Thank you Ilca (Especially Shota Kageyama) for making a totally different yet fitting version from the Gym Leader. The small part from the Guitar is very epic!
Nah… I still find it lame… this should have been the Gym Theme and the Elite Four should have gotten an entirely new yet familiar theme. Honestly at this point only DeNa gets the whole praise from me for their battle themes. Not only do they give all trainers that didn’t have a theme before one, no they go and give each Elite Four Member a own version of their theme and even the likes of Archie and Maxie als well as Steven and Wallace get their own version, even Red and Lance. These guys got it and oh yeah do they got it right.
Shota Kageyama brought a small doze of "Pokemon Masters Vibe" to the Sinnoh E4 Battle Theme. Even though I wish they would add more, I really find it to be really good.
@@Sorbetrhedd Actually, no, they're right. Japanese's official name of Elite Four is "Four Heavenly Kings" (even if all were females) This is a reference to 4 guardian deities in Buddhism, presiding over the four cardinal directions. The other Japanese name is *The Big Four,* which doesn't sound nearly as epic.
@@aksis2133 oh yeah definitely. The Unova Elite Four theme is actually my favourite Elite Four theme. I think it has instruments that represent all four of its members well
Flint then: “Haha metal snake go brrrrr…” Flint now: “Go on. Laugh. You won’t be laughing when my Steelix hits you with a sheer force + life orb boosted Fire Fang.”
to be fair, his team with less fire types is way scarier as its more balanced and harder to fully counter, that drifblim minimize+baton pass into infernape combo can be such a run killer
his first team is actually very fire based, just not fire type. Driftblim is a hot air ballon Steelix? you need hot fire to smelt steel lopunny... uh yeah. just hot.
I love how everybody expected the Gym Leaders/E4/Champion to be nerfed in the remakes but instead they were buffed. This might just be the hardest E4 in all of Pokemon
@@m.m.2341 the permanent exp share does prove itself to be kinda necessary once you get to the E4 lol (talk about a level spike). I’d say the main thing that makes the game easier though would be affection, which doesn’t have a cap in this game to keep the effects from kicking in.
@@CaptainObliviousV You almost need affection to beat Cynthia, though. I battled every trainer and did quite a bit in the Grand Underground. My team was between Level 60 to 67 when I started the League and I honestly felt underleveled.
@@LinkMountaineer I managed to sweep the entirety of the Elite Four with mostly my Level 70 Swords Dance Garchomp, which I grinded up on purpose. I also destroyed most of Cynthia's team in the same fashion, but her Garchomp outsped mine, which I believe is due to EV-training and a +Spd nature (I EV-trained mine in Spd, but I didn't have a +Spd nature) I managed to pull off a win by having Luxray and Staraptor repeatedly Intimidate her Garchomp, as well as whittle her down with priority moves and Staraptor's Endeavor. A good amount of Revives and Full Restores were consumed, to say the least. Yes, I beat the Elite Four on my first run, but this is probably the toughest Elite 4 in the franchise, but maybe my inner Sinnoh fanboy is blinding me.
