Harbor Freight has 2pack of long handle needle nose pliers that work amazing for this. Im constantly getting things out on rental prop. Hardest is always coin turned up sideways along the side. Work daily with my son leaning the trade, couldn't be happier.

Get a 1/4 inch bit for your impact to free it up then most of the time it’s faster to flip it over and shake it out goes faster than digging around

Hi Chuck, As a landlord, I used to un Jam at least one disposal a week before I started removing therm permanently. All badger 5’s. If i get a call for a jammed disposal, I bring in the following: Allen tool tool that comes with it, Long needle nose pliers to grab object, long flat head screwdriver when the object gets stuck between the plate and vertical edge. As for the plumbing trade, I agree. My plumbing education is OJT and one gas heat class that I took. The company I work for is starting to outsource our engineering work.

This is perfect for an inspection camera to get a real look down there. 👍👍

Hey Chuck,if you don't mind a suggestion why don't you cut a piece of PVC pipe that will fit in that drain opening so that you can keep that drain skirt out of the way and will allow you to see down into the drain without that drain skirt getting in the way and blocking your view?

CB-1 I have a tech tip for you. Stop by Home Depot and pick up the crescent double jointed needle-nose pliers if I remember right there about 14 in. Long it's a must-have for plumbers I use mine all the time on garbage disposals it makes life ten times easier. And there goes another satisfied customer. Peace brother

Not all plumbers are as blessed as you are to have sons that like the trade and aren't afraid to get their hands dirty Chuck so plumbers are always looking for helpers.Books are great but nothing beats hands-on experience.It pains me to say that today's youth is nothing at all like the youth in my day.To give you an example of what I mean consider this,teens see me picking locks open and what do you think is the first thing they ask me?The teens that see me picking locks open right away want to know if I can teach them lock picking then catch a major attitude/look at me as if I grew a second head because my reply to them is that if they want to learn lock picking to break into people's homes they're better off just using pry bars and hammers because it will cost them a lot less in time and money invested on lock pick tools and studying and practicing lock picking.God bless you and yours my Brother,be well and stay safe.
