Can we take a moment to appreciate just how much of an utter champ Electrode was in both his Stadium 1&2 playthroughs? My favorite electric type for a reason.
Yes fastest off all and op with thunder wave and op in Gen 2 with mirror coat before gen4 split of moves mewtwo will mostly always die considering his attacks are special
@@nintenzard3192 so how does the ivs and evs work special is 1 stat but would moltres be better though I mean I played those games a lot I understand how gen 3 and up works but gen 1 and 2 252 across the board
@@MentalOutlvl6 In Gens 1 and 2, IVs range from 0 to 15 and used to be called DVs back then. EVs range from 0 to 65535 and used to be called Stat Experience. Instead of earning 1-2 EVs by defeating wild Pokémon, you would earn an amount equal to its base stats that would be added to your stat exp. Meaning that a Pidgey would give out 40/45/40/35/56 stat experience for each corresponding stat.
I remember when I was a kid, using only two rentals to defeat him: Aerodactyl and Wobbuffet. Aerodactyl wrecks Ho-oh with rock slide. Wobbuffet destroys Mewtwo with mirror coat, and then takes down Lugia with destiny bond. It did not always work though. Somebody should try this and record it.
@@shsz1984 it's a damn shame it can't learn rock slide via level up though, otherwise it would've been pretty useful. Hell, just look at Lance's illegal one that illegitimately knows it in GSC
It wasn't "fixed", there was nothing needing a fix, it was just changed, they made a complete overhaul of how stats work in gen 3 actually, but nothing was "fixed".
Rock slide is super effective I believe 4xweakness plus it was a critical hit it wasn't it would not have taken out ho ho if it was a physic pokemon ho ho would win or another fighter legendary or not maybe except from groundon is rock slide hits even harder than rhydon and golem
Not surprising at all. Ho-Oh is 4x weak to rock which means rock slide's power multiplies by 4. And since it was a Critical hit than it does 2x more so it did 8x damage. Rock Slides Power times 8 = Six Hundred Base Power And then adding up Dugtrio's attack subtracting to Ho-Oh's defense then take that number minus or add the base power which is six hundred. Ho-Oh does not have good defense so it wouldn't have been much of a difference if Ho-Oh had a better physical defense than Dugtrio's physical attack. Yes I have an A at Math
@@LatiosNYC Just saw this comment after a few years. According to Smogon's Damage Calculator, it would have been a 2HKO. However, Ho-Oh only went first due to Quick Claw. Next turn, Dugtrio would have likely gone first (due to Quick Claw only having a 23% chance to activate) and won the battle anyway.
I figured as much. considering dugtrio doesn't have the best attack stat. so the critical hit mattered in OHKOing Ho-oh because if I recall, Silver's Ho-oh in R2 has giga drain so if you didn't get the critical hit, I would imagine ho-oh would've OHKOd dugtrio with giga drain.
man. i would love to see a mod in which, after you cleared the gym leader castle and the all the cups, ho-ho would then show up in the sky while lugia would show up in the sea and the player would then be able to battle them individually with their own battle theme
@respectthekick07 Pretty much. In Gens I and II, EVs are called Stat Exp., you gain them by the 100s or something, maxing out at 65535 for EVERY stat. If you use 10 vitamins on every stat, the Pokemon can get 25600, as long as they started with 0 stat exp. And yeah, the box trick would work for Pokemon at a lower level, but it would be less noticeable compared to when they are 100. It takes a long time to fully max out several Pokemon though, so the best place is the E4 with Dodrio GB Tower.
Me gustan los videos de pokemon stadium de shadowmario porque no estan tan hackados como otros el juega con sus pokemon que el crio y estan fuertes por su entrenamiento y no por trukos o hackers.
With rentals go Wobbufett, Aerodactyl and Umbreon. Wobbufett is the overpowered gimmick Pokémon, Umbreon has good bulk against Lugia and Mewtwo and can sand attack, and Aerodactyl is the speedy heavy hitter against Ho-oh and is good against Lugia.
