Point Break is one of the all time classic action movies. This remake...as far as I'm concerned it didn't happen. I don't plan on seeing it, ever.

Recipe for Point Break remake: 1 part Point Break 1 part Quantum of Solace 1 part Die Hard 5 Season with the tears shed at The Phantom Menace's premier. Mix until the good aspects have separated from the bad, then drain off the good. Bake at a temperature hot enough to melt steel beams. Finally, throw that in the trash and order a pizza, because you're a terrible cook!

And Kathryn Bigelow directed the original and she knew how to get good work from her cast. Plus Keanu, Swayze & Busey made that movie fun
@dakritic

Gary Busey wasn’t Utah’s contact in the original, he was his partner. Huge difference.

Question I am just wondering can you do a video about law abiding citizen because I like that movie I was just wondering what was the original ending to that movie please
@Jammsbro1

I'm guessing that by showing a picture of Tyler rock climbing as you say something happens is that she dies climbing. The biggest mistake of this is that they didn't realise that the main pull of the original was the star power of Reeves and Swayze at the time. Ramirez is still not well known and I couldn't pick the guy that played Utah out of aline up.
@Jammsbro1

+Jammsbro The total recall remake was really good. You have some weird tastes bro. You rave over barely known 80's movies and poo poo so many modern ones. Still think you're a film hipster.

The original is one of my all-time favourites. The first time I saw the trailer, I was horrified - what you described in this video is what I was expecting. And hipsters. Why replace surfers with hipsters? When you said the script was written by the same guy who did the Total Recall remake - it all made sense why it looked so bad.

Speaking of Law Abiding Citizen, you ever think of spotlighting that on an "Exploring..." video or a straight up "Good Bad Flicks" episode? It got a lotta hate from critics, and I really don't know why. Gerard Butler was OUTSTANDING as was Jamie Foxx (Never understood why he got so much hate)

I know there are always remakes and readaptation, and I have no problem with that. Some of my favourite movies ever are remakes (Cronenberg's Fly, Carpenter's Thing, etc.), and I've very much enjoyed a lot of the current spate. But I'm not crazy, right..? It was never like this before..? I mean, in the 1990s there was no aggressive push to reproduce every single thing filmed in the 1960s and '70s. They _were_ doing remakes of that stuff, but it was always a healthy ratio that was generally new material; all the stuff we are retreating now. It's especially pointless when they get to movies like Point Break or RoboCop, or properties like Watchmen; stories that are *so* of their times. These stories were organically created from the ground up, under whatever particular circumstances, to satisfy their concept or thesis, and to make some comment on the time in which they were conceived. Cynically trying to "update" them merely for the name brand recognition cache these stories have (because they were good, and original, and had passion) for people is putting the horse before the cart. Add in all the obstacles modern studios set up for themselves right from jump to satisfy the broadest possible market so they have a hope of recouping the budget they're investing, and it's no wonder the majority of these things turn out so forgettable. Either generate new material or, if you must do this, give these projects to people who care about them, and maybe take a risk every now and again. I have to repeat myself and say that this is the way many of the source movies earned their way into our hearts in the first place, to have cultivated that fondness we have for them that you're intent on exploiting.

The silliness of remaking it. The original is a good enough movie, and there really isn't new technology that would add to it, no swapping from black and white to color level of upgrade. So the odds of matching, let alone improving, on the original are next to none. You're better off taking the core concept, and making your own movie. You know, like "The Fast and the Furious" did.

since you mentioned the total recall remake in this review and how bad it is, well to me its like deus ex the movie, like i only watch it for like 30mins right when jessica biel comes into the picture then i just stopped, like the new robocop movie is a pretty damn good remake, and think our lucky stars there is no mention of delta city in that remake because that was a sub plot that just went know where in the original films, and also on a final note, sony pictures is pitching ideas for a new robocop sequel.

I don't understand your hate with Total Recall, even though both films are very bad and pointless, at least they were trying to do something new with it (they failed at doing it right though) and it had some pretty entertaining action scenes while point break was just an extreme sports film with the point break name slapped on it. Still love you though!!

+thebigbadone1234 The Total Recall remake just didn't work for me. It didn't have the energy that the first one did and it felt like many of the classic scenes were just redone with a new coat of CGI paint. Can't like everything! :P

It's been nearly 9 years since this remake came out and I've never seen it. I never plan to see it and it all stems from one particular line of the movie shown in the trailer where Utah says "like me, these guys are extreme athletes."
