Hi viewers, friends, aspiring dancers or lovers of the art form,
I am back with a Pointe Shoes preparation video.
Here I share with you how I personally customise my shoes as a professional dancer!
(I wear a special pair of Bloch)
I am sure you will find some steps of the way helpful and others might not fit your personal preparation, nonetheless I think you can still get inspired on how to make your shoe fit better to your foot.
If you are just starting with pointe work and you feel a bit lost at first, start with the basic steps, like sewing ribbons and elastics, then you can get started with the Darning (step 5), which is a wonderful trick to make the shoes more stable, but it takes some time to get the technique (spoiler: I will be making a darning video too❗️)
As I mention in the video, some steps of the way can be skipped, if you are not a professional dancer and you have limited access to pointe shoes. For example the “slicing” of the outer sole (step 9) might soften the shoes quicker and if you are a student, your teacher might also not like the look. Have fun discovering my way of sewing the pointe shoes!
Let me know if you have any questions or wishes! ❤️✨🩰📩
See you in the future,
All the best,
Giulia
