Welcome back! Today I have another Physical Rom Hack Cartridge Review! This time I'm taking a look at Pokémon Brown Version! This amazing game was created by Koolboyman all the way back in 2004, and was also the first ROM Hack I had ever heard of and played. Needless to say I was excited to try this game out!
Just like last time I intend to take a look at this product I bought and see how/if it works and note anything else I might have noticed or thought about the game.

Brown and prism are legit. Could pass as official if you didn't follow pokemon and picked it up you would think you missed out on a classic. Ps: I think the group is N-som-ni-art like a play on the word insomniac. Also your prof oak impression is great

Finished this game a couple months back and all I can say is wow! Great story and plays just as if it were a actual gen 1 game made by game freak. Highly recommend it.

I have the physical cartridge bought it last year with an actual battery if you buy rom hacks I recommend to make sure they have a battery

Don’t know it anyone will get this, but speaking about things in games being out of place. I love Dark Souls 2, but I always found funny that in the area with all the poison and with Mytha - poison snake lady - the area just kinda looks like it goes up into the clouds once you get to the top. After beating mytha, you take an elevator that leads into the sky , but really it leads to a castle with lava and crap everywhere. Literally makes no sense, but I love it anyway. P.S. loved the video and actually downloaded Pokemon Brown onto my everdrive to play on my OG gameboy

I want to make PokéMon Purple which, would get a DLC called the Jade DLC, so it's kinda Gen 1 with the main game and Gen 2 with the DLC!

@@HDDoggyStyle No as is I don't have the resources and it's jist a loose concept however oneday who knows! It would be a Crystal Romhack where the main game is more in the style of gen 1 and the add-on would be more in the style of gen 2! I started a different version of the concept at one point that would've been a 3D open world Fan-Game instead but that's too much!

I loved Brown so much back then when it came out. Does the cartridge version save? I have some bootleg ones from years back that didn't. So I might pick this one up.

What you should check out I have physical game hack and all them use a battery make sure it comes with a battery or else when you make to elite four it won’t save when you beat the champion you’ll be stuck facing the champion over and over

Yes, you can play all gameboy games on a GBA

my biggest question i guess, is can pokemon be traded back and forth from brown and prism?

At least with my copy of Prism no. All of the trading and battle mechanics are disabled. Perhaps in a different version but not between my copies

@@Vadermods a few yes, not every game can, and it's sort of hit or miss on which ones are compatible with each other

Yes you can, I have an Atomic purple gameboy pocket and it runs on there just fine!

do you know where to get a version that has the 2014 revision, or at the very least the 2009? I've asked a couple etsy sellers and they all only have the 2004, which is really strange

It's actually a modded GBC. A teal one and I used a drop in backlight screen and changed the buttons to white. Not hard at all if you ever wanted to try

In my experience with this cartridge I came across some minor visual bugs. Occasionally certain moves would display in the top corner when used. Nothing that would prevent you from playing the game

It's my old GBC, I used a drop in backlight screen so no soldering. I also changed the screen lens and buttons to white

I believe it's the final version of the game. But I could be wrong. I don't have any way of checking that at the moment.

Are those roms powered by a battery to keep save files ?

My copy of Pokémon Brown does have a battery, I'm not sure if every copy from other sites will be the same

I've seen many websites that have Brown for download. I haven't done it myself recently so I don't know how any websites are currently I recommend doing a bit of research before downloading.
