Hi I hope you apreciate that one! Since this is Pokémon XY anniversary yesterday, I've decided to work on that video. Another one might come much later! For the moment enjoy that one! List of all Gym Trainer : 00:00 : Gym Leader Viola 02:55 : Gym Leader Grant 05:55 : Gym Leader Korrina 11:48 : Gym Leader Ramos 16:25 : Gym Leader Clemont 21:40 : Gym Leader Valerie 27:12 : Gym Leader Olympia 31:25 : Gym Leader Wulfric
Generally the gym leaders and the elite four were weak af,the first time trying to beat the elite 4 was fun but then it got easier with the more rematches
As much as I loved these games, after Korrina gave you the Mega Ring, every Gym Leader from then on should've had a Mega to level the playing field. Ramos: Mega Venusaur Clemont: Mega Ampharos/Manectric Valerie: Mega Mawile Olympia: Mega Alakazam Wulfric: Mega Abomasnow And then in rematches, they could've added Mega Pinsir/Scizor to Viola and Mega Tyranitar to Grant.
@PC the Internet Useri think it fits well, I mean it's not like you are the only starting trainer, giving gym leaders starter Pokemon is actually something I like to see and wish it was done more often
@PC the Internet User There have been plenty of in-game trainers who have starters before, like the Torterra trainer in Sinnoh’s victory road, the bulbasaur line had many in Kanto, etc.
People rag on the Kalos Gym Leaders, but they have their charms. You have a passionate photographer, an adventurous rock climber, a fun-loving roller skater who likes to joke around while still encouraging her Pokemon to be the strongest fighters they can be, an elderly gentlemen who appreciates how small things can still be strong, a science guy who's living his life the way he wants, a flaky and beautiful lady who likes to play dress up, a space-loving psychic who gives you encouragement and doesn't charge you four dollars a minute just to talk with her, and a potbellied guy who cares about Pokemon and waxes philosophical. I think the photographer, the roller skater, and the guy showing off both his coat and his muscle shirt are my favorites.
Carl Bloke the future is now thanks to science! Oh yeah, with the sister who thinks she knows a cute girl when she see one. Is she in desperate want of a mom?
My opinion on every gym leader from This gen: Viola: If you pick Chikorita or Snivy, Bugsy and Burgh can be a pain, not the same thing whit viola and chespin... Grant: Brock is a pain if you chose charmander, but fighting type makes Roxanne and the Sinnoh gym leader i forgot the name a joke. Grant make 3 starter(Froakie Fennekin and Chespin)be a pain. Korinna: Techically a Maylene 2.0,dont much thing to say... The 4 gym leader: I have a really bad time whit Gardenia and totem lurantis, but This is a joke k Clemmont: Emolga volt swicth and a magneton, a try to fuse Watson and Elesa, cool but not much tough than he's. Valerie: I really like, uses the New type, but need a clefable on team... 7 gym leader: Impossible to compare Sabrina in RBY and Tate and Liza in Emerald... Wulfric: Pryce,Candice and Brycen are joke, Wulfric is more.
Guido R Clemont was my personal gym leader punching bag. A Heliolisk as his ace?? Very speedy, akin to if not faster than Raichu. But like Raichu, it's a glass cannon. And it got probably the worst secondary typing (normal)...I wouldn't be surprised if someone actually beat him soundly with a fighting type like Machamp.
D/P/Platinum the worst? I don't think so. I prefer an overpowered Garchomp than Pokémon that i could defeat with one moves. Them and B/N/B2/N2 have a plot, the others? US/UM, X/y and R/G were really really bad. The first just give as the same thing as S/M, with a few of new things like Tapso or Necrozma, easy E4 and Champion. Nothing more, nothing less. X/Y boring character, boring evil team, bad soundtrack and easy, easy, easy. R/G doesn't have a plot, only a long, long, long walk trough Kanto. Sorry for my bad english.
Yeah. I agree. X & Y are not bad games by all means. But it's no Emerald, Platinum, Heartgold and Soulsilver & especially Black and White and Black and White 2. Heck, even Firered and Leafgreen.
Honestly, in a franchise of such amazing consistency as Pokemon, even the lesser games are great games on their own merit. I'd argue the weakest primary games are R/G and X/Y, but Lord knows they aren't bad games.
