This is what I feel like for Pokémon heights: ones that stand on two legs are either measured at their shoulder or knee, and the ones that stand on four legs are measured at their shoulder, because that’s how animals are measured in real life. Other than that, Pokémon sizes and weights make no sense
Pokemon heights are not measured like real life animals. All Pokemon are measured from the bottom of their feet to the highest part of their head. The only exceptions are fish and serpents. And serpents include those with a serpentine body, but also legs, such as Thundurus Therian and Servine. As recently as ORAS, there has been a height comparison feature in the Pokedex itself for us to see that this is the case, and even without that, the default sizes of the models ripped from the game files are actually all accurate to Pokedex values, so we don’t actually have to guess at all how they’re measured.
wait... if generation 2 to 7 started shrinking, then when generation 9 introduced gigantamax and dynamax forms then... DID GENERATION 9 START GROWING AGAIN?????
Something about this doesn’t seem right...like how small all the Gen 8 starters are...Not sure where their height begins and ends...I feel they didn’t count Sobbles Fin when they were referring to height
Tom Salazar well, I usually take the heights wit a grain of salt anyways...as real animals, I imagine not all Pokémon are the same exact size, some slightly bigger and some slightly smaller. It’s a hard call tho with some mons being bigger and some being smaller depending how you think GF scales things and what they do or don’t count. Only comparisons to make are to how people judge height with an animal that’s similar maybe...? Idk lol...
The Galar grass starter grookey was the smallest at first and when it evolved to rillaboom its the tallest The size diff of thwakey to rillaboom is a lot lol
I mean based on its theme it makes sense. The Galar starters are meant to signify entertainment in England, rillaboom is music. It starts out as this small musician into a big star. He may be my least favorite but I still like him for that reason
Shinies: Grass Starters: Snivy, Chespin Fire Starters: Tepig, Fennekin, Litten Water Starters: Oshawott, Froakie, Popplio I think this is all the shiny starters!
First scene and I'm already mindblown 1)The Kanto starter took me off guard but I guess they make sense 2)The Johto starter are that big?! What?! 3)The Hoenn starters compared to the others surprise me but they make sense 4) There's no way Turtwig is that small 5)What the hell Snivy and Oshawott?! 0_0 6)For now they make sense the most 7)Yeah still make sense 8) So you're telling me Scorbunny is THAT small?! (Same goes for Grookey) I find myself a bit shocked by the Johto and Unova starters
Did it bother anyone else that he used shinies HOLY COW 120 LIKES AND 11 REPLIES OMG THANK YOU ALL SOOOO MUCH I’m almost crying right now because of you all! Thank you all sooo very much!!!!!
Still can’t believe torterra isn’t the biggest starter, considering he’s known to have Pokemon live on him. Always wanted him to be at least 3 metres tall! He’s best continent boy
This is just a guess but it seems like they’re starting to make the starters smaller that way it’s easier for pikachu to look and talk directly at them in the anime not to mention it’s easier to make posters of the starters and Pikachu together because they’re around the same size back in gen one the starters made pikachu look like a pichu
Me: Aww so even though they start out so different, in the end they’re all about the same siz- *smol Infernape & Cindrance show up* Me: Okay, except for those two- *massive Feraligator appears* Me: AND YOU TOO! BOI, WHAT ARE THEY FEEDING YOU?!
Here's something I noticed. Each time the starter evolves, it basically doubles in height (Or nearly) with about 0.1-0.3 difference. This is more noticeable in the transition from second to fully evolved. Then we got outliers like Serperior (which is justifiable as it grows longer, not taller) and ESPECIALLY Rillaboom which is triple the height of it's previous form. Torracat is also like this, but it is on four legs so it's fine. Brionne is also like this, with the same justification as Serperior. Drizzile is this to a degree, being 4 sobbles shorter. Basically, it feels like the gen 8 final stages were made differently than usual, excluding Cinderace who DOES fit in this way.
@@Lightdragon773 but seriously Bulbasaur three times bigger then rowlet we saw in the Anime compared to ash Bulbasaur and Rowlet looked about the same size
@@trent800 Pokemon sizes in the anime were nothing new. Take Ash's Charizard for example, compared to the other Charizard in the Charizific Valley, Ash's zard is a runt in comparison. And Drew's Roselia in Advanced was inconsistent at times as well
The Galar starters are smaller than I expected, same with the Hoenn base form and middle stage starters. The more you know I guess! (also the Infernape line us teeny weeny! Did not expect that.)
Moral of the story -the one who succeeds to be the the champion is the biggest as Inteleon became the Pokemon having highest height in his group since at his first stage she was the smallest.👏👏👏 Like 👍if this is the moral.
You measure height from the top of the head, not the very highest part of the body. If your six feet tall, then gel up your hair five inches up you don’t suddenly become 6’5”
