@@chicken6111 Wow that's the front cam.. awesome... btw you have gotta break down your learning process for us...It's just unbelievable..just a day after the release of songs your covers are up..how do you do it man
That my friend is the beauty of the volume knob haha. At 1:58 you can see my right hand quickly turn it down to about 2 or 3, loud enough to hear the instrument through the amplifier but quiet enough to suppress the distortion almost entirely. I also tweaked it a few times after that. I toyed with this move a little before recording to try to find an optimal level that would achieve this affect. Use your volume knob, it works wonders!
hey dude, I wanted to ask you how you got the tone for this video, as well as for the Visit tutorial and the solo on Peace! I tried to comment on the Visit tutorial but comments are disabled! Sent you a message through facebook
David is correct; one way I go about learning songs is first by understanding who the artist is and how they typically play, write, etc. - part of that is being familiar with common tunings they use. Second giveaway is watching the play through closely. You can hear a lot of open ringing strings, so I match my open strings to theirs (particularly high e and B). I noticed both of those open strings were a half step below standard. Last part is analysing power chord shapes. The passage at 1:35ish is all power chords. You can tell that the chords involving the low E string are all barred notes as if it were a drop tuning, and it turns out it is :) I've been getting a lot of questions about how I learn shit so I may do a video about how to approach learning something brand new solely by ear. Thanks for watching guys!