@@LinkMountaineer yeah, I didn't have a problem with the elite four, probably because I prepared for each, but Cynthia I struggled with because of her Garchomp, I easily beat the rest of her team but then Garchomp sweeps my team
Who's idea was it to have Flint's Drifblim get Minimize and let it Baton Pass into Infernape? Because that literally almost ended my first run of the Elite 4, like jeez
My Luxray just ate the close combats with a few potions, then i spent like 4 turns trying to land a thunderbolt, only to learn i needed to land 2 because full restores. I did manage that somehow
Idr what Pokémon i used but it was definitely either my Dialga, Mew or Jirachi who led that fight. Because they all knew atleast one move that would have been super effective
@@virtualcolt i mean, they are the elite four. They are the four most powerful trainers of a region apart from the champion. IG they have responsibilities to protect the region from threats like Dialga or Kyogre (even though we never see them doing it in the games)
@@delbertwang8722 Well, not even, right? The Frontier Brains, for example, are waaaay tougher than the E4 and champion, even counting rematch teams. And there are other instances where the rivals also beat the E4 but lose to you, making them stronger than the E4 and weaker than the champion
But their first teams are no pushovers whatsoever. If you come in their thinking that you’re the shit, well you’re in for death and destruction. Especially from Aaron’s Heracross and Flint’s Drifblim
its better that they do use it than not have it at all in the rematch. besides this gives it more diversity, things you wouldnt expect from Elite trainers. plus it gives the Elite in Elite four an actual reason because despite deviating from the typing, *they know how to efficiently use those Pokemon to reflect their type specialty*
@@lyonvensa eh, after going through it and the rematch, i gotta say, in flint case specially, his diamond team is waaay scarier than the platinum one, as in the type diversity makes it much more harder to counter and in turn making it a much fun and challenging E4 than usual, even more so thanks to the revamped movesets with proper IVs, EVs, natures and held items
Finally!! After all these Years, it’s easier to tell the difference between the Gym Leader theme and the Elite Four theme without having to listen carefully In all seriousness, I’m glad they made it sound more different by adding guitars to it. Thank You ILCA.
For anyone new to this Elite 4, DO NOT UNDERESTIMATE THEM. These guys are the toughest in the franchise and have teams that can run circles around you.
Imagine beating Cynthia with three different teams on your first playthrough, with it getting progressively harder. Imagine the sheer WILLPOWER it'd take to be a fool to have played Diamond excited for the remakes, then have fun by raising post game teams to beat the league with- after using your main story team. Even going as far as specifically choosing Kricketune to Perish Song a Level 88 Garchomp as your Greatest Plan. I'm uh... talking about me. I was that fool. It was a lot of fun though. I felt so accomplished that my teams brought me to tears of absolute JOY. Also, the Kricketune plan worked out so well. But, I was definitely unprepared. I wanted to go in without knowing anything. I knew the DP teams, but, wasn't expecting to have my cheeks clapped. That stupid Drifblim can burn! Main Story: Torterra (Grousiin) Luxray (Sparky) Floatzel (Swez)- Kind of a reference to the word "Swag" Absol (Disaster)- No reference, I just was bad at naming my Pokèmon in 2012 Houndoom (DoomFlame)- Reference to the typing of Houndoom, Fire/ Dark; also portmanteau of "Doomsday" and Flame". Dialga (Tymelor)- Pun on the name "Tyler" and word "Time Lord" Post Game Team 1: Lucario (Demetrius) Glaceon (DeepFreeze)- Reference to the Ice type Mightyena (Taikezy) Arcanine (Ellie Rose)- Reference to Fleeing the Complex/ The Henry Stickmin Collection Furret (Mocha Cookie) Lanturn (Xefiro) Post Game Team 2: Skuntank (Setoro) Kricketune (Zykrindia) Empoleon (Kallian Antiqua)- Reference to Xenoblade 1 Typhlosion (Biron)- I guess a reference to Canalave Gym Leader Byron? Flygon (Vidogonis) Froslass (Franziceska Von Karma)- Reference to Manfred Von Karma's Daughter, Franziska Von Karma; Also is a pun of the name "Franziska" and word "Ice". And yes, my Diamond team was similar to the main team of Brilliant Diamond, but, with a Lucario instead of Absol and a Honchkrow named after Arsene Lupin, The Gentleman Thief and Pillager Of Twilight. Mainly referencing Persona 5, but, that one also references Maurice Leblanc's Gentleman Thief, Arsene Lupin.
Tbh, I be perfectly fine if they skip gen 5 getting a remake because they already perfect games in my opinion. Plus, they age really well for anyone to get into.
