Totally loved this. What a great interview. She’s such a wonderful person. We need more folks like her that think of the younger generation, to give them opportunity and hope. Pretty sure her blood type is Determination.
Russ and Lael are two of my favorites, and it is great to see them together. Thanks, Russ, for asking Lael some great questions and giving her a chance to tell us her perspectives on so much. And thanks, Lael for making yourself available for this.
Obviously she's a monster athlete...but her honesty, smile and laugh are also so compelling. She comes across as a genuine, caring person and I'm a fan.
This is such a nice interview allowing us to have a glimpse of such a wonderful person. Lael is such an inspiration. Thanks for a great interview Russ.
I Really enjoyed that what a great interview with Lael what a inspiring woman listening to her positive outlook on life and her interesting stories. I rode across Australia in my 20s which was so much fun listening to her it made me want to get back on my bike and start going on some long rides again😊
Hey man, I found your page a couple of months ago when I found out about bikepacking and touring and I have been enjoying your content :) When I found out about Lael and saw that you had an hour long interview with her, I had to watch it ! Good job having such Amazing interview with her. She’s an inspiration
Thank you both for this - it is inspiring yet exhausting just to think about all that both of you do. Lael changed my view of biking and I am trying GD and Baja just based on her stories about those rides. Russ you have got me on a Brompton which I rode 330 miles in Spain last year on mainly dirt. Now your Cutthroat series will be valuable as I get a frame and build out with Rohloff and gen hub. Keep up the great work.
Russ one more great interview. You've found your path with PLP and I've loved watching you and it grow. You help us and the thing we all love grow as much as the wonderful people you interviewed. Thinks for stepping up and doing what you do.
The sound is great! Lael has such an incredible story, and she tells stories in the most entertaining way! She brings up an interesting point though.. you should interview Amanda Coker, no one has really interviewed her properly yet.
It's not defensive at all,@@jasonblodgett8769. What I said is factually right and that is how it should be. What the person said discriminates her. You cannot simply define someone by gender when that person is the overall record holder. To explain that a bit more clearly- what the interviewer said gives the impression that she is the best among women, but she holds the record men-women combined.
This guys unnecessary fake laugh is unbearable. Why does he laugh at everything she says when she isn't trying to say something funny? If you need to do this, get a better laugh.
Bretzky Who are you to judge someone’s laugh. I thought Russ did a great interview and Lael laughed more than Russ. Bretzky instead of judging others why don’t you start a channel that promotes cycling.
That’s the weirdest comment. I think he does a great job with the interviews and his personality comes out. Furthermore it’s sort of a dick thing to say... never stop laughing man!!
I do understand the comment. I have seen many sport podcasts and it does sound cheesy. IMO, he may be nervous trying to a good interview. He is no RR podcast that is a fact. Probably needs to polish a little and better choice of words to. IMO, he needs to comment a little after the answers, not just ask question after question. Make the interview more of a casual talk, and ride the interview...
