I Remember how I didn't watch the Kalos anime at some point because I was afraid it would have been like the Black and White one Damn I wish I knew how really good Kalos was
You know what would have been a great battle, Ash battling Virgil, Pikachu VS Eevee, and when it seems Ash is winning, Eevee would have evolved into Sylveon, hinting at the Kalos region.
I know right, first half of the league was kinda meh while part 2 didn’t fair much better, honestly you guys, my biggest gripe with the league and the bw anime was Cameron !!! 4/10
It would have been still rather infuriating to see him lose because of a sudden evolution, but compared to what ended up happening... yeah, it would have been better that way.
Pellet #1 Yh basically apart from the fact he’s a dark ground type he’s an alligator he’s maroon coloured he also we’re sunglasses and is from a completely different region (jk Yh ik what u mean 😂)
@@originated712 any of ash's old rivals would end trip. Gary, easily smarter. Paul, smarter and has a pretty big catalog of pokemon that he did switch around. Sawyer, stronger and smarter. Alain, charizard alone would end him
@@blitz4779 You forgot Gladion. Hau too, But he got 1 episode outside the league in the ENTIRE anime so he really isnt a rival. But they would still destroy him
@@wook5676 My boy Stephan wants to desagree. Not gonna lie the anime in general was TERRIBLE but characters like Virgil or Stephan, and Ash's Krokodile made their way in the good side of the fans.
For the most part, you are correct but I still love him though and normal is my second favorite type, can’t say the same for Virgil, Cameron or Trip because I honestly don’t care if there are people who enjoyed which is fine I guess but I am not a fan of the unova league and that filler was a complete waste of my time and I seriously want to know who is responsible for that dumb filler and I guess if anyone enjoyed that, then good for you but otherwise, it was a trash idea.
I really hated him. Just the way he talked and acted felt incredibly arrogant and like the kind of person I want to punch in the face. I actually quite like the majority of Best Wishes. The Pokémon are great, a lot of the battles are fantastic, a lot of the mini-arcs are really good and Iris is one of my favorite girls. But even I can't defend this league and it's easily one of the worst. My favorite episode is actually the filler one where Axew get's lost because it breaks up the drawn out battles and weak rivalries and focuses on what I love Best Wishes for. The one against Trip has to be the worst though as it's just a 1v1 which is really disappointing. Ash never really had a big 6v6 against Trip. The one battle that was there was already really disappointing as it mostly just consisted of Pikachu being choked which was both painful to watch and also not exciting. The best battle by far was Ash vs Stephan which was quite fun. The Indigo league though had a lot more bullshit as several times they consider Pokémon knocked out when it's very clear they aren't and Ash loses because of a completely unfair call. You may complain about Tobias but he beat Ash fair and square and Ash went out with a bang. Though the way Ash went out is so pathetic that it is really powerful and very unexpected.
@@blitz4779 I would rather have Palpitode than Oshawatt .Poor Palpitode , I really enjoyed the episode it was introduced in because it seemed so malicious and cunning but after ash captured it , it completely lost it's personality. Wasted Potential
The one thing I liked about the unova anime is that the move iron tail literally turned the Pokémon’s tail into steel. It was way better than just making the tail glow
*Hydreigon beats Boldore and Oshawott* Nice, driving Ash into a corner right away. It'll be interesting to see what he'll do next. *Pignite beats Hydreigon* Good, good, Ash is making a comeback. *Pignite beats Ferrothorn* YOU IDIOT YOU'RE USING A GRASS/STEEL TYPE AGAINST A FIRE/FIGHTING TYPE WHAT DID YOU THINK WAS GONNA HAPPEN?! *Samurott beats Pignite* Okay, okay, calm down, let's get back into the match. *Pikachu beats Samurott* Okay, this is looking good again. I'm willing to forgive- *Pikachu beats Swanna* NOW A WATER-FLYING TYPE AGAINST AN ELECTRIC TYPE WHAT IS THIS GUY THINKING?! *Cameron reveals Riolu is his fifth and final Pokemon* DOES THIS GUY HAVE ANY BRAINS AT ALL? God...it's over for him, Ash is gonna destroy him. *Riolu beats Unfezant* Unbelievable, they're still trying to make us believe Ash can actually lose here. For real, just- *Riolu evolves into Lucario* Wait...no, don't you dare do that. DON'T YOU DARE PULL ANOTHER- *Lucario beats Snivy and Pikachu* ...(By this time my organs have exploded out of pure rage)
Alpha-sama the most idiotic part of this battle is that ash didn’t bring krookodile ik it just fought and won but he had time to heal him this battle was bs
@@crqmsonplayzgamez3759 honestly. If ash brought palpitoad krookodile and leavanny he most likely would have won honestly.... and to put more salt on the wound if ash had subbed pignite and put against samurott he most likely would have won too.
