This is great guys, reveals and Q&A....what else can we ask for,let me participate in the Q, how do you evaluate when something needs to be replace in case scratch or dints appear magically after everything was check perfect from shop, and is now on site, do you fix stuff like that or is just replace...

I would be interested in a site visit to your finisher to see what materials and processes he uses. It's imperative that his quality of work matches yours, and it's apparent that it does. Curious also what equipment they use. Just a thought.

I'm looking forward to more on the exposed plywood edge doors. As a non-builder, I'm curious, are these solid, and if so, was there any discussion on making it semi-hollow-core (maybe hollow out that center piece of plywood)? It seems the weight would be significant with no real value added...unless weight itself adds some perceived value.

Greater mass lends itself to sound deadening, especially if there's a brush strip around the door frame to reduce air movement. I frequently replace hollow core doors with solid fire doors to reduce noise between bedrooms.

I can’t see the weight being a real issue. It is significant work to remove all that for no real payoff but you would get that hollow sound that isn’t desirable

@@John28530 I did a quick Google search on density - you are correct. Plywood is only slightly heavier than softwood. One room in our house has MDF sliding closet doors - - MDF runs 2x of softwood. I envisioned the solid plywood being more like MDF but it's almost the same (and naturally stronger) than softwood. Good choice.

Ever since your first video with the vacuum bag now every time I do a press I wish my bag had a zipper! Waiting for it to wear out so I can get a new one with a zipper...

Do NS supply all your power tools or do you have to buy them yourself ?

I noticed the backer panel in the vac bag didn’t have “air channels” in it. Obviously I know it’s main purpose is to avoid getting glue on the bag, but does not having air channel prevent airflow in anyway? Would it work better with channels in that auxiliary platen as well?

How do you guys source your edge banding? I have trouble as a consumer getting edge banding from the same mill producing my plywood (or at least getting my hands on something close enough).

Honestly rip your own. Bring a scrap of the plywood to the limber yard to match color and find a matching color then rip your own

Why are they wearing dog leashes 12:44

Mic cords. Similar to dog leashes so I can understand the confusion. The Q&A is live on Instagram and requires an extra mic for each speaker and the cords are short.

Are you using a straight up lamello (biscuit joiner) or the lamello zeta for site work etc.? So nice to see real deep tissue craftmanship talk. Amazing channel.
