In this video, I show how to find used aluminum cans. I show how to sort and crush them. Then, I take them to the recycling center and show how they get processed. Lastly, I show how much cash I made for my effort!

There are a few reasons collecting cans helps the environment, one main reason is because the dyes in beverage cans actually leach into the ground which is definitely not a good thing...from there they can go into water supplies, contaminate the soil ect....I turn in around 12,000 every month here in Ohio but I have access to a LOT of cans where i live and nobody else in my area seems interested in collecting them.....

In NY, crushed cans are useless. They have to be put in the machine at the supermarket, and the UPC code most be read by the laser. And it must be a brand that the supermarket sells. So, a Coke can can be inserted anywhere, but a Stop n Shop soda can must go into the machine at Stop n Shop. We get a nickel return per can. Is that system used in any other states?

In some states with the bottle deposit, you can just give them to organizations that raise the money for charity. I'm assuming they send it off to where they'd get the refund money. In this case, it was purely the scrap aluminum value rather than a deposit refund amount per can done at a recycling center.

The soup cans, Goya cans or the really hard to crush cans are steel, you got lucky they didn’t dock you for that. I had one that snuck into by aluminum cans and I got docked 5 pounds for unclean cans.

They recycling place I went to takes everything so they didn't seem to mind.

Are these cans categorized as Clean Aluminum or Dirty Aluminum at the scrapyard?

At mine they just let you dump them all. They only make the distinction between things like rims

I tried to collect Kim there is a area where people throw their cans in the ditch but only one problem there's bunch of trees in the way and I can't get to the cans I wish I could what is the best grabber to get hard places to reach for the cans because I do recycle cans for cash but I have to rinse mine out cuz I'm in the apartment life and I do little bit at time and that helps with extra money in my pocket that I did not have I need a real good long grabber what is the one do you have
