I love this song more than temporal tower. Mostly because of it's nostalgia and it feels like you are racing up the tower, knowing if you fail everyone will die. The Pokemon might not die if you failed to keep time running in the second game, but would certainly in the first game. This has such an urgency to it, but a calming factor, like playing a professional game of a sport. You have to try your hardest to succeed, but keep a calm body and mind as well.
Oh, that' fine, but imo I like Temporal's better. The first part of it makes you feel like time is speeding up right before it ends, and if you don't hurry, welll... you know what happens. Then the second part makes me think about how the theme is slow like time is going to stop soon, especially with the clock ticking in the background. You and your partner slow down with the song after a painful journey to face the end (or in my case time is about to run out because you've lost a previous battle against Dialga and you have to go back to fight him.) I still love sky tower's theme, but I just feel like Temporal helps to really portray the situation your partner and you are in. But I haven't played PMD 1 yet, so I might not know how it feels in person.
@@thebrightstartt9294 If you get a chance to play it I would highly recommend it. It's story may not be as active as Explores but it defiantly feels more grounded to me, more real. The first one out of all of them is my favorite for that reason.
@@flamepalkia5076 For me, Rescue Team embraced that your bond with your partner is stronger than anything and the game does this very well. Nobody's there for you but your partner and you both thought through everything the world threw at you. Explorers builds on environmental story-telling and adds a lot of character to well, the characters. There's so much detail in all the characters to every day you progress, and probably why all the guild members are so memorable. They also made it so that you were the one for them,(taking a reverse role of rescue team almost) the one that pushed your partner to their goals and dreams and discovering their true potential. You were there when they needed you. That's from the moment they discovered you on the beach to the moment you both finally defeat dialga. Sad fate for both games is that when the world is safed and your job is done you're gone. For Rescue Team, Gone back to your old world now that your purpose is over. For Explorers, Gone from your existence now that you've guided your partner to achive their purpose and the same goal as grovyle and you so your purpose is over.
@@npne1253 You know those are fair points and I can agree to some degree. For me personally it has always been about the team not the bond with the partner but i can definitely see it now.
For me temporal tower feels like a final level whereas sky tower feels like the climax of an adventure. Still though, my nostalgia lies with temporal tower.
:'-) Happy memories. I was stuck on gengar, so I did what any normal gamer would do, level grind. (I would be killed by curse every time) I level grinded to level 38! I only then beat him. I was a charmander with a treecko partner. I was shaking (in excitement) when I finally beat him. This game gives nostalgia, but I'll give credit to the main games as well. My first Pokemon game was pokemon ranger. I was 8. Yeah... not a good combo. Thank you for this wonderfu pianol remix, thank you so much.
This song is a song that is epic the first time you go through sky tower and emotional the second time. Realizing it's symbolizing how you know what will happen at the end is sad but the song is also epic to remind you that you accepted that from the start and you have to save everyone.
This is beautiful... Heavenly in fact... Enough to put tears in my eyes... I've been listening to your arrangements for a while now, but I think this is the most emotional and beautiful... I'd like to subscribe now, but I can't on a mobile gadget... But I am definitely gonna subscribe once I get back home...
@Bespinben I can't upload it because of some laws.=( And it was totally playable, we faced some problems, but the music didn't cause any problems. We had to tune pianos a little bit. But in scale of 1-10, we NAILED IT!
@xrceus OH MY GOSH. You actually found other sheet music for this song!? You see, part of the reason I arranged this was because I could find no sheet music for Sky Tower, so you finding that blows my mind. If you wouldn't mind, would you share where you found it with me? I really would like to see how this person interpreted the song. Hehe, thanks! =D Glad you like it
@PsychoxGizmo Haha, thanks! I've only had the video up for three days now, so I wouldn't imagine that it would be loaded with views. That, and it seems most people are more interested in remixes than transcriptions. If you do decide to try to learn this, you have to have two pianos (maybe a piano and a keyboard [less expensive that way]). I'm also open to learning my own duets, so if you want to do a video collaboration to perform any of my arrangements, then don't hesitate to ask ;)
@xrceus lolololol :) Oh you silly :3 That version of "Sky Tower" on Ninsheetmusic just happens to be co-created by myself :P The main arranger "Clanker37" used my duet arrangement to make his solo arrangement.