Riolu was literally flying all over the place in Snivey. It was ridiculous 😡. I hated watching him Dodge backwards, and then somehow fly forward to land a midair forcepalm. HOW??????
The loss against Cameron was total bs. He’s an even bigger idiot than Ash has ever been (even in Unova) and yet he somehow wins. Anyways I find it funny that the worst league arc is in between the two best league arc. Great review man, looking forward to Kalos.
Yea in xy when pikachu beat mega lucario I was like wait a minute if you can beat mega lucario then how come you couldn't beat Cameron's lucario smh🤦♂️
What's even more insulting is that he didn't have a full team of six, Ash did. There should've been no reason at all why Ash lost. Would it have really changed anything if he made it to the semifinals and then lost? At least then it would've been against a competent trainer.
JCBro2014 Which is why i said that he’s an even bigger idiot than Ash. All versions of Ash, including Kanto and Unova, are leagues (pun not intended) better than Cameron.
@@JCBro-yg8vd And it isn't just the fact that he had only five Pokemon. Sure, that puts him at a MAJOR disadvantage, but they could've played up Cameron to be a credible threat regardless, and for what it's worth, he was using a pseudo-legendary..... BUT, it only managed to take out two of Ash's Pokemon, and Ash proceeded to steamroll most of Cameron's team afterwards, until getting to that god damn Riolu. And this is where I think the battle REALLY fell apart. It wasn't just that Cameron brought 5 Pokemon, but moreso the fact that Ash still had half his team when Cameron was down to just Riolu.... and Ash STILL loses to that chump. Granted, Riolu was Cameron's main Pokemon. Could he have overcome all odds because his Riolu/Lucario is just that strong and they work together with perfect tactics? Nope. That Riolu was taking hits and abusing Detect like nobody's business. I can't count the number of times it SHOULD have fainted throughout that entire match, both before and after evolving (and Detect is NOT supposed to succeed that much). Cameron was in no way revealed to be some brilliant strategist. The only, ONLY reason he won is because the writers were too lazy to actually write a decent bout and instead felt the need to just hax the ever-loving shit out of that Riolu/Lucario, and that's it. Ash got taken out of the Unova League, not even getting the chance to fight an actually decent rival like Virgil, because Cameron was given plot armor. And just to add further insult to injury...... back down to 8th place. I am SO glad Kalos came after this abomination of a saga.
Insane Makaioshin why would you want those two back knowing that ash doesn’t have greninja and the other Pokémon he has could be tauros charizard pikachu infernape and sceptile idk about the sixth
Chalcolate Fox he could bring back his old Pokémon for the league. Image charizard vs charizard, Metagross vs Gible, Darkrai vs Sceptile again, Latios vs Krookodile, Infernape vs one of Tobias’s others
Can we take time to address that Stephan's Zebstrika knew 4 normal type moves? Double-Edge, Stomp, Facade, and Giga Impact. Cilan even notes that it "Must know a VARIETY OF MOVES to be able to take Ash's Palpitoad"
@@TSLstudio2010 Unova is beloved in the games but disliked in the anime, while Kalos is disliked in the games, but beloved in the anime. Ironic, innit?
1. How come Ash NEVER told Snivy to try Attract on Lucario? I don't know if they ever revealed Lucario's gender, but EVERY BATTLE Snivy was in during the BW series had it using Attract! 2. Ash vs Stephan was EASILY to best episode of this league! 3. Why the hell didn't Ash tell Pikachu to use Thunderbolt more than ONCE against Lucario? Spamming Quick Attack was dumb (ok it looked AWESOME and did wear Lucario down, but still...) and so what if Lucario can use Copycat if electric moves aren't that effective on Pikachu. 4. Bro, don't forget that Cameron FORGOT to register for the league in time, Ash BEGGED Nurse Joy to bend the rules for him to be able to compete so basically Ash setup his own loss...