Allow me to introduce the elite four No 1:Bug trainer/the jungle book protagonist No 2:cute and calm grandma No 3:Our minecraft item that got separated from steel No 4:The coolest guy in my opinion/the librarian
Just one day, i hope that we get a Normal Type user in the Elite Four. Somebody whos like cynthia tier difficult but with normals. Knows how to handle coverage and doesnt just get instaswept by close combat.
There are enough terrifying normal types for that to happen for sure. Indeedee, Porygon Z, staraptor, Snorlax, Pyroar all would be great. Hisuian Zoroark would be excellent too
THIS ACTUALLY ISN'T A PITCHED DOWN GYM LEADER THEME ANYMORE BEST UPGRADE. That said: PSA: THIS ELITE FOUR DOES NOT SCREW AROUND. Even if we joke about Flint's team not having Fire-types in his initial fight, let me say: DRIFBLIM.
Ngl, it only makes me feel worse about the state of the game Imagine how challenging the new Elite Four would've been if they kept Platinum's mechanics
That's called poor difficulty balancing. When the devs added EXP ALL, it caused such a problem they only bothered fixing up the elite four for nostalgia, and leaving everything else the same.
The minimize of Flint's drifblim still haunts me in my nightmares, no joke man, that baton pass with minimize to infernape is such a brutal combination especially because that infernape knows things like close combat, flare blitz and thunder punch
Thank you Flint for making me feel 9 again by having it take 15 minutes to beat your minimizing strength sapping Drifblim baton passing to your Infernape.
Oh my god... These fools were so hard to kill tho. Especially Flint and Lucian. Basically, my strategy was set up, then sweep. But Flint and Lucian just did NOT let me. That Rapidash just spammed hypnosis and almost ruined me. I only survived because my Chimeco was being an anime protagonist, evaded an attack while sleeping, AND woke up on the same turn, finishing that annoying fire monkey off. I'm lucky I had one shot his balloon, otherwise... Yikes. And Lucian just would not stop setting up screens. And when his clown did go down, he sent out fricking Girafarig, and ruined me with trick room, using my own Sticky Web against me. It was awful. He almost swept me.
Lucian setting up those damn screens was so annoying. Also for some reason his bronzong was faster than my rapidash who had already set up two flame charges.
The theme of: Beautifly used Quiver Dance! Heracross used Facade/Rock Slide! Drapion used Night Slash/Cross Poison! A CRITICAL HIT! Quagsire used Recover! Sudowoodo used Head Smash! Golem used Rock Polish! Rapidash used Hypnosis! Steelix used Iron Tail! Drifblim used Minimize! Drifblim used Strength Sap! Drifblim used Baton Pass! The foe's Infernape avoided the attack! Mr. Mime used Reflect! Mr. Mime used Light Screen! Girafarig used Trick Room! Medicham used High Jump Kick! Alakazam used Nasty Plot! Bronzong used Trick Room! Bronzong used Gyro Ball!
more like: Drifblim used Minimize! (you miss) Drifblim used Minimize! (you miss) Drifblim used Minimize! (you miss) Drifblim used Minimize! (you miss) Drifblim used Minimize! (Drifblim’s evasion won’t go any higher!) Drifblim used Baton Pass! Elite Four Flint sent out Infernape! Infernape used Mach Punch! (you miss) Infernape used Close Combat! ________ fainted! You have no more pokemon that can battle! You gave $11,606 to the winner… You were overwhelmed by your defeat! _You scurry back to the Pokémon Center, protecting your Pokémon from any further harm…_
This is literally my favorite elite four theme. It’s intense but not chaotic sounding. I just wish the base was louder at 0:05 like in the original. But besides that it’s very catchy. Most elite four themes are very chaotic sounding and hard to remember the melody but this one is so clear and catchy.
On one hand it’d be kinda sad not having a bug E4 member (though tbf we actually don’t have an electric one yet), but at the same time it’d be dope to see a bug specialist as the 8th gym leader
The bug-guy with his Heracross was hard for me. I came confident because I had a higher level and he broke my ass like 4 times ._. The ilca guys did a very good job with the difficulty of the game, love this remake♡
Ahh yes! The Murder 4! went in blind and had a way tougher time than i remembered and then found out they had been buffed! and naturally Cynthia demolished me. Good times!
