IMPORTANT NOTE: I decided to separate the camera comparison to another video (for the reason of duration) and please stay tuned for the gaming tests! Also I apologize for the audio that's clipping a bit (despite my efforts to fix it), but THANKS for still watching and let me know if there's anything I can improve! 😄
@@abhijeetkhatri832 would love to do that but unfortunately I don't have any S21 FE for testing 😔 nor of my friends has it as well But please know that I'll keep on trying to review as much phones as I can!
Really good video. The different memory speeds are because of the cpu difference. The 8 gen 1 supports up to 3200mhz ram vs 2750mhz on the 870. For memory the 870 is capped at 44gbps vs the 51.2 on the 8gen 1. You can find the info if you search for the cpu specs. Just mentioning it since you go into a lot of detail in the comparison which is great and most reviewers don't, so i hope this helps for future videos.
Hi, just wanted to point out that there is a 12gb ram variant for the F4 as well. It is much faster and better at everything than my previous poco f3 even though they have the same chip! i do not recommend 6gb ram variants with these models they hold back the performance of the SD 870.
Nice and clean comparison, but I prefer actual gaming comparison rather than benchmark because based on the critics the sd 8 gen is too high on benchmarks but really sucks on the actual performance which is really disappointing, sd 865+ or 870 and dimensity chips are just way better on sd 8 gen 1 according to the other reviewers I watched, Is it true for you?
I watched a video about power efficiency and I learned that the snapdragon 865 would score nearly the same as snapdragon 888 if they both get the same amount of power consume and snapdragon 8 gen 1 is just consuming wayyy too much power to justify its speeds and also the scores you see in benchmarks use the chipset on the max speed which you would normally use only 1% of the time
Definitely thank you for deep diving the comparison between the two phones. Definitely again, deserves my subscription. Thank you for the informative content bro.
Thanks for the sub, the watch, and the comment! I'm really glad you found the video useful despite me being afraid for rambling too long, so yeah thanks again 🤣
With this kind of phones, it's kind of a coin toss for me since I don't do too much with my phone. I'm still using the Poco F1, I'm only buying a new one because I need a spare phone.
I Have a poco F3 and F4 GT I don't see any difference between these 2 in terms of performance.the only difference is F4 GT has 2 extra button and 120w charger and F4 GT battery drain a little bit faster than F3 and it heats up more than the F3 and with boost charging speed turned on when the device is hot It doesn't charge at 120W instead you get only speed like 33W.however the display on F4 gt looks shaper when gaming. Overall 870 is stable,8 gen 1 with future updates and optimization it will be getting better.F4 or F4 GT I would recommend X4GT Dimensity 8100 performs better than 870 and is on par with 8 gen 1.regret not getting the X4 GT.
What i would really want You Tell me ... And really i am very interested in the 10x(Times) super touch resolution , they Say that f4 GT has it , the touchscreen movementscaee extremely smooth and continous and it has nothing de to with the touch sampling rate !!
Really informative video, also, thanks for adding "SOUND-CODECS compatibility". I just want to know if the F4 is still having the proximity sensor problems that the F3 had? Thanks!
Gotta share some of my expertise in the wireless audio part! 😁 Thanks for watching I really appreciate it! So far I don't see any issue with the sensor, what did you encounter with the F3?
@@namedkenn Yeah, other reviews lack showing it’s audio capabilities, thanks! The big problem with the F3 is that the sensor sometimes works and other don’t, so when you are calling or listening a WhatsApp voice message, the screen goes on and off.
@@zavieir it's bug on almost every xiaomi phone. They use virtual proximity since there is no additional hardware required like optical or ultrasonic proximity. They basically cheapen out.
Hey Ken! I wanna pick a good quality TWS with earhooks. My sister needs one when she jogs, and I can't recommend most of the good ones without hooks because they always fall off. I hope you could recommend one at the 30-50$ range.
Really love this video, don't know how to explain it but your reviews like give something that no other video gives.. Keep up the good job Why only Poco phones on the reviews?