Josh J-B especially that pointless axew filler! And like Zac said, who the heck in their right mind in the writing staff thought this was a good idea?!
It was a cup of good intentions A table spoon of one big mess A dash of overreaction I assume you know the rest (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-baHDMMrqP8c.html) XD
There are people who like this league and I am going to disrespect, but I am going to agree with Zac on this one, didn’t like this league at all and that Axew filler was nothing but hot trash and a major waste of my time.
@@JC-lb3df what the alola League is really good have you even seen the first episode of alola League that episode is better than all the unova and indigo League together
Maybe the unova league wasn’t about the destination, but was about the undeveloped and wasted bonds that we make on the journey and remember them for how disappointed they ended up being? ... who am i kidding? This league is trash and i don’t have any desires to remember it. Welp time to erase this bad memory. Mewtwo, use amnesia on me!.... Good, i forgot whatever it was bothering me.
Maybe but that alone isn't gonna save it for me. Ash clearly was a better trainer than that idiot Cameron. He knew about a full team, that u needed to register to compete, and that u need eight badges to enter the competition. If ash was gonna lose the league he could have lost to Virgil in the semis instead of this idiot. Unova league was a disgrace. Worst ever league behind the first one
El Jordinio At least Alain and Tobias were good trainers. But I will be forever salty about ash losing the Sinnoh and Kalos leagues. This is because in Sinnoh, all the stars have finally aligned after all those years for Ash to finally win the Pokemon league he finally beat Paul and he even brought back many of his old Pokemon to win, with it looking like he is actually going to win the league and the show writers know that they can’t stop Ash from winning by normal means. So, the show writers pull some complete bullshit so that they can stop him from winning by dropping not just one but two legendaries out of thin air on him to make him lose in the form of Tobias with his Darkrai and Latios. Once we saw the Darkrai we knew it was all over for Ash where the question that we viewers are asking changed from “Will Ash win the league?” to “How many of Tobias’ Pokemon can Ash beat before he loses?” and the surprise Latios that was there just to make sure that Ash would lose was just pouring salt on the wound and adding insult to injury because there was even a tweet that Tobias’ whole team was nothing but just Legendary Pokemon, but at least we could settle for the consolation prize that at least Ash beat Tobias’ unbeatable Darkrai and even his surprise Latios making the answer to our question of “How many of Tobias’ Pokemon can Ash beat before he loses?” two. #Ashshouldhavewonthesinnohleague This is because in Kalos, all the stars have finally aligned after twenty years for Ash to finally win the Pokemon league he clapped Astrid to try and prove that not even the bullshit that stopped him from winning back in sinnoh will stop him this time and once again the show writers know that they can’t stop Ash from winning by normal means. I even bought into the hype. But it was too good to be true as after all of that teasing they did about ash winning the league for once all amounts to nothing and the same bullshit with a new coat of paint that stopped him in sinnoh stopped him again in kalos as Alain aka Tobias V2.0 cleaned his clock. At least with Tobias, once we saw the Darkrai we knew it was all over for Ash where the question that we viewers are asking changed from “Will Ash win the league?” to “How many of Tobias’ Pokemon can Ash beat before he loses?”, while with Alain they gave us a Hope Spot by having it go down to the wire. At least with Tobias, we could settle for the consolation prize that at least Ash beat Tobias’ unbeatable Darkrai and even his Latios making the answer to our question two, while with Alain, Ash never beat his charizard. Before all you Alain fans get on my case, my issue is with the writers, not Alain. #Ashshouldhavewonthekalosleague Ash was already keyword champion when he battled kukui. There were no 6 on 6 battles in the alola league. If he had to battle kukui to become champion 1000% none would be complaining about the alola league. Or at least I wouldn’t be complaining about the league.
@@Pikachufan-hz4xb Alain, yeah he was a good trainer and at least he and ash were sort of equal with a transforming ace, but overall it came down to experience. Tobias tho, he was just a cheap, sick way to stop ash from winning. He could have had a whole team of freaking legendaries on his side for all we know. That's just insanely broken as heck! Like dude nobody could stop a guy with legendaries on his side. Ash has beaten legendaries before but that's usually just one legendary per opponent. Not two or even six
It was some serious bs for him to have one, considering he thought: 1. You needed 7 badges to enter the league. 2. A full team had five Pokemon. (this is the biggest one of all) 3. The Unova league was being held in Ecruteak City of Johto.
