Can't cover Gladion's Theme without the slap bass, now, can we? I seriously almost wrote this arrangement without including slap bass in it at some part, and then I realized that slap bass is one of the biggest features of Gladion's Theme. I had to put it in somewhere. So, I called up my friend Justin, and he laid down some SICK slap bass tracks on this remix. Sounds amazing. Gladion is in my top 5 favorite characters from Pokémon Sun & Moon, right up there with Lillie and Nanu. His backstory throughout the game is awesome, his overall demeanor is pretty hilarious, and his battle theme is so good! I'm very happy to present my cover of Gladion's Battle Theme to you guys :)

I don't know if I'm the first to make this connection, but listen to Gladion's Battle theme and then listen to the "Run Away/Fugitives" theme from Pokemon Red and Blue rescue team! It works even better considering Gladion is a Fugitive and a Run Away! That is so cool.

I guess it's a present for you! :p And yeah, this song would not have been the same without slap bass. In fact, I split the bass track into 2, and worked on the high end separately to bring out the slap bass!

You know what? Real talk for a second, you always pull this shit off flawlessly. Themes that have little to no connection to this genre, and you make it sound ear-moisteningly good. So I'm going to put out this idea. You know how the other big genre for these kinds of covers is metal? (See: FamilyJules, 331Erock, Richaad, etc...) I want the stark opposite of that; I want to see metal songs jazzified. Yeah, you could do some low-hanging fruit like practically any Sonic boss between 1999 and 2008 (but that's more butt-rock), or maybe Metal Gear Rising, but no... You need a challenge. DOOM's OST. I'll make the deal sweeter and point out the juicy bits. "Rip and Tear" and "BFG Division" are the pieces that stand out the most. What do you say?

Gladion's battle theme (at least, the part around 0:18) kinda sounds like "Run Away" from the PMD Rescue Team games... It's fitting, considering how Gladion ran away from Aether, but I doubt it's intentional.

In this game there were so many Pokemon Mystery Dungeon refrences. Team Skull was a reference to Team Skull, Gladion's theme and battle theme was a reference to Run Away/Fugitives music and his backstory was a reference to the time you had to run away from the other Pokemon in the Rescue Team games.

The first part of Gladion's theme sounds very similar to A Link to the Past's Dark World theme, IMO. Maybe that's what you hear?

First I was into trending pop songs. Moving on, thanks to Guitar Hero 3 I managed to get into some casual rock songs. Then my one friend managed to pull me into Dubstep. Later on I discovered that I also have a thing going on for Metal and even som Hard Rock. And now while looking for a metal version of Gladion Battle Theme you just pulled me into the world of Jazz. I actually did a cool mixing technique on this - I split the bass in two, and mixed the high end (basically 2k and up) separately from everything below. Really made the slaps come out.

This cover is soooooo good! Everything I would've wanted was in there. You even included the slap bass! Fantastic cover for my current favorite track from Sun/Moon! Oh, and I can't just ignore those lovely Null puns in the description. Wouldn't be the same without them.