Hey Dor thank you very much for the feedback! I'm really glad the video has been useful to you, truly 🙏🏻 For now that's because they're the only ones I got in contact with, and I'm not in a capacity where I can buy the phones that I want to review (many are also not available in my country). But of course I'm aiming to review and cover more brands in the future!
@@namedkenn can't wait to see that. Till then thanks for the good job your doing with this phone, really thinking of buying it (gt) after my Asus rug phone 5 mother board bricked due to Android 12 update :(
Looking forward for the battery wear result. I would also want to request for a content regarding battery wear within 6 months since this has been a controversial issue. One is charged 5% to 100% regularly while the other is charged 30% to 80%. Thank you!
Yep! Still charging with boosted 120W every day now haha although for your question that will be another different beast to test (because consistency is really hard to do in real life 😂) but we'll see
@@namedkenn Yay! Definitely hard to test. Although AccuBattery app can guide you with it. Use the total percentage charged as basis (%). They will differ in total number of charge (times of charge or cycle) and total capacity charged (in mAh). And to test for battery wear, reset AccuBattery and charge from 1% to full (not 100% since it is not yet full).
the vapor chamber is just a buzzword because a copper heat pipe is also a vapor chamber... its more of the new f4 has bigger surface area to dissipate heat and it cost slightly more expensive than the f3... but again this surface area dissipation also has a limit since it is sealed inside the phone with almost no airflow at all to dissipate heat from the thermal heatsinks....
at least the redmagic 7 pro seems to have thermal transfer from the "vapor chamber" to the outside with the metal strip in the center portion at the back of the phone.... but it cost easily over double the price
Super happy to hear that! It took a lot of time and effort to make this one, and I was afraid that people would find it too long but looks like I was wrong 😆
Don't buy F4 GT go for F4 I used f4gt I wasted my money but fortunately money was refundable so I got all of my money back and bought F4 save 130usd f4gt had worst battery life tho it have 8 gen 1 couldn't felt any different with my present F4 camera quality was better on f4gt maybe and main issue was heating issues I was playing pubg I was heating quickly I am happy with F4 it get heat but not like F4 GT and most importantly it wasn't water proof which was disappointment as I am a food delivery boy there is a chance I may have to deal with raining sometimes so F4 GT wasn't cup of my tea but have to tell something that f4gt was so smooth. Loved that for few moments.
Well.. More powerfull procesor.. more heating.. U also must considering.. that plastic body back and frame are less noticable on touch than glass and steal frame.. simple as that.. but steal frame.. ofc steal dissipates heat better thats why its hot..er... U also can consider that u will probably u using case.. so most of us.. and thats problem which au au thing disappear.. (: That's my short factual thought about these "smart"phones (: Stay haúúy and healty.. peace✌
Kenneth, will the F4 charge at full 120W speed if we use the 120W charger on the F4? Please reply to this question, as nobody has mention this on the whole internet.
I've been charging at 120W for a month straight with the F4 GT and I think I've gone through this in the video (or maybe I cut it out), the battery life is pretty much the same at 91% from the first time I got the phone Keep in mind that I don't see this as a problem (why not 100%) for a couple reasons: first is the dual-battery setup and second is I focus more on the difference and how much it dropped over time
So can you tell me if there is a reason to buy the 12ram 256gb edition vs 8ram 128gb in terms of performance is there a diference ; i dont think any game uses more than 6 ram ; i cant decide wich version to buy on poco f4 GT it costs extra 100$
128gb is nothing. Games take more storage than you think they do even on a phone, more storage future proof phone. And since it has the capabilities to record in 4k I don't understand why 256 isn't the minimum...
I like your video, explain it very well. i want to see when you test poco f4 like you test pocof4gt .i want to see the difference in phones when playing gensin impact
So glad you found it useful! And for sure I'll be testing the F4 as I did with all the other phones I review 😁 and perhaps even a more focused video on genshin impact too so stay tuned!
Under screen finger print sensor are much worser than side or back ones. A button u know exactly where it is and can feel it before taking the phone out of ur pocket is the best
Hi. Can anyone honestly say the F4 is better than the F3 front & selfie cameras system in terms of having brighter photos, white balance, dynamic range, sharpness, video stabilization, mic pickup and skin tones?
