There is a 1 in 1000 chance of recruiting Kecleon, at best. We managed to befriend them anyway! This vid features how I prepared for the horde, cool tips, and the footage of me befriending a lizard.
Thanks for enjoying my video, everyone! I'm really pleasantly surprised that the announcement of PMD remakes brought you here (via algorithm shenanigans LOL) ^^ I hope you all enjoy playing PMD:DX and get to acquire lizard buddies in the full release!
They made them the shopkeep In mystery dungeon games. Not just pokemon mystery dungeon but all of them Its theoretically possible to steal from the shop the the shopkeep is so strong it makes you wonder why they don't just save the world themself
“Be sure to be level 90 or above it it’ll be impossible to befriend him” the sugar coated way of saying you *probably* won’t get obliterated in one hit
The Legacy of Gaming is that true? I hope not. They make things way to easy for kids of this generation. I wished the game was going to be remade exactly the same just better graphics. I'm a little sad that they'll be adding Megas and Generations further than 2
@@emilyoliviamisa5335 Well 3 generations were in before, but you can see in the demo that things are a lot easier with starters getting 80 base power moves. And they take a lot from super such as moves leveling up in power and pp (which i have no problem with) Only issue is if they make recruiting units like super, because that would ruin the game.
The Legacy of Gaming ah i mistakenly said 2, thankyou for the correction. Yeah, its so much easier and I hate that fact. What were the recruiting units like in Super??
the first time i triggered a kecleon fight was because i accidentally stepped out of the shop while i had something picked up and i was so scared because... kecleon
The best pokémon for this is Registeel thanks to pure steel typing allowing it to resist every single move from Kecleon and with Clear Body, Kecleon's screech won't work.
Instead of the tight belt I would use the x-Ray specs. The specs allow you to immediately see if there is a kecleon shop upon entering a floor, and saves you from exploring the whole floor if you happen to spawn near the stairs
Damn, 10yo me never managed to accomplish this feat, I feel avenged! I'll keep this tip in mind for my DX playthrough. Congrats, and thanks for the video!
It probably will be about 50 time easier lol. With no risk of losing your friend after recruitement, automatic return to the base if the team is full and all that
I remember I had to redo a 10F hard dungeon just because I thought it would be smart to steal from Kecleon and use Pure seed and get warped to near the stairs. Little did I know whole gang of Kecleon would be waiting for me camping outside the stairs.
Got him a different way. Friended all other Pokémon first expect Jirachi. Then cleared Wish Cave and wished for something good ( aka new teammate) and bam, friended him without the endless battles
Umbregamer Ehh... I was Dialga as well. Tho well equipped, highly trained, and determined to recruit a new friend to my army of Pokémon. Even then they're strong.. my maxed out houndoom can decently handle them tho! Houndoom, rest, nasty plot, flamethrower, dark pulse. Ahh.. miss those days..
Shiny Kecleon is a creation of genius. It looks the same except for the red stripe, which is now blue. That's canonically the only thing Kecleon can't change by itself.
I didn't actually know that Kecleon's recruitment rate was in the negative values without the scarf, and wasted a loooot of time just hitting Kecleons.
Fun little tidbit. There's a move in the game called Wide Slash. If you ever get this move, and I only got it for Blaziken(not sure how), DO NOT FORGET THIS MOVE. It is incredibly OP. Because it doesn't have a type, it can hit ghost pokemon. It also hits THROUGH WALLS, and it hits any pokemon standing in the three squares in front of you. 50/10 best move in the entire game.
I actually did recruit a Kecleon, it was with the friend scarf or whatever that item is called which raises Kecleon's chance of recruiting to 1%. You should have had the X ray specs, those can help you see if a Kecleon shop is on the current floor. Also stealing from Kecleon on a misson also weilds some intresting text. It says you have committed thievery and aren't seen as a rescue team
@@quariryraisin nah, it lets you play through the dungeon but you can't do the misson for that particular floor. Every other misson you may have taken on will work as intended. It's not trying to scare you out of anything either. I did it a lot with Articuno trying to recruit Kecleon. His powder snow helps a bunch against Kecleon
I sat one entire summer trying to recruit Kecleon. One time when I sat there and trying to recruit it by my grandmas she told me to go to eat. I defeated the last Kecleon and went to eat. When I came back the Textbox appeared: Kecleon want to join your team. I did a happy dance for like 10 Minutes.
I did a pikachu run on this, thunderbolt and double team build, reviver seeds instead of evasion orbs, no drought orb for me... but during that run, I forgot about the friend bow so I failed xD
I remember never really even bother recruiting them as just trying to reach the end of long dungeons like Wish Cave and others. So I would always just steal everything from the Kecleon shop if I had the chance. All I did was made sure I had the orb that warped you next to the stairs(forgot the name or the warp seed that took you to the stairs)take all the belongings( I know for a fact that they some great items usually in higher floors like joy seeds and TMs) And warp next to the stairs which than just ignited the Kecleon fight, but didn’t have to bother with it since I was already gone by the next step lmao.
So true, my only real goal in this game was to recruit celebi and man I played hundreds of hours just to complete this stupid dungeon. Never bothered getting kecleon but this video is great work
Lmao by selling their items back to them you actually robbed them twice. Because theyre giving you money for things you didn't buy from them in the first place. But of course you cant just give it back so hopefully they made great profit in you buying everything. Great video!
"because they're giving you money for things that you didn't buy from them in the first place" You're telling me I robbed them because I sold all of my rocks and sticks that I found in the caves to them?
I clicked on this video because I was curious how to get this murderous pokemon, excuse me, I meant kecleon. Then I saw your commentary and forgot what was happening lol. I loved it. I hope Speckle doesn't mind but I will be using the name for my own kecleons :)
You're good to Kecleon! I'm going to do a lot more work in Explorers of Sky and then try to recruit my own Kecleon. I want to name it Speckle, too! I love the nicknames you give to your Pokémon :3
I remember when I was still new to the game, I played explorer of sky, and then I saw a keckleon shop, I wanna buy a reviver seed so I picked up and I thought that Keckleon would stop me from getting out of the shop before paying for the item, I get out of the shop, Keckleon teleported to me and asked me for the money, I said yes, But I forgot I don't have 800 Pokédollars, And I died
That kecleon was like "nah bruh, this dude did not just wipe 8 of us with 1 move.... oh nah i KNOW he didnt just wipe 5 more then me! I gotta join this mans" 🤣
