Nice work! We do all of our boatwork ourselves and are convinced that at this point our body composition ust be at least 90% fiberglass! Best of luck with your projects. Fair widns!
Impresionante / perfect, I had never seen something homemade like this. Extremely nice. Video is from 9 months ago but I just got here. So Im new. 😎💙🇵🇷♥️🌎🦅
Great video, thanks for posting and sharing with us. Just one comment. Boat building is FUN. And building one goes faster when the” hands on hips syndrome” stops to admire the work done. Great job on the boat!
Brilliant lads👌 that's coming from a boat and coachbuilder in UK about to do my 5th homer build, this one my son is learning while I do it and it will be his boat but I haven't told him that yet or even told anyone that other than my missus and on here under my new profile which he doesn't know is me. I bet he sees this vid somehow though and might even read this comment. If he does I will know 🤣
😂😂😂 welcome in morocco bro you can open a mini boat building facility here cheaply and open a youtube channel for it and i m sure moroccans and all the world will start to follow you
For thousands of years, man has built boats from wood and made all the geographical discoveries on these wooden boats. That's why we didn't come up with anything new :-))
The boat is built from marine plywood, full plans can be purchased by sending an email to unikyachts@gmail.com, study plans are available on unikyachts.com. Complete plans contain files for CNC cutting of all yacht parts, which significantly reduces construction time, after cutting out the parts, they just need to be installed and glued.
It must have taken them months. The video just shows it fast. The design itself is a big thing. You have to maintain center of gravity. Frame has to be moulded or cut precisely, then the outer hull. Not just that in a boat or ship things have to placed ao that tye weight is balanced properly. Otherwise it will topple to one side. Thankfuly nowadays cad cam and cae will show simulation. Olden days they actually weighed things and balanced it physically.
During assembly, only commonly available hand or power tools were used. And about the guys, you’re right; sometimes several people work, but did I have the right to fire them for the entire duration of the video recording? :-)))
Well done. When I first started watching I thought “why do they have a mime working on their boat”? The overalls, striped shirt threw me…maybe a little more time in the sun for that guy…😂

Yes, several Lion 550 boats have been built, one of them can be seen on the Instagram of the guys from California instagram.com/channel_islands_provisioners/, Lion 900 will be built after the victory, the war with russia ruined all plans
Not a bad idea, look up an old book by Glen L, Building Plywood Boats. I grew up in the boatyards and still active sailor. I built many boats. You can do it
Hi! Impressive lines and building simplicity! Do you sell CNC cutting plans? I am from Brazil and the import cost may be prohibitive...to my small pocket... :-)
The whole process of building the yacht Lion 800 and Lion 870 with a lot of photos is described in detail on the website unikyachts.com/en/lion-800-construction/ unikyachts.com/en/lion-800-construction-part-2 unikyachts.com/en/lion-800-construction-part-3/ unikyachts.com/en/construction-lion-800-part-4/
Yes, you can buy plans and files for cutting all the details of the boat on CNC, you can pay by bank transfer or PayPal, To purchase, send a request to unikyachts@gmail.com
How much would it cost to a just like but a little longer more coastal with a speed type motor for me to live on permanently some energy on board... Could someone get back to me and letw know please .... ?

with cnc and waterjet cutting you can use reclaimed wood and make your own wood honeycomb cores and ply with fiber and bio based epoxy. don't promote forest destruction as wood crops, there are hemp, flax fiber also. thank you for showing us, very good up to date design and construction
Yes, hemp gives several times more cellulose than wood, and this is an excellent material, hemp is an annual plant, every year you can get new raw materials without cutting down forests that have been growing for centuries. I want to build a boat from this material, unfortunately it is not yet available to me. I will be glad and will support if someone will undertake the construction of a boat from this material.
@@UNIKYACHTS also nanocellulose fiber can be extracted from pine needles or any plant and has similar specs than e-glass, and this extraction process produce lignin as byproduct that can create biobased epoxy. also i think when producing hemp they chop all the plant (what creates costs for blade replacement) instead separating fibres from the plant trunk and making wool for fibre with the rest. also glass fiber and basalt fiber come from silica and basalt rock respectively, what is quite abundant, and they can be melted with concentrated solar parabolic or heliostat and are fairly easy to produce even in a a home melting furnace and arduino fiber spinner
Mate I appreciate your input and your knowledge as I am a boat builder in UK on my 5 build for myself and this time I'm looking to build something similar to older mayland 14/17ft fisher so my boy can learn it and it's his boat despite the fact I'm not telling him that yet, that's the suprise he gets at the end of it. I will not chose materials based on how green or any other advice based on "saving the planet" I build small boats for a living for people who live a small footprint life same as what I do here in Scotland. Its the big builders and manufacturers you need to be saying this too as they have volume that makes a difference. Plus it's OK saying "use such and such" but these modern tree hugger boats fall apart and get utterly humiluated in the North Sea up by me. They need rebuilt every 3-5yr. No, I'm sorry, I won't be teaching my kids to make a disposable boat. It's dangerous for a start.
@@lastaccountbannedfortalkin1449 it's plywood what roots without maintenance and proper epoxy layer, you must read some boat insurance blogs and forums about the reality of any boat construction. it's also the "little people"'s egoprojects who creates most environmental devastation and industrial waste because big industry work by efficiency however their toxic resources and processes. and i'm a bloke of the people and i support diy production, but in coordinated little hubs with sharing ownership, not 20 full equip garage shops producing a wardrobe once a while. that little boy you are talking can collect discarded polypropylene (which floats) pallets and remelt them to make planks joined with plastic welding, a boat that can last 100 years without rooting or corrosion, only by isolate them from sun degradation with a proper outer layer with aluminum foil and epoxy and veneer wood if you like. there are 6000 million people like you, don't forget that.
Keep in mind that this is just the tip of the iceberg. The hull is roughly 1/3 of the work. Instead, put some money in the bank every month for a year or two, then buy a used boat.
@@UNIKYACHTS Yes. That's true. It's a lot of work. But....you can start using the boat immediately, while your friends are toiling away for years, building their boats.
@@ericwelsh4853 I know many people who build boats, including mine, some build a boat for several months and go sailing without waiting for the paint to dry. And others build the same boat slowly for several years. The difference is that some people enjoy boating and other people enjoy building. ;-)
We use only epoxy resin, it is a material of organic origin, such materials are widely used in dentistry. In addition, we have a very good exhaust ventilation system in the workshop.
I have been designing and building boats for over 30 years, during which time a very large number of boats have been built and launched. On February 23 we set sail and were ready to set sail. But on February 24, at 4 o'clock in the morning, the bombing began, Russia attacked Ukraine ... But this story will definitely continue.
A yacht is a boat for pleasure. A dinghy can be a yacht by the traditional definition. The usage of the word in America is assotiated with grandios boats such as mega yachts, but in that instance the modifier mega is necessary.
We finished building the boat and set sail for the first time on February 23, 2022, and a few hours later the war began, russia attacked Ukraine. After victory in the war we will film a sequel to the film.
A yacht (/jɒt/) is a sailing or power vessel used for pleasure, cruising, or racing. There is no standard definition, though the term generally applies to vessels with a cabin intended for overnight use.
This boat is built, on February 23 we finished all the work and raised the sails. And a few hours later, at 4 am on February 24, we woke up from explosions and the sounds of Russian bombers flying overhead ... The video will definitely be after the victory of Ukraine.
