We ordinary citizens of this continent need to catch up. We need to embrace AU's First Ten Year Plan & Its Priority Projects. Nothing but FACTS spoken from this brilliant professor!!! It's long time voices like his are spread and amplified throughout the continent and the right actions are taken so that we and the future generations may live in a Africa where we don't need to be reminding Africans anymore what we need to do to get out of the terrible position it currently finds itself in. People like PLO Lumumba gives me hope, bless him.

Our fate as Africans resides in the hands of men and women who serve the African parliament. With all due respect, each and everyone of them knows in their hearts if they are in this to ensure that it is them who are the steering and wheels of this vehicle that they seat in to see to it that we reach our ultimate destination with urgency for the sake of us all and that of the next generations. So, with that in mind they should start thinking very hard that the suffering of every African in Africa and those in the diaspora, and the disrespect we receive around the world, as a people, would end should they realize that their position is a serious mission with an aim to change our destiny as Africans. Being a member of the Pan African parliament is not just a job where you simply go to earn a living, but a serious engagement with a vision to change the fortunes of a people in a perilous situation equal to being in a war. The war being waged against Africans is on all fronts and it’s not a joke! Wake up Pan Africanists. You have each other, just work together and not against each other and your mission would be accomplished sooner than the 2063 Agenda. Divided, we are doomed and also the next generations!

You are not looking at the right place. The church and its scholarships, educated and enabled Africans to School both home and abroad. Those who schooled abroad returned to fight for the independence of this continent. The very problem of today is greed, devilish greed, mad selfish egocentric leadership and crude tribalism. African leaders steal their countries dry and manipulate their people with tribalism and religion. Kenya and Rwanda is growing today because they have enthroned fairness over tribalism.

We should not wait for anniversaries to remind the African Union of it's duty and responsibilities to the people of Africa. We should recruit Pan Africanists like PLO Lumumba, Joshua Maponga, Mia Amor, chihombori, Julias Malema as Africa's think tank of eminent people to keep the AU parliament on its toes. Same think tank should also be facilitated to move around Our Continent especially in high schools and Colleges to sensitive the youth on the workings of the AU, agenda 2063, and the general decolonization of our youths mind.

As Egyptian, who believes in Pan-Africanism, I felt marginalized by Prof Lumumba's reference to North Africa. Why do you need to ask North Africans in particular if they are Africans?! Like in all African countries, there are people and trends who are 'westernised' or have lukewarm relation with Africa or 'charmed' by Western influence. We have our share of this trend. But this doea not make North Africans or African-Araba less Africa than other Africans. We have common challenges, common interests and similar problems. Our unity will serve us all. In all cases, I find Prof Lumumba's speeches inspiring and very beneficial, despite some of disagreements.

Ask the government and people of Tunisia why they are marginalizing Black Africans and why Morocco continuously wants to join the EU. These are fair questions
@2efs
@2efs Год назад
@@maxwellakonde8018 Thank you Maxwell for your reply. Ofcorse the questions are fair. My problem is with generalising. Giving the impression that all North Africans have no connection with Africa is unfair. Furthermore, in non-democratic states, government policies are not always representative of the will of their people. I always try to follow Prof Lumumba, despite some disagreements, I find his speeches informative but also I feel, as a North African, marginalised in his discourse and dismissed as less African.

CHINWEIZU (Author of "The West and the Rest Of Us") was absolutely CORRECT when he said that this is what BLACK AFRIKA (THE INDIGENOUS PEOPLE) of Sfrika should focus on and not put their future and DESTINY in a single organization such as the AU: "The AU is a collection of neo-colonial states that is a handmaid of imperialism........ Pan-Africanism went astray in 1958, when Nkrumah misdiagnosed the root cause of the troubles of the Black race as African disunity rather than Black powerlessness, and so made unity the paramount project rather than Black power; and when Nkrumah abandoned the Black Diaspora and embraced the North African Arabs in his unity project. He was misled by a false thesis which said that Afro-Arab continental unity, rather than Black power, was the key to solving the many problems of the Black race. As for the naive claim that unity is ever and always strength, Amilcar Cabral entered his profound dissent even during the 1960s when he warned: ―we must realize that union does not always make for strength, there are certain kinds of union which make for weakness. As we can all see today, some half century later, you can all be chained together in a neo-colonial dungeon: that is unity- OAU/AU style; a powerless unity." Chinweizu on Pan-Afrikanism
