Plein Air Painting Being Prepared - Stefan Baumann 

Built an Andy Beck 5 lb money plein air box. the wood was heavy. My paint store box was lighter and also out of wood and could hold the same size panel. Walmart sold the 3 leg camping chair, great set for painting. Tried a 13 x 8 baking pan for a pallet with paper 12 x 8 pallet using magnets. Folded a metal lid with rubbers sheet magnet for a seal. and a table for holding brushes etc. that slides onto the baking pan. to hold. Will fit into my painting box.

It must be fun trying the different materials and pochade boxes/french easels out there before buying them. I personally own the Mabef French Easel M-23, the 9x12 Guerrilla Box, and the Utrecht Thumbbox which I like. As for the wet panel and canvas carriers I use the Artmate one. They come in different sizes for panels and canvases alike. They look like the ones from Raymar. I would have loved to try the other equipment there in the workshop. Enjoy the wonderful gathering to do something good in this world. You are lucky to be with each other creating something beautiful and adding to humanity.

I'm left handed...My whooole life through school or whatever NOBODY KNEW WHAT TO DO WITH ME! "You know you're making this hard on yourself?" "Why you doing it this way?" "How come you're brother has a curve on his bowling throw and you don't?" BECAUSE YOU'RE ALL RIGHT HANDED! Teachers and tutors outside of school my whole life. Case in point: I'm resourceful and learned to deal and it's made me a tough guy. I got a cheap crap easel from Michael's and a backpack I bend over to get my paints out and put on my pallet to hold in my hand AND I LOVE OPEN AIR PAINTING EVERY DAY!

I have a wonderful backpack that can be unfolded to a chair that even has backrest!

These ladies are so stubborn! I wish they would just listen to you! You're just trying to help them.

I think it would be a good idea to stick a poison sticker on the drink bottle with the turps in it.

I love my EasyL umbrella. Thanks for recommending that company, Stefan. And, you're right. An umbrella made a huge difference in my plain air paintings. I gotta ask you about that great carrying case for your painting knives. Did you build it or can that be bought from a company? I did a search on Google for painting knife carrying case, but couldn't find a nice wooden one. Terrific video, as always. Lots of great information. Thanks for posting these.

Do you have a list of the resource list of the equipment you have discussed here? Strada by Sirui was the tripod, was wondering more about the box you received from the artist that is no longer made. Can you supply a photo of it? My husband and I could make one as he's an awesome woodworker. Thanks!

The reason I dislike the Guerilla is because of the plywood they're constructed from, sometimes you see little voids in the wood sandwich..I really don't like that.
