Can't forget this song. It was so significant back then. I was 14 yrs old and I had my bf listen to the music as our way of connecting with each other.
Thanks for uploading :) I love this film and the soundtrack is amazing! Having said that, it is Hans Zimmer, so it's bound to be good! Such a brilliant movie - sexy, slick and quite touching in parts. I think it's sadly underrated. Gabriel Byrne is amazing, as always. "Do you like Nina"? "I love her"! This film introduced me to the greatness that is Nina Simone. Wonderful!
I am an action movie girl all the way... this is a classic... I saw this on my 15th birthday, and didn`t think I`d like it, but 30 seconds in, hearing this music, I was hooked
I used to love the theme from 4:55. As an impressionable kid I fell in love with Bridget Fonda. This movie taught me to like a tin of ravioli for life. Funny but true story.
No kidding. Same here! 😂 Also, you've gotta have some (or make some) ravioli when watching this movie or for dinner before. And anyone who thinks tinned (or "canned") ravioli is not a legit sexy food does NOT know what they're talking about it. Or how to eat it. 😁 Definitely a food meant for sharing. 😜 I also really like Bridget Fonda in another Luc Besson film, Kiss of the Dragon. She and Jet LI are great in that. If you haven't seen it I think you'd like it too. Don't know how it's possible to be a fan of this movie and not that as well. And thanks for the music time stamp. My favorite part as well especially that sad, haunting, innocent yet sober melody near the end at 6:55. I don't know what it's called in the soundtrack but to me that's "Nina's Theme". it's been a while since I've seen this film. Time to watch it again. With some white wine, a salad and ravioli of course. 😅 (I could be wrong but I thought there was a salad there too as part of the spread but not one they shared). - And preferably on a perfect summer night with palm trees outside rustling in the same sultry ocean breeze that's drifting through the open windows.
I love this movie, saw it when it came out, didn't find out until years later it was an America version of La Femme Nikita. I still to this day have not watched that one. Which one is better?
@@thealbanianlorg6542 I agree - I usually agreed with Roger Ebert's reviews but disagreed completely with him on this. Thought this was the best one and yeah, the clips I saw of the original weren't because they were "French", to me they were just odd. Didn't like the main character heroine in that one.
This was Hans' best period. I still like his stuff, but not so much since he cut back on the big synth sound. About the only recent Zimmer scores I really liked were the "Dark Knight" scores and "Inception." It's a shame he decided to stop doing scores for superhero movies, but if you feel you have nothing new to add, that's probably for the best.
TERRIFIC. a friend owned a country cinema in Australia, with a good sound system. When the movie was showing, we used to turn the volume way up high for Hate. The audience was rapt.
I got it too, from a friend of mine who got a hold, from a server. This is my favorite one, although I think the rest of the score is rather poor for a Zimmer.
She was. She did like 30 films. But then she got married to Danny Elfman, got in a car accident and suffered injuries, had a family, etc. Don't know much more than that other than I think it was a conscious choice to quit the business.