@ShadowMario3 Seeing your Snorlax with that much HP tells me you know how to max stats. I remember I used to max my Pokemon's stats back in the day by getting the Pokemon involved in a lot of battles, depositing them in the PC, then their stats go up for some reason. Is that how you max out your Pokemon's stats? I did all that when they were LV 100, but would that same idea work on lower level Pokemon? I'm about to get back into this game, so any ideas can help. Thank you
Back when Pokémon came out, everyone named their player character either "ASH" or their name, mainly "ASH" due to the anime coming out before the games in America. I was one of the kids who went with Ash, and I still have those save files from back then, which I am using here. People should know that the player's true name is Red because of GSC.
@nicholaschamp19 Don't see how I can teach Snorlax Curse since it's from my Yellow version. Also, why Hyper Beam? Would be better to have Body Slam (and Earthquake) as your attacking moves.
@MegaManNeo No. In Red, he's Red. He's called Blue because of the game, and in Yellow, he's Ash because that game is based on the anime. Ash is based on Red, just like how Gary is based on Blue (or Green by Japanese terms). The reason all of us calls him Ash is because we watched the anime before playing the games. In every sequel to Red, Blue and Yellow, (they are Gold, Silver, Crystal, HeartGold, and SoulSilver), he is called Red. Not Blue, and not Ash.
In this game, Ted Lewis sounds just like the Japanese announcer. I think Pokemon Stadium Gold and Silver had a different announcer in Japanese compared to the Japanese version of Pokemon Stadium called Pocket Monsters Stadium 2 in Japanese.
You can do that with a tyranitar with rock slide or a pokemon with high ass att with Rick slide probably could do it with ancient power but it's doable or wobbuffet with counter ho-oh goes down in 2 shot
I know this video is very old and you probably aren't playing this anymore but I gotta ask. Are max DVs necessary to do well in Stadium 1 and 2? I've been busting my butt trying to get good DVs but it is taking too long... also, how do you get such good DVs for starters since they start off at level 5? Thank you!
In Round 2, the Rival's Pokemon has max DVs + max stat experience. Fight fire with fire. Or, just train a Snorlax with Belly Drum, Rest, Sleep Talk, and Body Slam. It should be able to sweep.
Blissy wobbuffet and snorlax could tank these guys just watch out with lugia using blissey as it has weak Def and lugias aeroblast will probably kill blissey in 2 shots other than it can take hooh and mewtwo as long as blissey has softboil to recover in between turns to tank the 2 legendaries
Wow similar formula like round 1... Thunderbolt and explosion... Only this time you didn't start with thunderwave thus you used fire blast and flamethrower with some rockslide
in this battle, the rival's pokemons have different and more powerful moves (example: mewtwo have hidden power fighting in R1 and in R2 i has sumission)
I don't get it, I even used my fully trained Lugia and Ho-Oh and still he was stronger, not only that, all of his attack were either critical hits AND landed added effect. It was so unfair. I'm surprised I completed it...after 18 years! Well that time I didn't know how to train my Pokemon well
@@Acanofalconpunch Oh, most certainly, the game cheats like a raw bastard in ways that a player could never hope to reach naturally. An AI with a Nidoking or Rhydon is deadly because Horn Drill will land. Every. Single. Time.
@@TheNadroj10 my guess is lots of patience and grinding at Mt. Silver. I'm doing this for my crystal team. Only half my team is level 70 and it is taking forever!
Dugtrio has decent attack, and Rock Slide is 4x super effective against Ho-oh, and since it was a critical hit it essentially did 8x the damage. No way Ho-oh would have survived even if it wasnt a critical hit
I liked and hated the game. The only way that I managed to beat the stupid round 2 little cup was taking advantage of the "free continuation" suspend glitch.
Let me be clear. This exact battle with this exact amount of Pokémon would take twice as long with 3 times less animations, worse cinematography and infinite time less excitement
