Rishi Sunak faces Sir Keir Starmer following PM's promise to bring in new laws to tackle illegal immigration.
Making a raft of announcements in the Commons, the prime minister said the legislation would be introduced early next year and mean people who do not come to the country through legal and safe routes "will be detained and swiftly returned either to [their] home country or a safe country where [their] asylum claim will be considered".
The news comes as emergency responders are trying to rescue a number of migrants on the British side of the Channel, according to the French maritime prefecture.

What is the point of PMQs, not a single question is ever actually answered by the PM. What is the point of going round the house taking MPs questions that go unanswered that those MPs cannot pursue an answer. Total f###ing waste of time.

I don't think they necessarily need to be answered. We all have an idea of why he cant or won't.. But they way Starmer asks hem in and of themselves is enough to make Rishi look entirely inadequate and shows all the failings of the Government and its poor decision makings over the last 12 years, bringing them to light well enough for the public who are watching or who see the clips later on social media later. Rishi's inability of being able to answer a question directly should show the public not only how disconnected from normality and self involved one super rich individual, but also as a collective - as none of them can add a different narrative for him.

The current 30-minute 12pm slot for PMQs was introduced by Tony Blair in 1997. Prior to that, since 1961, PMQs had been scheduled for 15 minutes on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons. Tony Blair thought that preparing for two separate questioning sessions was quite time-consuming, and occupied a significant part of his diary in the middle of each week, so a single session would be more efficient. Appear from the comments that Blairs new scheduling is not that efficient.

Like things are bad but inflation but economist seem to agree inflation is peaking from have heard/read but some people nurses(I only mention those bc the other I don't pay much attention too + they haven't had a lot of press) etc. do deserve wage rise

If he gave the nurses anything, then he wanted a lot more back in return. What he has given should be taken in contrast to what he wants back. He has destroyed the nurses moral and they cant afford to live. That is a fact right there. If it wasnt for the nurses and support staff we would still be in terrible trouble. His government was told a lot about what would happen if they didnt react to the virus sooner but it was ignored. Just read the book Spike a lot of people died because of a total lack of care.
