The video extensively covers the plotting of simultaneous observations - together with an adequate number of examples.
It is recommended that to understand this concept well, you make yourself comfortable with our earlier videos on following
Position Lines • Position Lines (PLs) &...
Position Circles • Position Circles (PCs)...

Sir can we use mean latitude to find d long for final position?
@MarineGurukul
@MarineGurukul 2 года назад
If during the simultaneous plotting, two meridians have been plotted by converting the d'long between them into departure, then the latitude used for converting this d'long to dep should be used to convert the dep read off from plot to d'long for final long. If not, then latitude in which dep is read off should be used. Hope I have answered your question. Best wishes

No issues. I plotted with approximate distance scale. If method is right, your answers may be more accurate. Best Wishes

Sir Why are you using the formula dlong=dep/cos lat but not the dlong=dep/cos m'lat ?
@MarineGurukul
@MarineGurukul 2 года назад
To keep it simple, have used latitude in which the departure is measured i.e. latitude of fix. M'lat is not necessary as the DR lat & Fix lat do not vary by too much & hence would not make any difference to results. Hope clear. Best Wishes

Sir, if we want to use m'lat than we have to find the m'lat for DR lat and obs lat, right? Correct me if iam wrong sir.
