Thank you Mr PM and your wonderful team for putting the mice in their proper places and letting us know that no one is above the law - no leaders, their relatives nor ordinary citizens. Mr LKY clearly stated only two options - demolish or gazette the house. The fact that he bequeathed it to you ( the son he trusted most to decide its fate ) and not the siblings shows that he wanted you to have the last say. Why are your siblings not honouring their father's wishes and instead try to assassinate their eldest brother's character and rally the public to go against your aspirations and wishes? Surely they know the special condition that came with ownership - the possibility of conservation. Mr LKY had publicised his wishes on how this could be done : strengthen its foundation, renovate it and maintain the privacy of the occupants (his family). At no time did he say ignore the 'cracks on the walls'. We must and can honour the second part of Mr LKY's wish for the house as a private dwelling - for his children and descendants to enjoy. Is Dr LWL the only child to live in it? The potential to put the land to good use is enormous. Don't waste it.
I am still with the majority of Singaporeans who wishes that the honorable PM raises above his siblings, in respect, filiality and piety. Honor the late Mr. Lee's wishes. For more is to be lost if you do not do so. I am afraid that the essence of these three values might be lost if not shown by the country's leader.
Singaporeans, after viewing the 2 days of parliament session. I think at the very least, all of you should take home the message that the SG gov's integrity is intact. Some might be unhappy about LHL (well you know the 30%) but pls put all things in perspective, the 2 sessions done by LHL and his team is NOT to tell the singaporeans that LHL is right and his siblings are wrong. No that is not the case, the objective of the 2 sessions is to show singaporeans that the SG gov and SG PM are doing things with clear principles put up as "rules" and "code of conduct" of governance. SIngaporeans do not need to side with LHL or LWL/LHY. Nor do they need to justify either of their take on the house. But all singaporeans have the right to assurance that the PM of the day is doing his duty with the correct principles and adhering to the expected code of conduct. The PM is answerable to all singaporeans when anyone accused him of misconduct of any kind with the capacity as SG PM. LHL cannot please every single singaporean, but he must be accountable to each and every one of them. You can decide for yourself whether the house should stay or not and whether LHL is right or wrong in his personal capacity related to the house, but please leave Singapore and her reputation out of it by not accusing the PM without concrete proof. You can say LHL is a dishonorable son, a bad elder brother.....but please do not say Singapore's PM is abusing his power without strong basis.