The only thing that makes this league watchable is Bianca. She’s just great and always fun to watch. Meanwhile Cameron here is just “Duh, what is good to fight a Fire-type. My two Water-types? Nah, Grass/Steel. And then I use Water vs Electric. I’m good trainer.”
Ash vs Bianca would’ve been cool, Bianca was a pretty strong trainer and her beating ash would make more sense, I know she only had Emboar,Eskavalier and Minchino, but we have a ton of rivals revealing Pokémon in their battle with ash.
You know what makes the axew filler worse. The fact that the whole "axew gets lost" isn't something new in the best wishes anime. The episode right after the elesa fight had basically the same plot(same mon different trainer) , with a few plot changes.
@@jaydix125 I agree Swellow is definitely the second best advanced gen mon and prolly ash's best flying type.I just feel it's overshadowed by Shiny Noctowl and Staraptor even though it's better than them all
What's even worse is that they skipped a whole round! Ash vs trip was the first round with 128 trainers. Ash vs Stephan was the 4th round with the top 16. The battle his scraggy won was either the 2nd or 3rd round. We should have gotten that instead of that filler episode. What a joke!😑
James Trammell couldn’t agree more. I honestly wouldn’t mind that kind of episode if it didn’t take place in the league, but NO! It just has to be in the league! Who thought that was a good idea?! I did some research and this is how many trainers participated in Ash's Pokémon leagues KANTO - 256 Trainers JOHTO - 192 Trainers HOENN - 512 Trainers SINNOH - 256 Trainers UNOVA - 128 Trainers KALOS - 64 Trainers ALOLA - 151 Trainers
The Cynthia and Paul battle kinda confused me as a kid. What was the point of having a full battle of Paul decided he was done after losing 4. I know Cynthia’s the best champion but still
I think Brandon is the one who completely destroy paul and his attitude, paul seems liks he already know he will going to lose against Cynthia as he was calm after the lost maybe he was just testing himself but against brandon he seems totally shocked and lose his cool

@Joe that bird can't even win a match without type advantage he was only good in game in anime swellow and Talonflame is much much better as they never lose a match without beating at least 1 pokemon
Are we gonna ignore how good Cameran’s team is? He has a Samurott, Hydreigon, Lucario, Swanna, Ferrothorn, and a Watchog apparently. 4 of those Pokémon are competent Pokémon for a League type scenario and Swanna is a so-so Pokémon and a Watchog that doesn’t need to exist
There definitely will. Just give a month or so for it to be completed first. I'm sure making the Kalos League review will keep Zac occupied until it's over and ready to be reviewed.
I like that they brought the same writer, Shinjo Fujita, who did this league to write the Ash vs Alain fight in the Kalos league. That was definitely one of the best decisions OLM has ever made.
In my opinion, Cameron and Riolu/Lucario Where the problem of the league. The Unova league could have been a average at best if Cameron was't in the league. Great review and thanks for also mention the positive parts.
Agreed plus what I wondered is HOW THE HELL did Riolu evolve into Lucario Riolu needs high happiness to evolve that wasn't the case for Cameron's what does he enjoy getting his ass kicked or something
This was really good and I agree... the Unova League sucked overall but did have some amazing moments like Lucario Vs Pikachu! And oh my God... that damn Axew episode is by one of the worst episodes in pkmn anime history. How did that episode even get fricking approved??!! I always thought the Iron Tail/Electro Ball combo was pretty cool actually. But Trip is a crappy rival for just saying “I’ll beat you next time.” That shows no growth or closure whatsoever. Cameron always annoyed me, especially with “bringing only 5 Pokémon” bulls**t, and Virgil was highly unnecessary. And I agree that the last episode is insulting especially with the copy of the indigo league moment for ash and then having that dumb recap of the series. This league is probably one of the reasons people don’t like BW. Overall the series at that point is just so bad. And then they do The Decalor Island Adventrue which is a copy and paste of the Orange Islands arc of the anime which means a whole season of filler. I remember only enjoying a few episodes from that season. Although it did get really good towards when they introduced Alexa from Kalos.
