Plymouth Duster Update 

I had a 74 Gold Duster 318 4 speed. White bucket seats. I end of dropping a 340 in back in 1981. Great looking vehicle. Great video

I would put bucket sets in the Duster and just hop it up some.

I'm not sure about the laws were you live? But here in Arkansas if you have a bill of sale for vehicle, and it has been parked on your property for over 90 days, you can go down to the DMV and get the paperwork for a salvaged title. And send it in & have you a clear new title mailed to your house within 6 weeks! Check into it where your at, & see what you come up with?

SIR my prayers is with you.....you should know when you buy a car you get tiltle and id make sure seller os on title then have owner sign tiltle then you go to courthouse pay for title transfer then title come in mail then you fix car when it youe name then you insure it then get inspect then get plates then drive it

You can try to apply for a bonded title.

Gotta love a slant 6! These old engines were great, and not difficult to work on. Head gasket should be cheap as is the water pump.

Nice duster man, the body looks pretty good. Hopefully you get that title squared away. Check out my 73 duster and My dad's 70 duster.

DEPENDING ON IF YOU OVERHEATED IT & IF SO, HOW BAD? A REBUILD ISNT ALL THAT BAD! YOU CAN DO IT YOURSELF!!! SIMPLY ORDER STANDARD SIZE ROD & MAIN BEARINGS, & A NEW HEAD GASKET & NEW HEAD BOLTS!!! THERE ARE MANY ONLINE VIDEO'S ABOUT HOW TO RESURFACE A HEAD YOURSELF BY SIMPLY DRAGING THE HEAD BACK & FORTH ACROSS SANDPAPER THAT IS GLUED DOWN TO SOMETHING THAT IS PERFECTLY FLAT, THEN INSTALL NEW HEAD GASKET, NEW HEAD BOLTS & NEW OIL, FILTER, & COOLANT!!! WOULD ALSO BE A GREAT TIME TO BUY NEW PISTON RINGS, A BALL HONE & RE-HONE THE CYLINDERS & INSPECT THE PISTONS THO, IT MIGHT NOT NEED IT!!!

If that thing really got soaked with water (meaning flooded)....you should not put-off removing the seats/carpet and padding and give it a thorough cleaning with Comet 1st, and then hot water (quality dish soap)wash the hell out of it (Rockers,sills,etc. and all hollow areas) to prevent corrosion...because once that old moisture-laden with sodium in the dirt,etc. breaks down the paint/primer....you'll have a worthless rust-bucket. if your sills and rockers don't drain quickly when water get in them;take a flat bladed screwdriver and open-up the metal (on the bottoms)between the spot welds so water/moisture can't collect,squirt some cheap bed-liner spray where the screwdriver accidentally makes shiny metal . Most American cars from that era did not have self-draining: sills,rocker panels,etc. like the Imports. (look at an Import) the sills and rockers usually have pronounced miniature drain holes stamped in the sills and rockers, A-Pillars,Cowl area,etc.

1ST OFF, Even if you never get the title,(which I hope you do obtain the title!!!) You could strip the interior, trunk, inner fender wells, & everything & clean that car b4 it starts to rust in places you cannot see!!! You must also get underneath of it & clean the underside!!! just like trucks that go mudding, IT WILL RUST OUT!!!!!! Anyways, you could allways use the car to build a drag car! build it for a race track, if all else fails!!! I also bet that you want to stay with a mopar drivetrain but, summit did a whole article on the chevy sb 400 & boring it .030 over to a 406. Now, the REAL POWER COMES WHEN YOU USE A STROKER CRANKSHAFT & SHORTER PISTON RODS BECAUSE IT CAN THEN SPIN FASTER! OURS USED A WEISGEL STROKER CRANK, BALANCED & FORGED! FORGED RODS, AMBER LIGHTWEIGHT PISTONS 11-1 COMPRESSION, THE CAMSHAFT WAS FROM SUMMIT, IT WAS AN OFFROAD, HYDROLLIC ROLLER CAM! I FORGET THE LIFT & DURATION! AFTERMARKET ALLUMINUM HEADS, PORTED & POLISHED, ROLLER ROCKERS! HOLLEY 750 DBL PUMPER W/MANUAL SECONDARIES, REBUILT TH400 TRANS W/ NEW VALVE BODY, SHIFT KIT, 3,500 STALL, 373 GEARS IN A 79 Z-28 & SHE SCREAMS & HAULS!!! BEATS NEW VETTES & MANY OTHER CARS, IN AN 1/8 MILE EASY!!! SO, if you can find a 73 or older chevy sb 400 with a 4.0125 stroke, GRAB IT UP QUICK!!! SIMPLY BY BORING IT .030 OVER GIVES YOU 750HP & TORQUE, USING ALL STOCK INTERNALS EXCEPT THE PISTONS & RINGS! EVERYTHING ELSE IS JUST MORE POWER!

I BET THE RADIATOR HAS DIRT BLOCKING ITS FINS, SO AIR CANNOT TRAVEL THREW IT... ALSO, THAT WATER PUMP NEEDS REPLACED! I BET, A NEW WATER PUMP, & NEW HEAD GASKET & YOUR FINE!!!