Lopunny is the only Pokémon in the game that is used as a substitude for the main type I think is a real strech. I know what could be the reason. I just think the reason is dumb.
*Drapion use Night slash* It's a critical hit! *Drifblim use mimize and baton pass. Switch out to infernape.* Your Attacks missed. *Mr. Mime uses Light Screen and Reflect* Me: God dammit can y'all please stop! Cynthia in the back: Hello, young trainer.
Man, what with this Elite 4 members. I thought they were going to tbe exactly like the ones from Diamond and Pearl, but no... THEIR POKÉMON EVEN HAVE HIDDEN ABILITIES! This Elite 4 and Champion were pure evil.
Did a steel Mono run Even with only 2 fire types, Flint was an absolute beast to face. Empoleon definitely helped a lot but the High Jump Kicks from Lopunny was Annihilating my team left and right and don't get me started on the Infernape
Yeah, just get a Houndoom from the Grand Underground. Namely the Volcanic/Dazzling Cave. That canine is a powerful fire breathing dog that can think bad thoughts to boost its Special Attack.
God, when I heard tis song live on my stream, I was shocked how good of a theme this has been. I really hoped they would do a atleast very different feeling song from the Gym Leader one. and they delivered... hard I really love the guitar in that. Like AAAA im just such a sucker for Electric Guitars
Ah yes, The bug specialist with drapion as an ace GAMEFREAK THIS IS THE THIRD OLD LADY IN THE ELITE 4 IN 4 GENERATIONS. Old Ronald McDonald had 2 fire types e i e i o. The second strongest trainer in the region, And leading with a Mr. Mime. (For legal reasons this is a joke)
Oh, they made them way harder. Not even just stat wise, strategy wise. Minimize baton pass Drifblim, flame orb marvel scale Milotic, they spared nobody.
I just did my first Elite Four run overnight, my mons are between Levels 50 and 60 or whatever and what made me lose was Lucian’s ALAKAZAM AND DRIFLIM HOLY MOTHER OF PEARL
Everyone is talking about Flint's Drifblim and I'm just like: "What was the threat?" Both joking and genuine, I'm pretty sure I knocked it out before it could be a real threat. :/
imo this is the most underrated pokemon theme - not the best by any means but a huge improvement over the original just because of the guitar alone, really really nice
Honestly as lazy as it seems it's cool that the themes, especially the original ones, were so close between the gym and elite four themes It's really fitting, especially since elite four are really strong gym leaders, I like how the tone difference implies that
I still wonder why in the hell did they think it was a good idea to include an elite four member that specializes in fire types in a region where there's only 2 fire-type species available (not including post-game).
When I got up to the elite four I thought “well this theme is just gonna be the gym the-“ I hear the guitar and damn that theme caught me off guard and it hyped me up- …Then I got to Cynthia
Grandma and her staller Quagsire is the only time I've ever genuinely wanted to punch a wall with this game. Not even any of Cynthia's Pokemon made me that tilted. I was somehow prepared for anything except her bullshit.
Round 1 & 3 were def the hardest ones for me Round 1 was hard because I was NOT prepared for them to have max EVs and IVs. I made sure my team was on their level and a bit lower. Round 2: i was better prepared, I reset my teams Evs, caught 2 new members and Ev trained them after i got the power items and i was closer to cynthias level and didnt struggle much Round 3: i only leveled some of my team members a few levels higher but they were around Aarons level. Plus i was not expecting them to have different mons Cynthia is by no means a pushover. She'll def push you down a cliff but man am i glad i finished it
nope, they all look weird. and the OG flint had more of that Fire in him, kinda looking like Sidney's fierce look. i liked that made me feel like this guy was no pushover.
