Fun Detail: Aside from Flying and Bug, which are just conditions that animals follow, Poison is the most realistic typing, as there are tons of animals that have venom and poison. This might explain why the most plentiful typing in Gen 1 was Poison

Here's an updated version of this video: Gen 8: the new pokémon were Sneasler and Overqwil, introduced in Leyends Arceus (oh excuse me, Arkoos). The new moves were Barb Barrage, the signature move of Hisuian Qwilfish and Overqwil with 60 BP and 100 ac with a 30% to poison, that doubles its BP if the target has a status condicion. In gen 9 its probability to poison was increased to 50, its PPs were reduces to 10, and it now doubles its power if the target is poisoned or badly poisoned. And then there's Dire claw which is the signature move of Sneasler with 60 BP and 100 acc that has an increased critical hit ratio, and has a 50% to either paralize, poison or drowsy the target. Now in gen 9 its BP was increased to 80 but now it doesn't have high chances to do critical hits. Gen 9: the new pokémon were Grafaiai, Revavroom, Glimmora, Clodsire, Iron Moth and the three heroes of Kitakami Okidogi, Munkidogi and Fezandipiti. Off these, Clodsire would go on to make the biggest impact. The new moves are Noxius Torque with 100 BP and 100 acc which is for the Navi Starmobile. And the other one is Mortal spin, the signature move of Glimmora with 30 BP and 100 acc which is a clone of Rapid spin. The specialist is Atticus, the boss of Team Star's poison crew the Navi Squad. For Salazzle, I feel like Corrosion should also remove Steel’s immunity to its Poison type moves. Because currently if Salazzle wants to poison Steel types it has to run Toxic or Poison Gas since all attacking Poison moves are still ineffective, hampering Salazzle’s Poison type coverage.

Officially, UBs aren't counted as legendaries. On the 2018 "Year of Legendaries" pokemon website they had all of the current legendaries except the UBs, and one of the quiz questions was "which of these pokemon is not a legendary pokemon?" with the answer being Pheromosa.

I'd argue that Team Galactic were subtle poison specialists in Gen IV, given that zubat, wurmple, stunky, and croagunk (as well as their evolutions) were commonly used by grunts, two of the three commanders from Diamond and Pearl used poison type aces (Skuntank and Toxicroak) and the boss Cyrus's ace was Crobat. The next most common pokemon (and the ace for the last commander) was Glameow/Purrugly, which was the version exclusive partner for the poison type Stunky.

I wouldn't count Ultra Beasts, but would count mythicals, therefor the last type to get a legendary is poison in gen 8 with Eternatus... unless more types are added later. I think UBs are in their own class because there are multiples, and even if you say there are multiples of some like semi legendaries (trios, tapu quad squad, regi Quintuplets, Lati duo, and Heatran), you can't catch multiples of them whereas Ultras Beasts you can, you the player in a given game do not run into multiples... and Let's Go isn't canon in, though Galar birds does change this. I'd put them in a class between psuedo legendaries and semi legendaries, like psuedo legendaries they're almost legendary status but not quite. Though maybe it depends on the player, for someone like me that plays for the collecting, RPG, and lore aspects the way the game was intended, vs competitive players who might count them as such? Mythicals no question asked they are legendaries, just a level above legendaries, even being called mythical legendaries sometimes.

To those wondering why poison and steel were super effective against fairy, as I hear that a lot: Fairies tend to be nature spirits, and poison affecting grass would also stand to reason it'd affect fairies in the same way. In the case of steel, iron burns fairies in the Snow White/Maleficent universe. It's all thematically consistent :3
