typically on vacation i go pure calisthenics mode. dips between bar stools, wall assisted handstand pushup, pullups on a tree, sissy squats or lunges while holding luggage ect. works well enough to keep me feeling fresh

I also walk my ass off on vacations walking everywhere on top of stuff like that. My goal with vacation is to just get a break from my sport and job in the meantime as a physical and mental break.

I resonate w vacation take. I like to workout so not working out would make it harder to enjoy vacation.

For me, it’s more the mental side of it. If I don’t do any exercise I wouldn’t be able to enjoy those things on vacation that I don’t typically do, like eat a little unhealthier or have a few drinks. Call it guilt, call it whatever you want, but all I would think about is how I haven’t exercised instead of just relaxing

Quick Question about your Squat, mine look very similiar. Especially at the end my upper body falls forward, no matter the bracing I do. I always felt like it might be an issue, although my back never hurts. Are you fine with the way your squat looks?

Do you find those pads that you put down on top of the concrete to jump on reduces the impact on your joints? Have been doing all my plyos on concrete the last few months and have noticed my knees getting very sore compared to when I used to do most of my jumping on grass

Love this point, mark rippetoe also talks about how Most people shouldn’t “Train” like genetic freaks and think it’s the best way to train.IE using professional athletes as examples

Life goes on after vacation. I can enjoy vacation way more knowing it won't set me back for 2-3 weeks if I bum around and do nothing. Just doing something makes a huge difference and puts me in a much better mood lol

Sir how we should do fast eccentrics. Should I pause at the top concetric then drop fast to eccentric or it should be continuous?

18:40 why do you think you’re dunking ability is going down? I train every single day of the week except one day I stay out of the gym completely. When I say train I mean basketball skills to exhaustion. Also, I train two days a week, full body legs, one day upper body another. Then I sprinkle plyos in throughout the week. I never lift on the days I play, which is Wednesdays. because I am limited with the competition I have I treat open gym like actual basketball practice. I play the whole games. I don’t sit at all and I try to play through exhaustion. Lifting legs or doing boxing or MMA would just zap me before hand so I stopped. Do you think your jumping might improve if you dial back the strength training and do more plyos??? I have been struggling with the philosophy of more rest and more intensity like Mike mentzer vs being in the gym every day of the week and doing something.

Who’s the strongest athlete you’ve worked with? What do you think was the biggest factor that contributed to their strength ?
