most children would love to pick that dart frog up.. wonder if that is an issue in cultures that live near there and how they deal with it..

usually these places are isolated, with no residents around... but when dart frogs occur near regions where people live, they learn from an early age that these frogs should not be picked up.

Poison darts aren't an instant death kind of thing like many people think. Its hard for poison to enter human skin, only a few poison dart frog species can really even do that. As long as after you touch it, you don't touch your face/eyes/mouth and wash your hands, you'll be okay. The ones in south america are stronger than central american ones but I've had poison dart frogs jump on my skin no problem in central america. But for your example, children will be dumb and touch their eyes or mouth on accident so its just something you have to teach them. You could say the same thing about rattlesnakes or toads in america.

Any clue on the plant ID around the 1:30-1:40 mark? is it a species of Peperomia? Amazing video.

its could be Peperomia rotundifolia. Looks like it would make great ground cover in a vivarium

while looking at these animals in their natural surrounding you can see the difference with animals in terraria, with a water basin and mostly far to wet! the soil in the jungle is not often muddy and very wet like in terraria. These Tinctorius use stem and branches of trees laying on the ground, climb trees liker Histrionicus which live in the same kind of forests
