Molly Miller (Jason Mraz/Molly Miller Trio) checks out our new Plumes overdrive pedal, and uses it to add dimensional texture to her already huge playing. Plumes Small Signal Shredder adds more midrange and presence, with the ability to use three different clipping modes via a 3-way toggle.
Clipping modes:
1. Symmetrical LED clipping - More Crunch and Compression.
2. No clipping - Wide open OpAmp drive for clean boost.
3. Asymmetrical silicon diode clipping - More transparency with a loose feel.
Level: This controls the output volume.
Gain: This controls the amount of drive.
Tone: More bass to the left, more middles in the middle and more treble to the right.

I just picked up a Plumes to use on bass. It works well on bass too. Sounds better than most overdrives that are specifically made for bass, in my unprofessional opinion.

Very cool demo. Would have liked it to be even longer and show some more combos, but it was good for what it was. Super good playing. It's interesting what she said about the tone knob. This pedal I exclusively use below 12 o' clock, it's probably the only pedal I do that for. I either use mode 2 at high gain and low level, or mode 3 low gain higher level. I'm not a huge fan of compression in my low-gain overdrive so I don't use mode 1. Amazing pedal, probably the most versatile pedal I've ever owned.

Got mine yesterday, it's awesome Plumes is so underrated. Most reviews don't make justice to how great it is. Great gain, Eq, ..yes, it cuts low freqs, too.This pedal is very inspiring because it has a huge tonal range.

Great playing. I'm sure that tone works great with an ensemble, but it really comes through as rough and nasal as a solo instrument through even decent speakers. A band demo with that tone might showcase the usefulness of the pedal better.

Is the volume on mode 3 lower than mode 1? with the same knobs settings if I switch to 3 from 1 I loose some volume

You honestly need to try it for yourself in person. I run mine through a Marshall DSL 40 combo and a Revv D20 head and it sounds epic. It's really an amazing pedal and I love that the entire range of the tone control is useable. Just depends on your setup. I play Music Man Valentines and Strats with mine and the tone is sweet. I kinda agree that her tone in the beginning of this vid comes across as a bit harsh. So hard to judge because everyone on youtube captures their sounds in so may different ways. :)

I think it would cut through a live mix very well and that “harsh”-ness probably gets rounded out by the bass and kick while adding a unique tonal texture
