Normal Nuzlocke Ruleset:
1. Fainting = Death
2. Can "catch" one Ditto per Route where there is normally an encounter
3. Nickname Pokémon
Hardcore Nuzlocke Ruleset:
4. No items in battle (held items okay)
5. No leveling past the next gym leader/E4's ace (at the START of the battle)

I got kind of emotional watching this. I think we've all gotten very used to Flygon collecting his weekly dubs so to see over 3 dozen Dittos being sent screaming into the abyss was actually quite affecting.

38:50 Math With Flygon HG is unironically one of my favorite parts, I always find the tangents about probabilities of specific actions both gratifying and soul-crushing. On one hand, its kind of cool seeing something so rare. On the other hand... its usually bad rng if you're mad enough to do the math

The only thing I don't love about it is that he doesn't seem to take everything into account for the "probability of winning/losing". For example during 5 moves the opponent will have 2 misses and he gets a crit, and then he multiplies the miss odds by the crit odd but doesn't take into account that he had multiple rolls for that crit through the misses, and it didn't matter what order or combination of crits and misses, so the odds are actually much higher, like double or triple as likely.

Except he says he is calculating the probability of all of those specific events, not the probability of winning. It's a specific calculation to show the specific bad luck of that sequence

@@ClockworkMango Exactly, and a point many seem to be missing. He isn't trying to demonstrate a perfect statistical workup of the whole match. Just one specific string of occurrences. I personally find it pretty cool seeing something with a 0.3% chance of happening

SPOILERS BELOW: You know what? Even if you didn’t win the entire game, you and your Ditto army SAVED THE WORLD. So I count that as a full win in my book. Especially in this game, the Elite Four feels like a victory lap. This was another banger run! Thanks a bunch ❤

You are so right on the elite 4 and victory road feeling like a victory lap. It almost feels like postgame in a way, considering how climactic the battle with Team Plasma feels. I was honestly completely checked out of the experience once Team Plasma was beaten, it felt like I’d already won and if anything the elite 4 felt like a bit of an anticlimax.

What I love most about FlygonHG runs is that you genuinely don't know what's going to happen. A loss is often just as likely as a win. There's real suspense in these runs because of that, compared to a lot of other poketubers runs.

This challenge would be a *lot* more manageable in Gen 1, 2, or 3. As in, the speed ties would stop being a problem once the speed-boosting gym badge is obtained.

In all seriousness though, this was a very cool video. It’s been a while since we’ve seen a challenge end in failure. If you allowed yourself access to infinite choice scarves earlier you probably could have won.

This is really impressive and I'm glad it looks like so many people are enjoying it! That said, the "all one Pokémon" runs are never really my speed - they just don't feel like Nuzlockes. The party feels static and it's hard to care about individual deaths. Not commenting to dunk on it or anything, just want to give you a data point. The fact that the Dragon Gym is fully dependent on 50% outspending odds sounds terrifying. You could theoretically just miss 6 coin flips in a row a have to restart.

If I had a nickel for every time FlygonHG wiped to Ghetsis due to losing 2 speed ties, getting hit by 4 Dragon Rushes, and missing 2 Dragon Rushes, I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice.

Like other people said, I'm so used to watching you mop the floor with these challenges in the most ludicrous ways, I figured this'd be a snap as well. 37(?) encounters and just barely getting past Ghetsis is insane. Good job, the hurdles you had to pass just to reach him alone were enough to make this fun to watch.
