Oh thanks god, finally a sensible review. Usually the reviewers start comparing features with very expensive high end phones or start highlighting only the lacking features. It's so annoying. There is a reason budget phones are made. Because most people including myself can't even dream of having a premium phone let alone expect to have perfect cameras, perfect haptics, perfect screen etc etc etc. I don't know what is happening to so many reviewers these days.
Thank you dmfor this comment my sentiments exactly. You should copy and paste your message on every top RU-vidrs comment section. They all sound the same
@NOMAN KHAN I found this bug when you pull down the notification toggle. It went missing until you close and open it again. But now I'm not able to recreate it again so imma let this pass🤷. As for the auto switching from 120Hz to 60Hz it's not that noticeable to me. The typical MIUI stutters do present here and there but it's not that bad. Edit: Updated to MIUI 12.0.2, and now the ultrawide cam crashes when in video mode. Any of y'all experience this? Edit 2.0: anotha bug👉 Poco x3 battery indicator bug imgur.com/gallery/qRPwRYz
@Mifdhal Akif was right. It's a bit noticeable but tolerable though. Its doesn't always happen. I guess this iscoz of the SD 732G itself. Since it's a new chip. I know Poco/Mi will make future software updates to rectify this. But overall, this is a beast. I mean for the price versus the specs and the value you get out of this phone, you just can't deny that this is the best midrange phone you can buy. (Not sponsor)
@@suryaa109 Prior to this I was a mi 8 user. Comparing stock mi 8 to X3 I'd say the mi 8 still takes better photos on daylight. But mi 8 works like a charm with gcam (san!ty v9.5) due to having the same sensor and soc as the pixel 2. So if I'm comparing mi 8 with optimized gcam against stock X3 it's a night and day difference. Even tho my 2 year old mi 8 have (technically) a much inferior ISP and main camera sensor (IMX363 vs IMX682). I was hoping that San!ty guy will buy one and create a mod for it Edit: let's just say that the camera was "eh, it's good enough" based on my testing with it. Techtablets made a great video about it
Watching on my Poco X3 NFC, I am so SO happy I bought this phone. It performs excellently, the volume is fantastic on speakers. The response rate is also great. Gaming is great, I haven't noticed any lag when playing my mobile games. As far as weight, it's not as heavy as I thought it would be. I got used to it that touching a smaller phone feels weird due to how light it feels now. A common complaint I've seen reviewers talk about was the logo so I was expecting it to be awful but I don't even notice it. Seriously, it's smooth to the touch and you'll be putting a cover over it too anyways. So much whining for something that you won't even notice! The camera is fun to play with as well. Buy it!!
@@doctoryaseen5095 worked like a charm for me. I've never had any issue making or receiving calls, granted I never had long calls on my phone save for WhatsApp but I have yet to notice any problems and this is three months on.
I've been using my X3 about a month now and I really love it. It's just such a great phone for the price that cuts the right corners. I really can't recommend the X3 enough. In the USA it runs on ATT and T-Mobile, mine is on AT&T via Straight Talk, and I haven't had any issues with 4G speeds here in South Florida.
I bought this last Saturday, 10-24-2020, and so far I am enjoying and loving this unit. Battery life, camera quality and even in games and vids. The one thing I don't like is the vibration at the back when the volume is kinda loud at even at the mid.
I did it 2 days ago. Unfortunately was too late to get cheaper deal, but stil manage to get -30$ from presale. I'm fine with that, hope the phone will be good, and that hole in screen will not be annoying.
I always find myself liking GSMArena's review as soon as I start the video and never regretting it. Such quality reviews. Thanks. Love that you include if the phone have LED Notification or not.
I'm having a blast playing with this phone. No ads on my unit, dual stereo speakers are good but hot drum does that 120hz refresh rate drain the battery quite fast. No complaints though. Just sayin xD
Amazon USA $229 full warranty. Got mine last week. Works great on Tmobile. Ads can easily be disabled with several RU-vid videos on this. Also gets updates for security and Android for three years. I have over 20 Smartphones and this is best value, second only to used LG G7 ThinQ for $128. Peace
got rid of my f1 switched to f2 pro since they cost LITERALY the same here in our country.. dont know what got in to xiaomi but they reduced the price so much its like a crime
For anyone annoyed by "ads" on MIUI, you can easily turn those off within the app settings. Turn off "Recommendations." I've been ad-free since miui 10.
"When the recommendations are off, you'll still see the same quantity of ads as when it's on, but they won't be based on your behavior data or your personal information"
@@abcxyz9534 bro whrer do you live, when does it launch in your country? I bought the X3 just a week ago and waiting it to arrive. How has your poco been working so far?
Thanks for the great review! You've pushed me to select this phone as my next device. I usually stay with the samsung S series but this time around they are too expensive. Can you tell us what type of sim card this device takes?
when a 200$ poco outclasses some premium phones....and now with poco x3 pro came out with flagship quality and newest snapdragon 860 (8-bit cores) with 5g support, tell me how can this phone be called mid range?!
