Bruh the literal entire purpose of pokemon is to get to love and appreciate and grow your relationship with an animal-y companion. There are pokemon that evolve using _friendship_ . Being nice to your pokemon is literally the core of the franchise, peta's just reachin too hard

This type of game makes 0 sense when you consider the pokemon world is a literal utopia where man and nature are almost entirely in harmony, essentially Peta's wet dream

As a Pokemon Fan,I hate PETA with a passion! Pokemon are our buddies and they love battling against each other.

Did they forget that ash's tepig in the b/w anime was abandoned by its previous trainer and helped by ash? And how they made a point saying doing that kind of stuff is despicable?

Don't forget that Slowpoke tails are considered to be a delicacy, and that we and our Pokémon can eat them in Sword and Shield in our curry dishes.

The fact that they took *Ash* for the villain, as a pokemon abuser, is absurd. His whole rival arc in DP was against stone strict pokemon training, and even Nuzlockers have a rule for always naming their pokemon to *form an emotional connect* .

They were always showing Pokemon battles more like sparring matches. It reminds me of the first battle with Brawly in the Advanced series, where Ash wanted to win so bad even with the cost of his Pokemon. He got scolded after the battle, specially by Nurse Joy.

Every single Pokémon fan I've met, seen, or heard of has been someone who genuinely loves animals and would _never_ deliberately harm them. Many are proud pet-owners who do their best to look after their fuzzy, feathery, or scaly buddy. Even if you can somehow twist the whole battling thing into some kind of abuse, the fact is that the franchise themes of friendship and compassion shine through in almost every medium, and the gameplay mechanics themselves support the idea that you need to love and respect your super-powered monster friend, because some of the best Pokémon evolve only through friendship, and some moves only reveal their true power when your beastie loves you. Pokémon battles are more like sparring/tournament matches in DBZ anyway. Pokémon MUST consent to battle, and they'll only put out what they're willing to. Even if they could decimate the opponent, they'll hold back for fun or fairness. And if a Pokémon doesn't like their Trainer, for one reason or another, they're fully able to release themselves from their Ball and walk away, as Snivy is stated to have done and even advises other Pokémon to do in such a scenario. Several Pokémon in the show explicitly dislike battling and _never_ get forced into by the heroes. The only time these Pokémon fight is when _the bad guys_ force them to do so. Ash and Dawn even traded their Pokémon when the Pokémon in question made it clear they wanted to do the other's thing instead, and all were happier for it. This never happens to the player because the game expects you to be a decent human being and because that would be very complicated to program, not to mention the simple fact that the player getting stuck with Pokémon that don't like battling would be frustrating, especially if it happens with their favorite species.

This is also kind of funny when you consider that Takeshi Shudo actually considered ending the anime with Ash's Pikachu becoming the leader of a Pokemon revolt against humanity with Meowth as his translator.

Yea... if PETA wants folks to be vegan or even just vegetarian, they might want to make meatless and dairy-free products more accessible than make Pokemon parodies. I love Beyond Burgers but those things are pricey.... Like something that would fit into the lore of the games and feel like something Game Freak would do is have some new Professor show off their meatless burgers made with a newly discovered berry or something. But I think PETA has an obsession with violence based on all of their other parody games.

These games feel like parodies of themselves. The people who made it are just as detestable as the villains in them.

I wonder how peta feels about grass type pokemon that specifically are more plant based and not animal based in design and functionality. Like, I cant help but notice they only used the more "mammal" like pokemon, despite the fact that all pokemon are sentiant creatures. It also seems like They also avoided fish like pokemon. Idk, but it seems to me that they knew they couldnt really push their agenda by acknowledging the existence of plant based pokemon. Just an observation.

I saw a poster ad for this stupid PETA game. I mean, they probably just said ''Oh, we've run out of ideas, let's make a Pokémon game that completely ignores the entire point of Pokémon.'' The part where COMPANIONSHIP is involved.

its funny to me that Ash ended up wearing that outfit in Journeys and the thing is when i saw that Journeys episode i was like: ''I love that suit he's wearing feels familiar.....ehh probably nothing'' and moved on not thinking twice until i saw this XD

The only thing PETA did right in this parody, is making Ghetsis one of the abusers. Ghetsis’ Hydreigon uses the move “Frustration” which is a move for Pokémon that HATES their trainer. Seems like Ghetsis’ Hydreigon isn’t even treated kindly by Ghetsis…. In the manga, Ghetsis is also really really abusive to N. There’s a scene in the manga where he bashed N’s head hard with a cane. Not only that, in the official manga, he CRUCIFIED the gym leaders, YES, CRUCIFIED. This “man” is ABSOLUTELY A MONSTER.

Other random things I noticed that I find really funny and show how little effort was put in 5:02 Snivy is weak to water types 5:15 Out of every character they could have picked to want to recapture a pokemon and say "you belong to me," they pick Ash. Does Peta not know about the episode where Ash literally tries to give up Pikachu because he thinks it'd make it more happy? What about Butterfree, Lapras, Larvitar (technically), and Pidgeot? Did those scenes not matter? Or all the times he freed wild pokemon from team rocket? Or the fact he usually asks for consent before catching pokemon? Literally any other character would work better its hilarious 9:54 Grimace looses its coloring after being hit, getting the oshowatt victory face treatment

What peta doesn't understand is that pokemon like those battles. Since they do it in the wild by themselves too. Trainers will help them learning certain moves, strategies and gain more experience to evolve. It is just a sport in the pokemon world.

People do technically eat meat in Pokémon, but it it usually without Pokémon harm, such as slowpoke tails, which slowpoke do not really care about because they are basically oblivious to everything, and they regrow. The same goes for crabrawler picers, which fall of after enough punching, which also regrow.

This is weird to me as I am a Christian, vegan and I play pokemon. There's nothing wrong with the video game as they don't die they faint, no blood or guts and healed by nurse joy also it's a game not real life which is different. I like looking after pokemon and a researcher. The understanding of the universes more then a collector. I don't agree about not wearing wool or alpaca local farms as its cruelty free. PETA disagree with me lol but it's actually cruel leaving sheep or alpaca wool without shaving too its unhygienic and unclean so it's weird. I do respect them don't get me wrong but they go over the board with it to the extent like a addiction to their life spam. You do know the difference between real life and a game, to fashion shops and a local farm.

As a Gen 5 fan this honestly hurts me. Especially the supporting Team Plasma parts, like did they actually play the game? A majority of Team Plasma was straight up evil, It's funnier since they're basically supporting themselves. It can only be learned by the grunts and the two leaders. Nintendo and Gamefreak are finding a way to take down both games.

Hot take peta is insane. When you get down to brass tacs animal testing might not be the most ethical but its necessary and if peta wants to say no dont eat or harm animals they should volunteer themselves.
