I decided to upload this because I have only seen videos for the ZZAZZ glitch on pokemon yellow, and the glitching there is quite different from Red/Blue.
Anyway, this video shows me performing the glitch, which allows me to manipulate the game's RAM and warp to the Hall of Fame, completing the game without collecting a single badge.

I'll explain this so you might understand. Encountering the glitch trainer "ZZAZZ" changes everything to the value of 99. 99 takes up the variables of Level 153, The mover Explosion, And the Letter Z. But this glitch ignores every multiple of three.

and also, if the player name has at least 4 letters, all will be Z except multiples of three.

The formal definition of a multiple of 3 is any number that three divides evenly or any number for which 3 is a factor To have three as a factor, the number has to be equal to 3 times something. So 99 is in fact a multiple of 3. 99/3 - 33. It divides evenly. No more further division is required. 3, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18, 21, 24, 27, 30, 33, 36. 39, 42, 45, 48, 51, 54, 57, 60, 63, 66, 69, 72, 75, 78, 81, 84, 87, 90, 93, 96, 99 . These are all multiples of 3. Was THAT hard to do?

Yup. The way the memory registers work, the party memory is before the item memory, which is before the registers for where doors and stuff will go. by having more than 20 slots in your inventory, you can place an item into a register it shouldn't be in, changing the value. By changing the register designated to that item to hex 79 (the code that the corrupted Bike has), then the warp sends him to the entrance of the hall of fame, where a preset event finished the game for him. Hope this helped.

Did the game glitch really put your gameboy on fire? I did not know glitches could do that. I do not think they would have programmed something like a baker device uses to bake food, but glitches can cause random effects, and they're unintentional.

Trying to fight the trainer makes the game crash, at least for me. Everytime I attacked him, my game froze. Anyway, I only used this bug to beat the game in an unusual way. In a normal gameplay, I agree that ZZAZZ should never be used. Good luck completing the pokedex!

The ZZAZZ glitch must act differently depending on the special stat, right? I did the ZZAZZ glitch with a special stat of 253 and the results were very different. I did it again with a special stat of 255 and the results were similar to this, except my game crashed if I tried to heal my pokemon. Also...I did it from Lavender Town and when the poison flash happened, the music changed to something freaky sounding.

Generally speaking, the ZZAZZ glitch is caused by the invalid money data of the death trainer. Google for "2945: p4wn3r's SGB Pokémon Red in 41:02.38" for more info. (I can't post the link here)

I used a glitch that levels the pokemon from level 1 to level 100 immediately, there must be a video out there that explains it. However, the reason I got the lv100 Kadabra is to have a pokemon with a special of 254 to actually start the glitch. The trainer is not too strong, just throw a pokeball and you'll run away from him.

@whisperkin It didn't really turn into a Bulbasaur, its sprite did in the Hall Of Fame. This is a side effect of the ZZAZZ glitch. :)

I wouldn't say randomly. He went to a specific item in his inventory. I believe this helped pick the map area to spawn at after the battle.

special 253 is not ZZAZZ trainer. only 251,252,254,255 are.

@StarShine480 You should try with specials 252 and 254, they are the most stable ones. Even with them, the game can crash though. Try emptying your inventory, it worked for me to avoid the crash. Close to nothing is known about the side effects of this glitch, it may have very different behaviors depending on the location you are and even the way you walk through the map.

I don't remeber why, but it writes over memory with the same value you as z/(same index number for bulbasaur), except for every bite that's a multiple of three.

The index number for Bulbasaur is hex:99 or dec:153, and the ZZAZZ glitch overwrites a lot of memory with the value hex:99. Therefore, those Pokémon became Bulbasaur.

I did this a few years ago and my file wasn't deleted, although it was messed up. The loading time was awful and it would take like a minute just to get to an area, after I started over it was fine

at least, that's the way it worked in pokemon yellow. I'm not an expert on pokemon red glitches, not the ZZAAZZ one in particular... It looked the same, at least.

I attempted to do this glitch but my name didn't change and my pokemon were not poisoned. All that happened was that it said, "Max repel has worn off" and I didn't even use one!

Sorry, but I really have no idea. if you do this glitch, you'll lose your save file, but you can start a new game normally after that. If the game had problems right when you bought it, the cartridge is probably damaged.

@originalgyarados OMG sry for replying so late, youtube didn't warn me of your comment. The glitches I uploaded require me to fight a pokemon with an extraordinary high special stat, and these pokemon are very hard to find in the wild, so I get a pokemon with the stat I need and fight a Ditto, which mimics the stats of my pokemon.

I have quite a glitch i had. i was just teaching cut to my first pokemon, and once i finally got it to start working, it said 'HM01 Booted up, contained Screech'. I wanted to kill the captain

i know that a pokeball makes yourun but if you fight he is said to be really hard to beat i wouldnt use this glitch coz i just got my new red and finished it on the way to spain lol beat gary with just lv 52 charizard and have seen 134 pokemon and have mew lol reply back i will look for that video to go straight to 100 though

Clueless White Kid Studios It's part of the glitch. In the glitch, every character of the player's name become a Z except the ones whose spots are the multiples of 3 eg. 3,6,9,12,etc.