Man even Wulfric said it himself. I'm even a pushover, says a lot about this game's difficulty tho. X&Y was a let down due to how easy it went that route
I remember being pretty shocked when I first played X/Y because of the gap between getting the first and second gym badges. It wasn’t a bad thing at all, but I don’t remember another game that had that, at least for early gyms.
Hopefully when a Pokemon Z or something similar (Kalos sequel) comes out, developers will: -Buff up all the gym leaders' pokemon levels. +3 Levels for Viola until Ramos' Pokemon and +6 levels for Clemont until Wulfric's. -add a 4th pokemon for Ramos until Wulfric. -add a mega abomasnow for Wulfric. -give the leaders' ace Pokemon Sitrus Berries -Let leaders use potions at least 3 times in battle - make exp.share applicable for only one pokemon again.
I love the Exp Share the way its been since X & Y makes raising a team so much easier I have played since Red, Blue & Yellow and I love how easy the games are becoming I really enjoy them now.
People: *use exp. share, have game on switch instead of set mode* "Ugh the Kalos gym leaders are so easy! What pushovers!" No duh cause you're playing with the training wheels on.
If anything when people say older gens are harder its because its their first game or they are young and stupid so of course its hard but after that you understand it more so things get much more easy
Like it says in the book. Well, that’s true, but when rematching, I, in all honesty, thought they would be a different challenge, with different teams and sets of moves.
You can rebattle them in the Battle Chateau. Granted, their teams are still pretty weaksauce because they only use three Pokemon when they should have a full team of six (same for the Elite Four and Champion there too, especially Diantha since she had less Pokemon than she did at the League), but the option to rebattle them is still there.
I remember when everyone was excited seeing this to be the first 3d adventure pokemon game And no the one on gamecube isn't like x and y X and Y you actually have an adventure to the pokemon league battle, gym leaders, trade online etc. The gamecube one is very limited and completing the pokedex you have must have a physical copy of ruby or Sapphire to complete it
Fun fact: despite Gen 6 being essentially a beta for Gen 7 (seriously folks found the gym leaders forgettable yet what about the Team Flare admins?). It still had more post-game content that SwSh, think about it name one brand new location, dungeon or cave you get to visit after completing the SwSh story? Meanwhile post-game X/Y still had Mewtwo's cave, A town dedicated to competitive battling, Friend safaris, Zygarde's dungeon, Looker's side quest etc (despite the several locations you didn't get to visit in Kalos). Not trying to hate on Gen 8 or anything but those who call Gen 6 "barebones" just remember the first mainline 3DS Pokémon game was cheaper yet had way more content than the first mainline Switch Pokémon game (the same game that a large chunk of its assets can be traced back to Gen 6) some food for thought.
This wont be a standard 'They were too easy' comment i promise you (even though its true lol) but the Kalos Gyms were probably my favourite Gyms in terms of their character design and actual gym design, their theme is unique and has its on pacing, I wish more of them like Wulfric for example could've possessed a mega stone to show how native Mega Evolution was at the time of the XYZ Era, Sorta like what they did in Alola where a particular trainer possessed a particular typed Z crystal corresponding to their type.
I think it's the same voice actor and that also goes for Korrina and Amy Rose if you're watching the English dub (the latter two were both voiced by Lisa Ortiz)

Worst gym leader roster in the series, in my opinion. I honestly forgot most of their names until watching this again. So much more could've been done with these characters.
I've said it before, but the gym leaders were so easy... Such potential wasted. Korrina though was the most memorable of them all. Hope to see her in a future game as a Champion/Rival/Elite Four.
I highly disagree not only because there will most likely never be an x and y remake but because it would make no sense to include her over any other more recognizable character such as clemot
Out of these gym leaders, Olympia stands out the most, to me, followed by Valerie. I like their designs a whole lot. And I'll admit, Viola managed to body me when I started. Her -Surshit- Surskit and Siebold's Gyarados managed to sweep my teams. Fucking water/Bug type to counter my Fennekin... And this is coming from someone who heelstomp SM AND USUM without getting destroyed by anyone, not even Ultra Necrozma could put me down.
