Back in college in the summer of circa 2004, I had a summer job in the forestry division of my city. We maintained trails, it was very fun. One of our assignments was to replace an old cedar bridge. They paired us a with a someone who had experience building wood play structures for playgrounds. Anyways, prior to the build, they warned us that there was poison ivy around and showed us the plants. I guess we didn't pay enough attention because a couple of days later we piled some of the boards/ building materials on the plants. I presume some of the oil of the plants got on the boards and then transferred on the skin. A day or so later, not sure exactly, the allergic reaction started. It was so itchy that I could have sanded my skin with a belt sander to relieve the itch. We started having rashes on our hand, mostly on the arms. One of the student co-worker was showing off his scabs to the builder/designer and claimed he got it worst, but he didn't see mine yet. He asked me to show my arms and was a little shocked! I had the bragging rights because I had worst reaction! I think it took a good two weeks to heal. I'm much more aware these days of this plant. This almost killed my father a couple of weeks before I was born. He reacted quite severely and had a fever of 104F. I think they had him on 20 pills per day. Pretty serious plant!
Can anyone help me out? I'm wracking my brain to think of a RU-vidr I watched years ago who reminded me a lot of Bill. He lived in a condo, had some water turtles, had a loft with some vintage computers on it, and he tinkered with some old radios, record players and even old household fans. I think his name had some kind of I.T. connotation. Ring any bells for anyone?
Yes, and the electrician was one of them. He didn't get into it, thankfully. He sent his father to do the work, as he said it didn't bother him at all.
Will it burn? That is the question. I was using a pump sprayer to apply this stuff on my deck to protect it and it turns out that it's deadly to poison ivy so I went around and sprayed all the poison ivy around my house. Killed it all. Turns out it kills athlete's foot fungus too. Got it on my feet a few times and no more itching.
@@uxwbill Im not sure what it was. It was some type of chemical that you spray your deck with and it protected it. It was like the cheapo version of thompsons water seal. It was possibly deadly to poison ivy because every PI plant I put it on shriveled up and also my feet stopped itching. I had athlete's foot for a long time and i no longer have it but it does try to come back but I have foot spray.
This is one of the dangers of conducting a smoke test. Not only it'll put your computer power supply out of its misery, along with any other computer components, but it is also bad for your lungs

Awaiting a new kitchen table repair job or a trip around the farm starting cars from the 80‘s 😢 I just hope live didn’t kick in and made everything boring… sometimes with age comes the loneliness as everything worth doing has been done and what’s left is just to work, eat, sleep and that’s it! Then as now, my videos track closely with what I'm interested in and doing in real life. They are and always have been something I do for fun, and not a job or obligation. (Amazingly, there are people who have argued with me about this. I guess they think I don't know myself?) All of the 1980s Buick cars are long gone, as are the Chrysler K cars. I don't see any more of them appearing in future. I have a good job that I enjoy (mostly), though I am very busy as a result and oftentimes just out of energy when I get home. Sometimes I seriously consider making a video about something and it just starts to look too much like work, which oftentimes is enough to put me off of it. Of the other things you mentioned, more will certainly be said about them in future. I make no guarantee as to when, because I don't really know myself. I will admit I have become a little "burned out" on RU-vid. It's not as much fun as it used to be, and the spontaneous energy behind making a video doesn't show up as often any more. Still, I have no intention to stop making videos. And even if I did, everything that's been uploaded here would remain available for as long as I could keep it that way.
@@uxwbill Hmm. I've only ever heard the Billy Thorpe version, I don't know how much of his music was played in America, he was an Australian musician, he died in 2006 or 2007. I'm starting to wonder if The Coasters originally recorded it and The Aztechs covered it. I was listening to The Aztechs version this morning.
@@uxwbill The Rolling Stones also recorded a version of it, 2 in fact, and I only just found that out? Apparently The Coasters version from 1959 is the original.