I try to defend this season bc it isn’t as awful as some say but damn they messed up w this and honestly deserves that below average rating. I actually liked axew but that episode pissed me off so much
Don’t defend this league... this league was like taking two toothpicks, putting them under your toenails, and slamming your foot against a wall as hard as you can. This was painful to watch. The games were amazing though, and I would definitely recommend
Yes it is, it is exactly as awful as people think. It’s not all bad, but the good episodes are outnumbered by the piss poor writing of the bad episodes and they are numerous. I had never once considered stopping to watch the anime until this one that is how bad it was.
@@RedfurredPikachu agreed. Ash was an idiot during this series, they made him go out in the worst possible way in the league aside from Kanto and sinnoh, iris was annoying as heck, and the decolore islands, did we really need that?
I just can't wrap my head around someone like Cameron training a Hydreigon. Ash couldn't even get a fully evolved starter to listen to him in battle for the longest time, I can't really believe someone arguably dumber than he ever was having a fully evolved psuedo legendary and it actually listening to his orders, let alone one that's basically defined by being uncontrollably violent.
My favorite part in ash vs Cameron is when Cameron sends out the swana to battle pikachu and iris is saying Cameron has the advantages because he can attack in the air 😂😂😂
Though I do love Gen 5, it’s my favorite Generation, even I can admit the anime could have been better, but it’s still better than the gen 1 anime, and if your curious, I can give you multiple reasons as to why it’s better, the first two seasons of the anime which is kanto are trash, the gen 2 anime which is the next 3 seasons are wayyyyy better, and yes gen 6 is the best anime easily.
AdzzXYZ just think of how different or better it would be if it wasn’t rewritten, hey I have my own idea of how I would rewrite the anime, do you want to hear my idea?
@AdzzXYZ It was Due by the 2011 earthquake in Japan is one reason of the rewrite of the BW series and BW2 was in development during that time that cause it as well for rewrite.
Keeten Dailey Sorry I disagree with the next 3 seasons of the original series being better. Jhoto was freakin trash. What a garbage filler heavy arc that was. Personally for me, the only good season in the entire original series is the first season, even though the Kanto League was kind of mediocre.
The Giant Bacon Bird of Death you have got to be fucking kidding me, the johto series has better gym battles, better episodes that are relevant. Ash actually battles Gary, in johto, I hate the original first two seasons, season 1 has its moments, but overall it’s trash, and I can explain why if you want to know why I feel this way, but it doesn’t matter, The Gen 4 anime and The Gen 6 anime are the best two series
stampoulis rafail So what? The Unova League skipped over some things too. But that doesn’t really matter. I let it slide with the Kalos League too because I just wanted to enjoy the battles, and the animations, rushed or not.
The Unova games are awesome and widely beloved, while the Unova anime wasted a lot of potential and is widely hated. The Kalos games are widely considered, well, not the best Pokémon games out there, while the Kalos anime is widely considered as one of the best, if not *the* best series of the Pokémon anime. Ironic, isn't it?
wikiuser92 , fair enough , I mean maybe it because I have been playing since gen 1 , just felt it was too easy and compared to the gen 6 anime team flare was disappointing
What makes Cameron's win over Ash even worse is that he intentionally sent out Pokemon weak to Ash's team. After Hydreigon went down, instead of sending in Swannah or Samurott to take out Pignite, he sends in Ferrothorn. Then after Pikachu takes out Samurott, it's Swannah time... ugh. We knew Ash was going to lose, but did they have to make Cameron such an idiot?
Ferrothorn has high defenses. His intention was to make Pignite tired before his Samurott comes. Swanna is fast. Cameron tried for the same strategy, also a reference to Skyla's Swanna who easily overpowered Pikachu with high speed and Aqua ring strategy. Both of them were actually great things. Pignite wasn't that tired, but got a false sense of security. Pikachu was straight tired.
@Kim Boom Joong I know all those match-ups friend. But we are kind of forgetting the statistics too and ability too. Like, though Ferrothorn had quad weaknesses, you can't forget how big of a tank it is how it harms at contact. Same with Swanna. We have even seen a Swanna to defeat a Pikachu in this same series.
@Kim Boom Joong It's not like that. Anime never removes abilities. You are saying this because you are also the part of group who thinks that someone who doesn't have much strong memory power and is weak with numbers is ultimately weak. Be in your dreams.
One thing I find funny is the fact that The PWT Junior Cup had not one but TWO Champions overseeing things as well as an Elite Four member being there, meanwhile Alder was nowhere to be found during the actual Unova League.
