Nice video and work however just to be clear the first Porsche to receive red calipers was the RoW 1992 Turbo S Lightweight followed by the 1994 turbo with the big 928 calipers painted red with the feeds and bleeds swapped. The 993 Turbo also had the same front brakes.

had the calipers on my 87 carrera rebuilt by PMB and was very impressed with the quality, turn around time, and customer service. May be sending the 996TT calipers in now that I see how that process is done

Love these “behind the curtain” videos! I wish PMB did core exchanges. There was a company that used to do it for Z cars. You would order a set of calipers painted the color you wanted, pay an additional “core charge”, get your new calipers, send back the old ones and have your “core charge” refunded upon receipt by the vendor.

Hey, i actually work here so I can shed some insight. We do core exchanges at PMB on steel calipers. Early 911s up to the g model, 914s, 356s, stuff like that. We don't do cores on aluminum calipers because aluminum can vary too greatly in condition.

What's the average turn around time for a rebuild? You said 3-5 days in the video. Is that from time of receipt or once the work starts?

The 3-5 day time is from the day they go into receiving to the day they leave shipping. It's a really fast turn around. Painted calipers or specialty stuff can take longer though.

What do they do if the piston or the bore is scored? These are pretty, but don’t seem address wear of pistons or slides?

@@robertlittiken394 we've got tons of extra nose/back sections and new pistons if the customer's caliper is functionally damaged usually steel calipers don't have substantial bore damage unless something really bad has happened to the calipers in the past. On aluminum calipers they can be epoxy treated to stop leaks in the bore
