Just watched this video for 2nd time. Suggestion, wrap your water heater with a water heater blanket. Special made for different size water heaters. You would be surprised how much energy you save and how long the water remains hot without turning on. Just a thought‼️👍 Vinny 🇺🇸

Been a plumber for 12 years and while there's lots to say about code and other things here, the part where you realized your water main was 1" and your fitting was 3/4, I laughed. We know the pain hahaha.

Man, I can't say how much I appreciate videos like this. None of y'all that share stuff like this even have to, and yet you do. I aim to be building my cabin within the next 4-5 years, but I'm the type that does homework for the projects I do over longer periods before I start. That blowout box is a great idea, and one I'm hanging onto! We don't get the kinds of winters that y'all do down here in the Southeast, but when it's bad it is very much still bad. I've considered going PEX all the way. I didn't see any filter system set up. It looks like the water just comes straight from the well to the faucets (for cold anyway). I'd assume there's filters somewhere along the way? I grew up on well water and we had a double or triple filter system under the house between the well source and everything else.

One line in to ur home then come off that and have lot less lines to freeze on yeah i dont see how all them lines under the house are not going to freeze its not heated underneath the house is it ???

VERY WELL THOUGHT OUT. MAY I SUGGEST YOU INSULATE THE CRAWL SPACE UNDER YOUR CABIN. I WOULD USE SHEETS OF HARD BOARD INSULATION. COMES IN VARIOUS THICKNESSES. ATTACH IT TO THE INSIDE OF THE EXISTING PLY THAT IS THERE. TAPE ALL THE JOINTS AND IT SHOULD ELIMINATE ALL FUTURE FREEZE UPS. VERY IMPRESSIVE PLUMBING JOB, I LIKE WHAT YOU ARE DOING. Vinny

If there's a next time, remember to remove the aerators from your faucets as part of your flushing procedure. All that gunk plugged up the fine mesh of the bathroom sink and probably clogged the cartridge on your kitchen sink which may not be unpluggable. Everything else looked great. Nice hine made manifold. I use the pex that takes a pex ring and a stretcher that stretches the end of the pipe then you simply push on to the fitting. In a couple minutes it shrinks back and is water tight. That crimper looked brutal.

Just on a health note yes I am a nurse for like 40 years now and a natural healer and autistic savant noticed a patterns and tucker of the animals like kind of like Snow White lol but anyway, I know that the most calm cool collected people with no matter what kind of horror they’ve endured if you do things right from the beginning and you’re taught to have self-respect and respect for what you’re doing and just the inner sanctity and peace in your brain of doing the way you’re supposed to do in the Order of the universe, the normal way, the natural way, whatever instead of being an ass or just dropping things and starting over and constantly sharding more and more freaking fires if you will, but not having any responsibility or refusing to acknowledge that you had anything to do with it kind of thing it is so bad for this is what’s wrong with everybody now everybody hates themselves so bad And they’re so wound up most of the time, and I’ve almost caught myself in this way a couple times believing what people say about me, or have literally beaten into me and then I remember my true Sell wait a minute if I let myself go and not take care of myself, or let myself die or whatever whatever all of the horrible people I’ve done to me a whole life I got nothing to say about them. OK I’m in love dad is more than impeccable, perfection and beauty and for a reason I love the way you did the boxes and all the things to protect all your good little parts and also so that you could find them when something needs to be fixed so much easier Easy Peezy works smart and not harder but also the perfection of it is just and also I really love the inside of that box with the red and the blue and all the individual manifolds if you will pieces because it reminds me of electrical and I like all my electrical stuff even the supplies and all my tools and everything has to be perfect and wrapped up perfectly, and putting his own separate little bags and cases from all my other things because I don’t want them touching all the dirty engine tools they can’t share cooties lol and that’s how you keep things nice and not flammable and your hands clean when you’re working on a clean thing you’re inside the car with the interior and don’t want to ruin that class car especially Kind of thing it’s so easy to not know that your hands were dirty because somebody else didn’t take care of the tools and clean them up right and put them away correctly and they didn’t use the fast orange yummy yummy yummy non-promised so hard to find that stuff anymore as I love it it makes me want to eat it just looking at I love that smell. There’s everything is going to try to reach a balance or a normal or whatever which is why it’s so hard ladies and gentlemen, when you have a horrible health problem and your body is attacking you and trying to kill you or you’re overweight and your body is trying to smother you, no matter how good you are and how hard you try your body is going to try to get back to what it knows is normal or you know homeostasis and that is a normal brain body reaction so you are not bad when or not a failure we have to just every day try our best to be as healthy and is good to ourselves that we can and that’s all we can do but just remember the universe will always try to find it or what it’s used to be what’s called the tuit and even if it’s good for us or bad for us it’s still always going to try so that’s why nothing is ever perfect and you don’t want it that way anyway right because then you have water not going downhill in a closed system, but it looked so beautiful I just would like to know if you remember that 25 years down the line when you can’t figure out what’s wrong with his problem ha ha