@@ildafons And the annoying part is they don't listen to customers. I could get lucky if I get 2 software updates in 12 months. Security updates appears to be slightly better than last year but MIUI still is bloated and not fully optimised.
@@TechNomadUK1 well F4 GT is for gaming - I wouldn't buy it for making calls either as there is still some problems with proximity sensor and I sold my Poco F3 solely because of proximity sensor. But I think F4 GT is much better in gaming comparing to both F3 and F4...
I'll make a video about it in the near future so stay tuned! Though I don't wanna make you wait, honestly it depends on your priority and budget, both are great phones to be honest
What is the point of releasing new phones when theyre almost the same specs as the previous generation? Waste of materials. This F4 is barely better than F3. Not worth upgrading at all.
Hey dear, I'm stuck between choosing haylou w1 or buds 3 lite or soundpeats free2classic or air3pro.. i like natural and balance sound with deep bass.. which will you recommend plz help I'm confused!!
Does the motherboard freeze there too at my poco f2 i bought 2 yeats ago it freezes a lot tbats why i want a new phone but i wont go for Poco if that happens for all pocos
That’s not big difference between poco f4 and f4 gt it’s just cpu poco f4 gt developed than poco f4 it’s faster a little bit for price poco f4 it’s good
Spot on about the phone's temperature, i mean any phone will get hot if u max out the settings, they say the 8 gen 1 heats up but that's because it was tested on the highest settings which pushes the limits and eventually heats up like duh, i personally will be getting the poco f4 gt and tbh i just want a smooth sailing gaming experience on medium or even the lowest setting to maintain a good gameplay and not to strain the phone. I am getting a device for a long term, additionally the gaming trigger helps a lot in fps games to that's another reason, also i think the F4 is perfect for daily driver that display look clean with the small punch hole front camera imagine the view when watching a movie dang gorgeous
bro accept the fact that snapdragon 870 is just better u say all phone heat up on highest settings well the poco f3 could still get 45 fps+ max setting genshin while f4 gt had 37
@@predictezz1047 bro I'm using the poco f4 as I'm writing, i didn't say 870 is bad I'm literally using a phone powered by 870, also i was talking about how u can casually use 8 gen 1 without overheat and throttling never did i mention one is better than the other
@@justanotherviewer1282 u said u like personally the f4 gt and now u u using f4. any phone heats up ye but none like snapdragon 888 and 8th gen 1 versions
@@predictezz1047 i got both for reasons, one is for gaming and the other is for my daily use whenever I'm out and about, don't ask why i have both, but i just can't decide which so i bought both, but it is true 8 gen 1 does heat up pretty easily, still a good all round device beside the heating that's all I'm saying
@@justanotherviewer1282 hey bro I need your help I also cant decide: if I dont play games that much, I just watch a lot of youtube maybe some games social media and I like customizing my phone, which one should I buy? 128gb gt version 256gb not gt version
Hi, would like to know if either of the F4 or F4 GT running on latest MiUI can convert 5G network and hotspot out WIFI 6? If it can only hotspot out WIFI AC, is there any option to toggle the WIFI hotspot as PMF or WPA3 encryption? Thx
@@j.a.santos9859 Honestly both are excellent screens, yes both has their own advantages but really it takes more than the display to pick which one you buy
Hi! Just got my f4 gt and i switched off the game booster now i couldn't find it to switch on again haha.... I can't find the swipe button anymore.... Can anyone help me? Thank you! Hahaha
My Poco f4 GT is laggy in call of duty mobile. It needs to be in performance mode to play cod smoothly. but because you're on performance mode your battery drain and heat more. I do not recommend Poco f4 GT if you're a gamer
Umm any more details about the settings and the exact difference we're looking at here? And also what do you recommend as a better alternative at this price? 😁
OBVIOUSLY it's the latest tech in market. It would take time for Mi to optimize its hardware for apps. either way SD 8 Gen 1's issues in cooling and performance would be resolved in the near future. We just need to wait as it just got released
