Pochettino's at PSG shouldn't even be a concern. What he did with tottenham was brilliant. Considering that Tottenham didn't spend to upgrade their core during his run, he was forced to develop youth as means to upgrade his core. He was able to get my Spurs to a champions league final! He was able to turn around a disappointing Chelsea last year. He would be a phenomenal hire for the USMNT
The only problems with Puch is it may trigger a post Chelsea PTSD episode with our best player. Se and, he will not accept a U.S. job until England hires someone else. That's why I think we should wait for England to act. If they don't hire Puch, offer him our job. If they do hire him, offer the job to Eddie Howe, who I'd also in the running for the England job and would be a great hire.
Poch might say no, but that's around the level you guys should be aiming at (ignore what happened at Chelsea, that club has been a basket case for a while now, so dont hold that against him) as a manager he's been quite decent, USSF should definitely ask the question
@BloodRider1914 well what I heard was Boehly wanted to keep Poch but the rest of Clearlake didn't, Boehly actually took Poch out for a dinner a few nights before because he knew what was coming, but generally I agree Boehly and Clearlake bought a club without having any knowledge of what they were doing
Might be a connection with Crocker and Poch via Southampton.....that and it seems Poch would probably fit better with the US players and get the most out of them. That's the most important quality we need out of whomever we hire. Too many stars with PSG is likely what went wrong there so I'm not too concerned about that. Yeah....Poch would be great. Viera is more of a plan b or plan c.
Poch is who i wanted to begin with, so if it happens... Vieira is still an improvement in that the players would take him seriously at some level, but still not ideal
Poch is a very good coach who’s been at some top clubs and did especially well at Southampton and Spurs, but I wouldn’t say he flopped at PSG and Chelsea looking back. He can only make this team better, but not sure what style he’ll play considering the US doesn’t have great depth in quality at the international level. I think it will be more pragmatic playing counter attacking football. The first thing he needs to do is make the team a lot tougher to break down.
Low, Howe, Poch, are all interested in the Egland job. Anyone of them would be a great hire for the U.S. I say we wait for England to make a decision, which they have to do quickly with world cup qualifying rounds fast approaching. We can then offer the position to either of the two England rejected. My preference is Eddie Howe.

You have potential as an entertaining and knowledgeable source for soccer info and analysis, but I think you would better serve your audience by making it known when you are expressing your opinion and when you are reiterating sourced information. When doing the latter you should credit sources, not only for purposes of fairness, but also so your audience can evaluate the legitimacy of the source. When expressing your opinion, say so, and understand there is nothing wrong with that. Again, I really think you have potential, but please heed this advice.

I've been watching a few channels about the usmnt and they all obsess with having a manager for just 2 years, which, to me just sounds wierd. Copa gone and as hosts you've qualified. So there's not a lot for them to do. If Whoever gets you to the quarters or semis you stand a chance of losing them. while a term of 6 and a half years they'd have more time to develop the team like Klinesman did, and you're more likely to attract a european Manager. Anyway just my 2 pennies worth Good luck and Ihope you get who you want
No Patrick Viera Watching his Crystal Palace teams was like watching reaaly bad paint dry, then slowly peel, and then fail. There are several good candidates vying for the England job. Any of them would be a good hire for the U.S., so wait until England makes a decision, swoop in, and offer the person they didn't hire the chance to prove England wrong.
I get it, all fans have a distorted view of their team, that's a given. Right now, the level of delusion amongst US fans is totally off the charts. 1) Even with a free ride to a 'home' World Cup the US Manager's position is not anywhere near as attractive as American pundits seem to think it is. At least, not to top tier foreign managers. The US will not be getting a big boy manager. 2) The US players are just not that good. Surely this can't be your Golden Generation? If the team was magically put in the English Football League they would be Championship promotion contenders in League One. That's their level. As horrible as it sounds, an MLS manager is the best choice. Someone who knows the ins and outs of the American systems, American players and American ways. Unfortunately, the best guy for the Job went north of the border and burnt the bridge behind him. God help you if you end up with a third tier foreign manager like Viera; it will set US football back decades. I wish you all the best of luck.
Why because he was a better player? That means nothing Nancy has proven hes the better coach at more than one club and proven he can win with inferior talent. What he did at Montreal was incredible considering how bad they were before and after him.
