I have a double socket under my sink. I moved it up to the top of the cupboard, at least it won't be sitting in water if something leaks. Electricity above water seems more logical to me anyway!
I cannot believe that a qualified electrician put that double socket in that cupboard resting on the bottom of the unit, especially underneath a sink, gives good sparks a bad name, anyway great content as usual.
Great stuff as always Mark. For the company i used to work for we used to do a lot of commercial kitchens, might just need to check the spec of the oven, we had to use High temperature ABS or copper for the drain on them. Look forward to seeing the finished result!
Hi Mark, another great film thank you, under the sink looks good now, just needs the electrician to sort the double socket out. Have a great remainder of the week, take care, regards Chris. 👍👍👍
Thanks for that, Mark. The van’s looking very tidy. I bet you found all sorts of stuff that went into hiding the minute you wanted it for a job. Are we going to get a three hour special when you tackle the lock up?
the amount of double sockets i've had under sinks that have had leaks leading to the whole consumer unit tripping is ridiculous, especially in new builds that have a good 18 months before all the plastic crap starts to go
Another great video Mark. That drainage looks a challenge, couldn’t you get some Munsen ring fittings with the rods and base and glue them to the stainless steel or use double sided tape? That box of ceramic cartridges you have do they do kitchen & bath taps and where did you purchase them from? Take care buddy and looking forward to the next episode 🙂👍
Hi Mark, watched your video and noticed that there was no trap on your mates kitchen condensate wast pipe as it's connected to the rest of the waste system. Don't know if you picked up on this or not. Keep up the good work 👍
Get some rubber lined clips on metal rods for that plastic pipe and rivet them onto a little bit of stainless plate. 😊 Oh and tell your cust9mer to wash up before you arrive next time 😂
There’s no regs saying you cant put a socket there but as an electrician myself I tend to put mine 100mm off the bottom and drill a 75mm hole out directly underneath it to allow the plug tops to fit up through but also if there is a leak the water can exit down that hole and not come into contact with the outlet. It’s more about common sense than following regs tbh. There’s so many regs that are fine but in reality you wouldn’t ever do.
Nothing wrong with a socket in a cupboard but that one IS wrong as too low down . no room for any kind of moulded plug to fit into it as you discovered Schoolboy error from the sparks on that one should have known that lol
No issue having a socket under the sink, (aside from putting it so low, that’s a rookie mistake) More chance of a socket getting wet above the worktop…. Unless there’s a leak, in which case, the leak is the issue 😂 but the rcd will do its job and turn the power off in (usually) about 28 milliseconds 😃
Water going uphill?! As it’s just condensate from the fridge couldn’t you install a little condensate pump and thin plastic tubing like for aircon units and avoid all that pipe work around the units etc?
Don't let the water authority see this video. Especially your friends kitchen. No grease trap fitted for combi oven or potwash sink. Unless he has external 😊 They're cutting down on it mark. I know alot of commercial kitchen being threatened with fines now.
Socket in cupboard under sink is wrong on many levels and at that height some plugs wouldn't fit into it especially the ones with thicker flexes. Also a leak could easily leave it sitting in water.