The Black and White anime's main problem was that it tried to replicate the Indigo League series too much. Even the bad parts. When you remove nostalgia you see how a lot of things done in the Kanto saga of the anime were improved upon in later, less nostalgic series. But Unova tried to replicate it and came off as a poor man's version of an already outdated design. It's a damn shame too after all of the progress the Diamond and Pearl series made. Their "back to basics" approach made for more boring, forgettable filler episodes and less things of consequence happening overall throughout the Best Wishes series. Ash caught more Pokemon in gen 5 but his team feels like it would get curb-stomped by his Hoenn and Sinnoh teams. Thry tried to replicate Ash getting Pokemon with minimal development in Kanto such as Kingler, Muk, and Tauros with Palpitoad, Leavanny, and Boldore but they don't have the benefit of nostalgia and are therefore forgettable. The Kalos saga feels like the proper successor to Diamond and Pearl.
4:00 I wasn't all that invested in the league so I actually didn't mind. I think it was a fun one shot episode. The best thing about the BW anime easily were the Pokémon. I still think BW had one of the best Pokémon ever. Snivy, Emolga, Oshowatt and Tepig are some of the most developed Pokémon the group has ever had.
I kinda wish I could recreate the unova league. I’m so mad at the creators for making ash get eliminated in the last 8 after he got to the last 4 in the Sinnoh league
When I saw this video it was the first time since the episodes has been released that I saw footage of the unova league! :O Most league battles I have watched multiple times! but this.... I just only wanted to forget!
Thing about Ash's "second round battle", it was actually the third round. There were 128 contests in the first episode and 16 in Lost at the League, meaning they skipped TWO of Ash's league battle. Seriously bro, I'm shocked you didn't give that episode a zero.
Zizzy The Fencing Coach I know Kalos is the bestest of the best, finally the protagonist won a league . And the mega evolutions along with Greninja’s unique form were very cool and new also the Pokémon showcases were beautiful and satisfying to watch
This was absolutely Ash's worse league loss. Worse than Tobias, worse than Ritchie, worse than Alain because of one reason: Cameron is just too stupid to win. Thought you only needed 7 badges to enter, thought the league would be in an entirely different region, thought a full battle was 5 on 5, like come on people! I didn't even think it was possible to make a character dumber than Unova Ash, and yet they did.
I try not to be too hard on this league because of how bad the 2011 Earthquake was. Still disappointed though. Also, CAMERON CAN JUMP IN LAKE WITH CEMENT BOOTS. he should have been disqualified for having only 5 pokemon instead of the required 6 v 6.
Ok this is what I have to say about Unova. It could’ve been good. The number one issue is that Ash had too many Unova Pokémon on his team. By doing this, it kind of forced the writers to not let Ash ask Professor Oak for any Pokémon. If Ash’s Unova team was like his Sinnoh team were he had a total of 7 Pokémon, this would’ve been better. I’d personally drop Palpitoad and Bolder maybe even Unfezant to be honest. Those 3 only won in their first couple of battles but really didn’t impress me too much in the long run. Now about the loss to Cameron. Absolute waste. The writers tried to make it seem that Ash couldn’t use his ace in Krookodile against Cameron since it had carried against Stephan. In my opinion, Ash should’ve brought back one of his birds from a previous region or some Pokémon which never let him down against Stephan instead of using Krookodile in that battle. Then in the 6v6, he has Pikachu, Pignite AND Krookodile. Pickachu took out Swanna and Samurott. Pignite took out Hydreigon and Ferrothorn, only leaving Lucario. Instead of Unfezant being the 5th Pokémon, it’s Snivy who faces Riolu first since Pikachu is resting. Then, Snivy faints. Ash puts Pikachu back in and that’s when Riolu evolves into Lucario, Lucario beats Pikachu by a hair. Ash saves Krookodile for last like he does Greninja in Kalos, and he beats Lucario. As you can see, the writers simply snubbed Ash so many different times over in Unova. Ash could’ve legit beaten Cameron and held his own against Virgil. Krookodile was a good ace but he wasn’t used to his full potential like Greninja or Infernape so it annoyed me. Krookodile legit had beast power and didn’t even need anything like the rage mode Lycanroc and Infernape had or the bond phenomenon Greninja had. Krookodile was just straight up a powerhouse that never lost after it evolved. Ash should’ve beaten Cameron. The writers really screwed him over.
