Perfect video for me. I just purchased the same exact car play and I have a honda odyssey so I was particularly interested in the mounting position I should use.
Great to hear man. The company also saw my video and ask me if I can check one of their upper end unit that run real android 13. I'll post that one once I get it in and give it a try
I used the telescope mount on the dashboard with some black duct tape. Works well and the front dashcam can capture road in 2/3 of the image (the other 1/3 is the dashboard)
One question: you car looks not too old. Your iPhone is connected to the CAR bluetooth for calls i assume and to the Podofo as well for the carplay stuff, at the same time. While you use Podofo for music and if you receive a call, how it manages it? Can you remove the chime from the begining ?
I'm connecting to the Odyssey via bluetooth. All audio from my phone is routed to the car that way. So while I'm using carplay, all audio are going straight to the car and when phone call comes in I just pick it up using either my car steering wheel answer button or carplay screen. Work seamlessly here.
I tried this and it works but the app is finicky and picky on what type of format it play. Check out my latest review coming out today for a better unit for this purpose
You can connect the 2nd phone. You do need to disconnect from the first phone. If you Go to your phone bluetooth device for this carplay -- turn carplay off will disconnect it.. However the bluetooth still connected to that phone so it doesn't let you connect a new phone. So disconnect your phone from the carplay device/turn off that phone bluetooth then you can add another phone.
I link in one of the comment a "cd slot phone mount" -- the One I used isn't available but you can search on amazon and other place for something similar.
not how carplay works. Carplay is setup for you to click plus/minus to zoom and drag around to see. Until apple change this, nothing we can do. It's the same on iOS18 as far as I can tell. Not this device or any carplay device fault
No, it doesn't. This doesn't have dedicated android, there's a another unit that I recently review that run android and that will do it. But you will need hotspot from your phone.