Damn, now that I had another look at your manifold at section I guess maybe you don’t need as much of an open area I’m sure you still need to open air but maybe all those little different sections in the manifold kinda give way to quicker equilibrium of the water and the air in each of the little hoses and so maybe you can have your just downward downhill gravity drain ifnot all the way perfect but at least you’ll have a little bit of it because of the manifold partitions, correct

Would it be easier to put on the poly pipe by quickly brushing it over with the flame of a blowtorch before making the fittings as it might be a bit smoother to insert the fitting while it’s warm and slightly more flexible

Do you have more blue hoses than you do Red in your little manifold set up the cold probably out numbering the hot as far as the avenues of escape gangster, old school hood activity going on in the water system lol

OMG!!! I was laughing my A$$ off when you discovered your supply was 1 inch and not 3/4. You must be my twin. I can't tell you how many runs to the big box store I have done due to my misscalculations. I think the best part of your videos are that you are human and not afraid to show it. So many You Tubers edit that stuff. You dont. Keep up doing what you are doing. You are awesome. One comment of advice, when gluing PVC, give the fitting 1/4 turn to ensure good bond and no leak. Straight on could create a leak channel.

I’ve noticed you use knee pads a lot and I wanted to tell you that there’s a pair of pants carhartt offers called steel series, they have a built in knee pad protection on the pants that you can get for working indoors on outside on dirt or concrete. I use them and I love them a lot maybe you could buy a pair and try them out to see if they work as good as your knee pads

Well, the hot water first has to go to your shower because it’s probably closest to your do you have an on-demand water heater it’s gotta go through that first before it gets to the other places if you have it set up the way most people do

I don't know why people still use PVC for plumbing water as they become brittle and break easily. We found PVC piping in our house after we bought it. However, we replaced all of our former PVC and galvanized (half clogged) water pipes with PEX piping and now no more problems!

Water follows the path of least resistance, all you did by opening those hose bibs was flush those specific lines. Good practice to flush your connections where they tie in to get rid of any air or junk in the pipes. You could have also looped a bypass with a shutoff between your closest and furthest fixture one hot one cold with a point to bleed it out to truly give yourself a way to easily get the air out of the pipes below your cabin. Those aerators on faucets come with specific tools to take them off, supposed to be tamper proof and all that. Still not too bad of a job for doing it on your own!

I saw you struggling when you were using your crimping tool and then i was thinking how happy i am having the battery operated tool. lol

Probably not the place to ask this, but where abouts in Washington is your cabin and how much did it cost roughly? I live in oregon and want to find a good off grid place to move.

Unless your water supply line from the well is below frost line or that well shit off valve under the concrete lid also has a low point drain fitting you still will get freezing water in that line. Reason is water in the pipe needs to be replaced with air. If air cant get into the well valve side it wont come out at your new low point drain.