Zach The Pokémaster Yeah, I was just playing! I mean, remember how Ash and Virgil had that epic 3-episode long battle right before the league? They took that out of the DVD releases. What a shame
Problem is, Unova League was started too early and Ash didn't had time to train their Pokemon. Remember, Ash's other region Pokemon were strong because Team Rocket always showed up alot in other regions and Ash battled them most of the time so that's why those Pokemon became strong but, in Unova Team Rocket didn't show up alot before the League and didn't Ash so that's why Ash's Unova Pokemon weren't strong enough + the League was started to early so we never saw Ash getting more time to train other Pokemon. Other region league were started later while Ash Speedran in Unova getting all starter Pokemon by 7th episode, catched alot Pokemon, collected all badges fastly and participate in Unova too early. If Ash already knew about Unova region he could've leave early then he could've more time
I think having a trainer with a full eeveelution team win the league was to bring the eeveelutions back into the spotlight so they could prepare us for Slyveon which was the face of the new Fairy type with the following generation.
Saiyagurl Ash vs a full Eeveelution team would have been nice though. At least it would have been a more satisfying loss instead of losing to a kid who got lucky with 5 pokemon.
1:08 reminded that Kalos dropped all the preliminary battles and alola brought them back BUT the alola league has a massive case of many "small fishes in a big pond"
To be fair in my humble opinion, I honestly glad that Cameron lost to Virgil due to the fact that I seriously dislike Cameron in comparison to Virgil and although I really like Virgil, the overall execution of this episode and this arc was extremely disappointing which is sad because it had a ton of potential if was done right in which it wasn’t at all and technically, the only battles I enjoyed were Ash vs Stephan and Cameron vs Virgil (unpopular opinion even though if it was short), not to mention that I find it awfully funny in a way that he gets decimated by a flareon with fire blast but otherwise, the unova league was honestly really bad.
If I had right to rate it, it would be 7. Journeys (There should be a boutique where ash could change that outfit) 6. Alola (It suits the region but, it didn't suits ash) 5. Unova (They ruined Hilbert) 4. Hoenn (Decent) 3. Kanto-Johto (Original rocks!) 2. Kalos (Good replica of Calem and even suits the transformations) 1. Sinnoh (It looks badass and suits every season)
This league was so bad, yet kind of enjoyable at some points with the battles...although it didn't really have a lot. I wish that they at least gave Trip a full 6V6 instead of him being fodder in the preliminaries where they got Serperior suddenly sacked really quickly. Serperior's not that weak defensively. Thank Arceus that Kalos delivered on it's League despite coming off to a rocky start.
ash vs stephan is the only reason I watch any of the unova league, anytime sawk comes out in the anime, It's always great. Something about the way they animate sawk is perfect and the rest of the battle is fun too :)
to be fair, the whole gen 5 anime sucks, you have to many bad rivals, two awful companions, pikachu losing to a lvl 5 snivy team rocket sucks even harder then before
Exactly, complete waste of time ; Some will say it might the best , but it's definitely the worst Pokemon league ever , I'm sorry , but facts are facts !!! 😡🔥
Das Istegal well the beginning of b&w saga, team rocket stood their grounds and look like elite rockets. But I couldn’t agree more that Unova best wishes is complete crap.
...My thoughts exactly...Despite awesome battle with Stephan...look...we all forgave what happened in Indigo as long as they won’t do something as cruddy as that ever again and yet...listen... I can accept Ash losing to a guy who showed us how Blazikens are badass... I can accept at least a guy who’s pretty cool with a Sceptile and a Puss in Boots Meowth I can accept Ash giving his all by taking down TWO LEGENDARIES(/MYTHICALS) before going down... I can accept Ash giving his all with Bond Phenomenon Greninja before going down against a pretty awesome Mega Charizard X trainer ...but...BUT...We all know Ash can be an idiot...BUT THE FACT THEY DECIDED TO MAKE HIM LOSE TO A BIGGER IDIOT THAN HIM?!...UNACCEPTABLE!!!👿👿👿👿👿 ...Also I wanted some Team Plasma & N stuff but we got this instead...well can’t wait for Kalos and finally Alola once it’s over😊
At that time there was a rumor saying they rushed the league for starting the N arc as soon as possible. Well I could agree with that if the N arc finished the entire season, but nope. This league has only 6 episodes, that's so stupid.
