I don,t know who did mixed the vocals,but i get the impression that something wrong here..its pitty because you have amazing voice and the singing was perfect,try to record one more time and mix both voices on octave low and high...you can not sing this song on second voice low still need to be higher then the original the lead vocal..to avoid the mistake just sing both octaves low and high and mix it.
