I’m making a living by providing high end and large property residential snow clearing here in Wisconsin. In my 20th year of service, I run a 1 ton dual axle baby dump, 2 well maintained 3/4 ton HD trucks and several large 28”-30” snow blowers. This video reinforces to me why I’ll never take the cheap or short cuts in the winter services field. 10 years ago we had a 12” heavy snow fall overnight and 3 of our 5 trucks went down. We called in some help and they dispatched 5 trucks to help out. The amount of snow in this video is no joke. I hope you came out of it in one piece. Good luck in the future. Peace

Sounds like a good setup! This is my 2st year plowing for customers. My main income comes from spring to summer with my soft wash business, also seen on my channel. Snow is a small portion during the cold months. Definitely not for everyone. I did not expect the income its generating and am excited to see what next season brings...if I survive this one!

are you plowing on the stock tires, or maybe knobby mud tires? you seemed to be spinning a lot in areas you should not have been. maybe it was icy, or maybe look for triple mountain peak/ snow rated tires. made a world of difference for me.

What were you charging to clear a driveway? Im in Tulsa Oklahoma and i was thinking about getting my 15 year old son a self propelled snowblower so he could make some money this winter, but I have no idea what customers will pay or what is a decent price.
@YoungAmbitionYA
@YoungAmbitionYA 2 года назад
Hey Adam! Greatest thing you could do for him! I get anywhere from $475 to 675 for a season for your average driveways. 15 storms that's about $30-45/storm. Some guys get 60/storm but invoice all their clients after every storm. I hate the headache of billing so I discount my rate but get paid by everyone in full before the 1st snow.

is there a reason you dont plow with the storm ?
@YoungAmbitionYA
@YoungAmbitionYA 3 года назад
I tried initially and usually do. We were only forecasted for 8 inches or so. The storm shifted north away from NYC (this was a tropical storm off the coast that was supposed to dump all this snow in NYC) and it all came towards us. I went out early but couldn't see and there was a foot or better on the roads. DOT wasnt plowing. Every plow truck in the storm area was dispatched to fire, ems and police calls because no one could get anywhere! It was an absolute mess. I couldn't get to my accounts until 12 hours after the storm!
@allied1394

Definitely have your customers mark their driveways or you mark them with plow markers and charge them

What's up Cody. Yes I did bury it lol. The town's come through with blowers for the sidewalks and curbs. There was 3 feet of snow in one storm so you basically just put it where you can
@timhilton1271
@timhilton1271 3 года назад
If u didn't have wide tires it would plowalit better
@YoungAmbitionYA
@YoungAmbitionYA 3 года назад
What's up Tim. My tires, even though slightly wider than a dedicated snow tire (mines 10.5 wide), plow incredibly well. I plow a 1800ft uphill drive and can easily back up unplowed ground, on incline, from a dead stop. The problem here is that we had over 3ft on the ground before I could plow, so the truck just bogged down 👍

@YoungAmbitionYA
@YoungAmbitionYA 3 года назад
This storm was tough. 3.5ft in 12hrs. My route in a normal storm is about 6.5hrs. During this storm it was on and off for 3 days - DOT couldnt keep up with the roads so i could only plow in areas that were cleaned up by DOT. during the video where you see me shut off the truck its because its been working in 4x4 for hours on end and the snow was wet and at times clogging the air flow into cool the engine. when I got out to shovel at times i would just shut it off and let it rest and cool. Weve had 12 storms this winter and only that 1 gave me trouble!
