Thank you! Using two amplifiers at the same time simply provides you with more tone options. It is like having two amplifiers in the room with you, and then you set them up differently. You can pan them to different speakers too.
...that's a really good question. If you decide to download it, please let me know if it works. It might depend on whether the XT Live is forward compatible, and that might depend on whether special updates for XT Live have been released to allow it play these, and whether the same amps/effects are available.
hey pdx, always great checking out your new videos. got a question for ya. i got a pod hd500, and i was trying to run it directly thru my mosvalve power amp, hence the patches didn't sound that good, kinda weak. Is the pod a preamp (like the rocktron voodo valve), or just a pedal board, thus needing to go through an amp, either thru the guitar input or effects loop. need some help here dude. thx..andy
Hey man, it's pretty much just a pedal board. I run it through the front end of my amp on the clean channel and it produces very nice tones (better than the direct recording examples I have in my videos). Have you considered contacting Line6 and asking for setup advice?
That's an excellent question. Thus far, I have not seen any acoustic simulation sounds (that is, patches to make electric guitars sound like acoustics). I would love to see that though.
..thanks Lai! ...that's a really good question, and someone else just asked the same thing. It might depend on whether the XT Live is forward compatible, and that might depend on whether special updates for XT Live have been released to allow it play these, and whether the same amps/effects are available. I'm doubtful because I read that the amp models for example are either new or newly designed.
Hey, Mr! I really enjoyed your POD HD 500 / X videos and patches !!!! Which video editor do you use, and how do you put the photos of the emulated equipment in the middle of the video in such an epic way ????
Thanks for the kinds words! I use Vegas Movie Studio for video editing. In terms of the screenshots, I just used SnagIt to capture them, and everything including audio/videos/screenshots are all edited together using Movie Studio.
Dave your vids are so helpful and clear to understand you should work for LINE 6 ,BIG thanks for taking time to show your talents to us not so good guitar players, awesome
Hey man! Awesome tones you got there, really love them! I have a question for you, since i bought a HD500 today.. What does two amp in same time give? THX and PEACE
hello there. firstly, i would like to say that your videos rock! also, i want to ask you something. does the digitech whammy pedal work exactly like a real one? for example, can i play marooned by pink floyd (because gilmour uses a whammy pedal in this song) ? thanks a lot. keep rockin' ! cheers...
Hi there thanks for a great video that explains it well. just one question : can you use both balanced and jack outputs ? I mean, for driving the signal on a sound system and an amp at the same time.
Great Video, bro! I How do you get the back noise down? Even when I use the noise gate I can't get that clean sound that you have when only the guitar track is played on your videos. Maybe I'm using to much drive on the amps ;). I have to experiment with this thing its just endless
Hey thanks! I was definitely thinking of Tom Scholz from Boston too when I chose to set the harmony up that way. :) Glad you liked thegeneral tone too! However, I wasn't necessarily going for a Scholz tone, but that's cool LOL. I remember back in the 80s, I had one of his Rockman units - I wish I still had hit! I used to use mine as a pre-amp... loved that sound!
Hi William, what I recommend you do is go into my Clean Twin patch and just experiment with the different amps by dropping them in to replace the blackface, one by one. If you don't know how to do that yet, please let me know... but it will be good practice then, because it's important to know how to change the amps and make patches on your own too :)
...thanks! ..the sound you are hearing is the sound direct from the unit into the computer. I use an amp simply as a monitor, but you can't hear that here.
hey dude awesome patches! but can u make another clean kinda tone! just to compare it ...cuz i have blackface for clean tone but is another amp module better for clean tone? i use a fender
Yes, there is a list of amps that the models are supposed to emulate. They just name them kind of funny for copyright purposes, but there is still a list :)
Hi Javan, I am sorry that I do not understand. Are you asking how to use the "expression pedal," or are you asking where to place a volume pedal in the chain of effects?
Javan Brito I understand. I think volume pedal is most often placed at the very beginning of the chain. However, it is sometimes good to place it further down the chain. I think the most important question is whether you want the reverb/delay to happen after the volume change, or before it. :) Both are different approaches, and both can sound good.
Oh man, load that Rock Harmony Emaj +3rds and play the opening riff of "Peace of Mind" by Tom Scholz! That's what I'm talkin about! Nice work on all of these, but that one got me jazzed. I actually dropped the mix on the harmonizer back to 32% to sound more like the recording, but that is his tone for all intents. Cheers.
hey we've got pretty much the same instruments, i have podhd500x and the ibanez s520ex, the guitar tones in your video sounds almost exactally like what i hear from my guitar. just saying,,, nice vid bro
