So old :( , I remember we were at a very small venu in Panama city beach well after, way over crowded, the pit grew and busted out the windows, but shit I got to see them live in a small place, best night of my life. They stopped cause some kids / chicks were getting trampled. Stand up guys, but so hardcore.
I met these guys in Winston Salem, NC close to 20 years ago after seeing them we stopped at a Waffle House on the way back and they happened to be there eating too. I was having car trouble and they helped me get my car up and running again. Top notch dudes and a memory I'll never forget.
I remember seeing those guys in 2003 at the glasshouse in Pomona California. Just as the nerdy breakdown hit, bass player smashed singer in the forehead. Screaming as blood run down his face. It was epic!
Can’t believe this is 22 years ago… so glad they are still playing shows here and there. Wish they’d release a new song or something! Favorite band forever
seeing them next friday in BROOKLYN .. saw them about 12 years ago ,, wont be the same.. were both alot older and there members have changed.. but goddamn i am gonna party like its 2003
Derek Miller now playing in Sleigh Bells. He is still a great guitarist, but it's just sad he's not playing in a hardcore band anymore. Glad I got to see them in 2003 when they were touring for their third and best album.
@@InstazomeASMR don't like it? Don't watch the videos/go to shows. It's as simple as that. Check out vids of stuff you love instead of something you don't. When the fuck will people learn to love more than hate.
This fest was insane. The cloud from the humidity that formed on the last day..haha Also holy shit I’m old. Does anyone have the set from the band Craig uploaded?
Damn, I was born the year before this and it's sad I'll never get to see them play a set like this or be the dude diving from the sky at their set. :'(
Yes and no. Poison the Well and Eighteen Visions were massively influential, but bands like Botch, Coalesce, Converge, Integrity, Earth Crisis, Rorschach, Zao, Disembodied, Burnt By the Sun, Shai Hulud, Deadguy, and Kiss It Goodbye basically pioneered metallic hardcore/metalcore.
ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-7cdeSlao9tE.html They played at the same festival. There is a Hellfest 2001 DVD that's one of the greatest compilations of live music ever recorded in my mind. There's footage of both of these bands among many of the greats during this time.
the man who originally started the festival sold the name. so now, it resides in the hands of commerce & is bastardized from what it's original incarnation and intent was for. there are "hellfests" overseas now...
Happy Ardinto Hellfest '04 happened, there was a riot that costed a lot of money because of damage, and Hellfest '05 got cancelled because of it. There's people who claim otherwise but the evidence is out there. Its not hard to connect the dots.
@@xretroxvibex also, the insurance for the event sky rocketed. The show eventually went to europe. If you do a search you can find it. The fest has turned more into a black metal/power metal fest. Good bands never the less. Just not the hardcore show showcased in these historic videos.
Yeah I remember they had to refund like all of the tickets in 05' then they moved it to France. I had the 2003 DVD and was super bummed they were moving it over seas.