@guywiththeredpikmin :O That's freakin' awesome!!! I can't wait for the moment you upload a video of that :D Now that someone has actually played one of my arrangements, I'd like some feedback on the playability of this arrangement. Were there any passages that you or your friend had trouble with? Did my repeat structures confuse you at all? Are there any errors in the score itself I need to fix?
YOU! @Bespinben i will try to do a cover of guitar with this XD i'm not sure about it, i love the freakin game XD and the songs in it XD its my favorite one! thanks dude! for making the arrangement! :)
@CaDeYbOi (cont.) However, if by "busy with" you meant trying to actually learn to play, I can say that I have been trying to learn my own arrangement of Temporal Tower. It's quite enjoyable, as the last time I actually learned one of my own arrangements was when I made a sheet of "N's Farewell" (can be found on Ninsheetmusic :3)
@xrceus It might seem that way because of my chordal choices; I had to adapt the original string harmonies to fit on the left hand. However, it's probably more likely that you think I put the melody an octave too low, which is not the case at all, if you listen to the original. A lot of remixes, such as Pokeremixstudio's, add a piccolo line to the original flute line, making it sound an octave higher than the original. You may be so used to these remixes that you think my arrangement is too low.
I really hope that you read this, sadly the pdf doesn't work and my brother and I want to learn this song together. Is there any possibility that I can reach out to you and we could solve this? Regards, J
The only bad thing about this on piano is it doesn't quite give off the whole heated feeling of the original, but I would still give this 10/10, because piano isn't really the sort of instrument to pull off that whole "Heated" feel, in my opinion. This would be fitting in game before you go into the tower, I think.
Depends on the song really. I think I mananged to recreate the intensity of the original song in my Primal Dialga piano duet fairly well. Sky Tower is a different kind of intense, one that, due to its instrumentation, percussions, and multiplicity of parts, make recreating that feeling in piano format difficult.
@CamJar99 Ah that's what you meant! Well, glad to help ya :) I have a special surprise upload coming up in the near future, and it doesn't involve sheet music or piano :3 I'm dying to give you s hint, but I can't think of something that wouldn't be an obvious giveaway........ are you familiar with multitracking?
@Bespinben I don't play piano at home 'cause I don't have any room for piano and schools pianos are free. I have the perfomance on tape, but some law says that a video filmed in public spaces is not allowed to put internet or a blog or something like that, without the permission of all the people showed in the video. AND THERE WERE LOTS OF PEOPLE! I can only use the video for private stuff as long as it stays private. I could go to jail in the worst case. =(
I just found the solo version on your Forum thread post and I'm learning it right now. BTW I have a question, in the beginning where you play the music box part and the flute and choir, are you suppose to use your right hand for the music box part? I feel more comfortable that way.
Easily one of my favourite piano arrangements of Pokémon. Nice job. I also did mean to ask you, by the way: I recall that you use Finale, if I'm not mistaken? If so: How did you get your file from Finale on to here? I am struggling a bit with making that part of Finale work how I'd like it to.
Goldie's music experiments I actually started using Finale after I made this Sky Tower arrangement -- this was made in Sibelius. Not that it matters that much, but fact of the day, hehe :)What I do to make my sheet music videos (in their most basic form), is I take screenshots of each system in my sheet, and synchronize them to an audio recording (usually MIDI generated, but sometimes live-recorded) in some sort of video-editing software (Windows Movie Maker, Sony Vegas Movie Studio, etc.).
+Goldie's music experiments Can you use Scorch in Sibelius to do what you want it to? Play back while seeing the score? ~~just a thought, I haven't played with it that way.
An awesome person happened to upload a cover of him and his piano teacher playing my Sky Tower duet not too long ago. You should check it out! Just search "sky tower piano duet" - it's 2nd from the top.
@CaDeYbOi "By the way, which song are you busy with at the moment?" Busy as in working on? Erm, I tend to work sporadically on various things on my to-do list in no particular order, but I can say that of late I have been working diligently on solo piano arrangements of Temporal Spire and Primal Dialga, as well as tediously re-writing all my older arrangements made in Sibelius into Finale so I can export an .mus, thereby allowing me to submit the sheet to Ninsheetmusic.
Solamente un poquito. My response to CamJar was as such because his comment was unintelligible, so I made a joke of that by comparing it to an unknown foreign language.
