My ex-boyfriend and I used to watch this podcast together, it was like our "thing." We'd cook dinner together at the end of the day and watch the podcast and laugh and catch onto all the inside jokes. He broke up with me out of the blue over FaceTime last week and one of my first thoughts was legitimately "fuck, does this mean I'll be too sad to watch the podcast ever again?" You guys brought so much joy and laughter and silliness into my life. Needless to say I'm back again this week, and admittedly super sad. But honestly, fuck him. Can you breathe when your body goes through an episode of sleep paralysis? Or do you go through a few seconds of not being able to breathe during an episode?
@@alyxskyler from what i know you can breathe, sleep paralysis is basically your body can't move because you woke up in middle of a REM cycle where your muscles can't move anyway, only your eyes can move
alyxskyler You can breathe but in a lot of cases when you first wake up you feel like you can’t because it’s almost like there is a huge heavy weight on your chest (for me at least, and I’ve seen a lot of other people mention this feeling as well) but you physically can breathe, your brain is partially awake but not enough to move your arms and legs, and the more anxious you get the worse it can be/longer it can last. A lot of people also experience very scary hallucinations during periods of sleep paralysis (it’s a good idea to just keep your eyes closed and do deep breathing if you ever experience it) so you’ll feel as though you’re dying before you snap out of it and your brain wakes up fully, but you aren’t actually in any legitimate danger.

I live near Boston and our local country station, 102.5, has a missed connection segment EVERY WEEKDAY BB. My mom and sister listen to it on the way to school and I get filled in at dinner everyday about what the missed conecction was that day.

The way the Taylor swift tickets worked was that you watched the video through a special Ticketmaster portal, it did log your views and you essentially earned points. I hate to say that I did it a ton of times but did end up with seats right by the stage so 🤷🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️ it was worth it to me

With the Taylor Swift thing, it's through Ticketmaster (or some other similar website) and you don't watch it through RU-vid, you watch it on the website itself. So it does actually track how many times you watch it. The thing that she (or more specifically Ticketmaster) faced criticism over was that buying the song or buying merch gave you "boosts" to get tickets, which gives priority to wealthier people
That was until ticketmaster added more videos for fans to watch to get the boosts for free. At first it was just like the lyric video and merch. But now they added the music video and behind the scenes clips for people to watch. Ticketmaster also upped the number of boosts you can get by watching the videos. Before it was a "low" boost but now it's a "medium" boost. There are plenty of fans who have priority that did not spend a single cent.
The nice thing about the Taylor thing is that through the website that you get the tickets from (Ticketmaster partnered with her) it tracks the views that you give when you go through that site. You get moved up in "priority" for doing different boost activities. You can view the videos up to 15 times for credit a day and also do things like but merch and pre order the album and stuff. It's a more elaborate version of what other artists (Harry Styles, Ariana Grande, etc.) have done when they partnered with Ticketmaster.
Friendly Fact Check about the Taylor Swift topic: Her website is partnering with Ticketmaster (I don't know the technical internet terms, sorry) to help battle scalpers. (She's not the first artist to do this btw. Harry Styles, Hamilton, and a few other artists that I don't know off the top of my head have participated for tour tickets) She wants her fans to be able to have access before the scalpers do. So, through a webpage that connects her website and your Ticketmaster account she can track: Album sales (promo codes entered after you preorder her album- only counted for the first 13 albums you order), Merchandise sales via her website linked, Promoting through posts on social media you've linked to the account, and watching all the youtube videos surrounding her album release that are linked on said website (you can only watch the videos up to 10 times a day-I don't know how the technology works, but my views are counted after I watch the videos, so they figured out some way to measure it?- you don't watch it directly on youtube; you have to be signed into your Ticketmaster account for it to count) you get daily "boosts" that help you reach the front of the line for tickets A.K.A. "Priority". I'm pretty sure it's legal and freakin' genius of Taylor Swift. She's breaking records and helping her fans get better tickets. The different activities give different levels of boost. For example, preordering her album is a "high boost", while watching her videos is a "medium boost," and social media promotion is a "low boost." The videos used to be a low boost, but Taylor heard a lot of fans complaining on tumblr about how it isn't fair that fans with more money to buy albums and merch had a better advantage, so she told her team to change them to medium boost, which I think says a lot about her intentions. Don't feel bad for this 26 year old who keeps watching the videos. I'm 4% away from the front of the line and trying to keep up with all the youths in front of me lol.