I was thinking of getting one as the successor to my Poco F1 but I went for the Oppo Find X2 Lite instead and I don't regret it. It's super slim (unlike the Poco X3) and has a super nice AMOLED screen (which the Pcoo also doesn't have). I don't game so I don't think I'll notice the difference in processing power :D
yes but that amoled is not 120hz is it? and unlike poco it is thin but it is missing a whole 1100mah battery in order to make it slim i would go for 5120mah battery anyday over some mm of slimness
How much of X3's users actually use the NFC feature? That extra "NFC" moniker feels like an attempt to attract slightly more audience. I honestly think they added the NFC tag just to make it different from the other pocophones considering the rather bland naming scheme for the other pocophones.
Hello GSMArena. I´m looking at something like the x3 NFC or H. p30. Where I live they are virtually the same price. For the money, which is better and why? If they are similar values, what are the biggest differences?
Camera would be better on the p30 and for performance it is slightly better but you do miss out on the 120hz refresh rate but the display is still really good on the p30. The battery life won't be as good as the X3 but the p30 was already great they are not as good now after the degredation I would say you'll be better with the x3 and the Huawei doesn't have GMS.
After 11 months of using as my daily driver the battery got easily drained for about 10 hrs only for watching movies and some social media but performance is still great ✌️
This is a good phone. My only problem is sometimes it activates autoclicks randomly in the screen, annoying specially if it hit like on facebook accidentally because of this issue..Overall its good, high battery life, high refresh rate good picture etc..
I bought this last Saturday, 10-24-2020, and so far I am enjoying this unit. Battery life, camera quality and even in games and vids. The one thing I don't like is the vibration at the back when I put the volume halfway up.
@@lambentluna1111 it is actually depends on the user. If you are like me who's more on soc med, watching vids and not a heavy gamer, this is a good phone to buy.
I got this phone a few days ago but it was faulty so I am returning it. Now for the cons (mostly software): - earpiece is too low during calls even though it is incredibly loud while functioning as a second speaker, meaning it must be a software problem. - Notifications don't always show up for specific apps even though they are not on sleep or turned off (I checked). - Notifications show only once on the lock screen, if you unlock and lock, they no longer show up. - I faced lots of issues with certain apps, mostly video calling apps, not being able to adjust the volume of speakers, and it automatically increases it up to the max, causing the caller to hear an echo of his voice. - the earpiece disperses the sound during calls, so anyone within a few meters distance from you can hear the conversation very clearly, or you have to set it too low that it is no longer audible. - I haven't played any games on it but I found that it does heat up a little during usage. I haven't played around with the camera that much, so everything other than that part in the video is true. I'd recommend this device to others if the software wasn't so crappy.
Only two complaints I have is the ghosting and it feels very big because of the thickness. My S20+ feels better. Otherwise really great phone considering the price.
I already have Iphone 11 pro max... but need a phone to play pubg all day long.. and now I know which one to go for and that too very much affordable...
@@ДанаИсаева-з4к It's very fast. No noticable performance dips except for Google News Feed. It's pretty close to stock Android with some differences so it should feel quite familiar if you like stock.
very good review. I don't care for fast charge; I care for reliable charge, and that the Power Admin. be smart enough to stop charging the battery at 100% to avoid overcharge, and to charge it again when it goes to 99%, so if I leave it overnight, won't be problem. Macro cam is so important when photographing business cards or small product descriptions or other important text, 2 MP is more than enough, the important thing is that is sharp/detailed, I had 2 phones and the camera at close ups were garbage, so I'm glad I'm buying this one early next year. Looks like the X3 doesn't have V-Synch
American products: We have good quality, which is why we are expensive. European products: We also have good quality and high price. Chinese products: Amateurs, see all my products are sold very cheap all over the world, high specifications and good quality. America and Europe: Crying throughout history. Note: China is very brave enough to sell at very low prices with high specifications and good quality throughout the world. It will never be found in American and European products. For a very high price, you can buy a lot of Chinese products on a par with American and European products. Never imagine American and European products being sold at low prices with high specifications and good quality. Because it's impossible ... 😂
Is this early adopter tech worth the risk? Can't help but feel maybe 120hz might be a big drain on battery life. I have an F1 and have been using it for almost 1.5 years. Runs well but with some weird bugs
People still don't understand Mi Redmi Poco is just a different product lines they just advertise it as different brand bcoz of their Wrong Brand impression...😉
@@pilly1000 Ohh... Didn't know that.🙏 But I am not psyched about Poco X3 that much. We jave much better options available at this price range like Realme 7 Pro(Personal favourite), Samsung M31S or Redmi K20 Pro( little bit of extra money)
I am using a x3 nfc right now. Have to say there are some issues with the phone. 1. The phone get stuck randomly for 2 or 3 seconds. You cant go back and can't open a new app or respond to your touch. 2. Randomly signal drop. Signal bar get zero 3. And the last thing and the most frustrating issue. You can't play call of duty mobile game in this phone properly. Every time you play codm after 5 or 6 min your screen get black. The game is still run. But you cant see anything. Only thing you can do is exit from the game and reconnect. Apparently the same issue is happening PUBG also.
It looks great, and would be, if you couldn't pick up previous gen top of the range phones for the same price. But I'm sure there are plenty people who don't want sloppy seconds, which is fine. More for me!
X3 uses a variable refresh rate base on what you doing, like watching YT or movies I think it can drop down to 30hz or when you do nothing on the home screen it drops down too. That is also why some people complain about the stutter, cause it has a delay to crank back up to 120hz from lower hz. Is a compromise for longer battery life, so could either be a pro or a con depend on your preference.
