I didn't stick with it. I think I'm better at learning new things now than I was then. Much more focused and determined.
@@chamberlainpaintings I just turned 50 and I find things come more naturally to me now. I just wish my body was still 20 so I could have the best of both worlds!
@@Pangox I think it takes longer to get in shape when you're older, but honestly I'm in better shape than I was when I was in my twenties. I feel no physical limitations at all. Just gotta get out there and do it!
Today I watched some people blow up a rubber swim ring with a machine- slower than using their own breath. NowI just watched an artist wearing rubber gloves! 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
Not a bother at all. Steel cut oats prepared the night before by boiling for one minute, turn off heat and cover. They'll be ready in the morning. I add two or three chopped dates, cinnamon, a tablespoon of flax meal, and then microwave it. Then I mix in frozen blueberries and top with chopped walnuts or pecans.
