why does this need to communicate back to pod point? is this for timed charging (so could be disabled if not used such as in a car garage? or is there another reason since most home owners don't subscribe to smart grids etc.
@@alanjenkinson7812 too easy to bypass the electricity meter in houses so loads of people will start using "free" electricity if they start taxing electricity usage.
I know this is an old thread, but can I change the 20amp cable type 1 connector to a type2 connector myself … as it looks to be 3phase cable, like wiring a plug! Thanks….
Hi Marky D yes you are correct saying do not connect to a pme supply put it on a TT supply . The pod point we have just fitted has an o pen device which means you fit on a PME system.. I’ve not seen this device on any other charging point may pod point have a patient on The technology
WHAT ABOUT PEOPLE WHO LIVE AT THE TOP OF TOWER BLOCKS, OR TERRACED STREETS WITH ONLY ON STREET PARKING AND YOU CAN'T GET YOUR CAR LESS THAN 100 YARDS FROM YOUR FRONT DOOR?
Okay, well I am having a pod point fitted and they have asked to see the bonding on the water pipes but the supply has been changed to plastic pipe? So what good is that? I have a TT supply and have had an earth rod installed but they haven’t asked if I have one? Do they know what they are doing? I don’t have gas so no bonding there.
With the certificates mentioned...do these need to be by someone registered. Only reason for asking as ive done alot of electrical work over the years and want to install my own...please advise...thanks
@@mediacontroller2007 There are videos on just about every aspect of Electrical work including how to replace your consumer unit, but you still need to be a Registered Electrician in a CPS to be able to sign it off though. It could just be for the Apprentices, but in the public domain.