So I finally got this game last week and played it blind and I found it very easy, the gym battles disappointed me. After beating Korrina and getting the use of Mega evolving, I was thinking that the gym leaders after her would have the use of Mega evolving and it disappointed me that they didn't. Just made it much easier for us
I got really lucky with this game. A Japanese person traded me a Mega Charizard X, right before Korrina, and much more mega evolutions even before the post-game! Except for the time when I failed Mewtwo, and didn't save. At least I got Zygarde. Edit: Also, what starter did you choose at the beginning of the game? I chose Froakie.
The only way to get Surskit in X and Y without cheats and trades is by breeding Masquarain. She spent the time and effort to get a weaker Pokémon. I know it's for the Bug type's weaknesses but seriously?
If ANY games in the series needed enhanced versions it was X&Y, harder gyms (well harder trainers in general tbh) and EVERY mandatory trainer after unlocking Mega Evolution needed to have a Mega Evolution, but if I recall correctly the only trainers you encounter after you unlock Mega Evolution who actually have one are Lysandre and Diantha.
This is what Calem choose as a starter in Pokemon Generation and this is also what I choose before knowing Greninja. Chespin was the first Starter I choose
ik that this was from two years ago but i'm gonna respond anyway LMAO I think it's because Amaura has this ability called "Refridgerate" Refridgerate is an ability that that turns the user's normal-type moves into ice-type moves and also increases the attack by 1.3x. So if you have Take Down, a normal type move on a pokemon with that ability, it is now an Ice Type move and can probably hit other pokemon for super effective.
Does anyone else think Valerie looks like a younger version of Titania from Mahoutsukai no Yome? Now that I've seen that show I just can't get that image out of my head ... she's even the Fairy Type Gym Leader for crying out loud 😂😂😂 Thanks for another fun vid Mixeli =^_^=
Nintendo made this in order to talk about the aging population problem of Europe and since this pokemon game is based on france it could make sense .But hey that's just *MY* theory
I gotta be speaking the truth, I love Korrina. She's my favourite Gym Leader in Kalos because of her title 'Evolution Fighter'. Korrina is an awesome Fighting Type Gym Leader because she makes me feel entertained with Mega Evolution by battling her Lucario.
When i first played Pokemon X, (My first pokemon game) and got to Valerie, i thought that Sylveon she had was pretty, but it was NOTHING compared to MY Sylveon. I was like, “THERE CAN ONLY BE ONE SYLVEON!” And i one shotted hers. Next playthrough i had my same team, although i kinda regret it, cause i didnt want to fight my most Faithful team member, (Both in X and Omega Ruby) she was really helpful, and defeating her would make me guilty, and i didnt have heart scales and my lucario didnt know any steel moves except for Metal Sound, but at least my talonflame knew steel wing. I still regret it, but at least i was able to beat her.
Lê Nguyễn Gia Bảo Uh-oh! Nice difficulty ramp-up. Let me guess as to which mythical/legendary Pokémon each of these gym leaders will use... Viola -- Genesect (or Buzzwole/Pheromosa as of generation 7). Grant -- Regirock or Terrakion. Korrina -- Virizion, Terrakion, or Cobalion (or perhaps Keldeo...??)) Ramos -- Virizion if Korrina doesn't use it, but if taken, then probably Shaymin or Celebi. Clemont -- Zapdos, Raikou, Zekrom (or Tapu Koko/Zeraora as of generation 7). Valerie -- Very infinitesimal chance she DOESN'T use Xerneas. If she doesn't, one of the Tapu or Magearna in generation 7. Olympia -- Mewtwo. But she might pull out Solgaleo or Lunala, even Hoopa. Wulfric -- Articuno or Kyurem. Only ice legendaries I know of. If you wanna extend 'insane mode' to the elite 4: Wikstrom -- I can see Cobalion, Registeel, or Heatran. Malva -- Moltres (in place of Talonflame), or...gulp...Groudon (yes, very possible even though it's a ground legendary). Siebold -- Suicune, or...gulp...Kyogre. The latter will be a pain in most cases. Drasna -- Rayquaza probably, but Giratina is possible, so are Dialga, Palkia, Zygarde, Reshiram... Diantha -- wild card. Who knows what she picks...she might choose Arceus for all I know!!
It's a shame they all have so good design and could be memorable and good characters but the writing is so bad that I just remembered Olympia for her cool outfit If only xy remake could make them more useful
I feel bad for Ramos. He don’t be having a chance with me because I always had a Fletchinder so by the time I get to him, I have FLY so I be cheating. 🤣
