Also! since I see it's being asked, Necrozma, Solgaleo, and Lunala, were not included because while from ultra space and heavily implied to be ""ultra beasts"" they are not OFFICIALLY ultra beasts. Also they were in the Legendary Pokemon Battle Royale, so check them out there! What others would you like to see? And did you appreciate our mascot Snugooi making a cameo with me in the end of TerminalMontage's video?
Starter Battle Royale would be cool for the next one However, determining which (regular) Pokémon is the strongest of each Generation would also be neat
I second the Starter Battle Royale being a fun idea. Also, I believe that a "series mascot" fight could be interesting, featuring Pokemon like Poliwhirl, Clefairy, Pikachu, Charizard, Eevee, Lucario, Greninja, etc.
I didn't understand at first that Kartana tried to help Pheromosa, I initially assumed that Kartana performed a mercy kill to put her out of her misery.
I love that Poipole's adhesiveness and Nihilego's glassy composition were given focus, they're such cool little details! Gotta give props to Pheromosa spamming the pheromones to cheese the competition, even when it cost them a few limbs for it eventually.
See the funniest part of Jetstream Kartana is the fact that if there was indeed bloodshed, said blood would make the paper-like body of Kartana just become mush. Like what happens to a paper straw five seconds after you so much as touch it.
The paper-like parts of its body are, as i understand it, made of thin sheets of metal folded in a similar way to paper I could be very wrong, I’m not as familiar with Kartana as I should be, but if it is then it’d be fine getting blood on it (since it could just clean itself)
Fun fact, in the early days of Ultra Sun and Moon, of course with the new mons still being tested, they were all of course put into OU. Bad idea, as Naganadel's only counter in that tier and format was Heatran, who resisted both STABs and also trapped it. However if you didn't know, Naganadel has Nasty Plot, meaning it can even brute force a win against it by just setting up enough. I love this guy, not to mention its shiny is awesome. It even has one of my favorite moves, Fell Stinger, though of course not something it would ever use seriously as it's a special attacker.
Actually there was another counter - people used an Assault Vest Tyranitar set that, with the Sp. Def boost from sandstorm, was able to tank anything Naganadel could throw at it and KO it with Earthquake/chip it with Pursuit. But Naganadel was deemed too restrictive all the same
All I’m saying is Kartana can cut through time and space and make his own ultra wormholes. Combine that with being able to cut through anything, I think it should win 90% of the time
The only pokemon battle Royale that I can think of to come next would be a starter battle royale, Edit: ALRIGHT I GET THERE ARE BATTLE ROYALES THAT COULD HAPPEN
Oh yea, it's BST is 540. Which is a number you can see crop up with almost every fully evolved starter. But when you also see naganadel's beast boost actually boosts it's speed, it is tied with Blaziken with how broken it is.
I usually take these as %70 accurate and %30 jokes. Example here is during the gigantamax battle Centiskorch melting even tho it’s a fire type and even with its bug typing shouldn’t have melted.
Pokemon has so much untapped potential with the Ultra Beasts, at least with designs. But their worlds are where it's at for me, beautiful, vibrant and strange worlds. I sincerely hope we see more of them in the future.
Don't forget ultra megalopolis too. I was really hoping the anime would elaborate more on their dimension as well as the characters. The ultra beasts homes had so much story potential along with their extra abilities said by the pokedex.
Appreciate that you don't just explain what happens scene-by-scene, but also your reasoning for why certain pokemon did well overall in the fight. Another really fun Battle Royale!
Two bits of trivia! Celesteela being a bamboo ship is a reference to the story of Princess Kaguya, the Princess of the Moon who was found by a bamboo cutter. And Kartana's reversed lines in the anime "A worthess object! Again, I cut!" are a Lupin III reference; the samurai Goemon XIII's Zatetsuken sword was a sword that could cut anything (except seaweed jelly), and every time Goemon cut something he'd say "Once again, I've cut a worthless object." Some really deep... cuts... in here? Yes?
This video is the first one I got notified of instead of the TerminalMontage one. Made me realize I didn't ring the bell for TerminalMontage. So thanks for that, Lockstin.
Ah man, I can't wait for the inevitable 'Paradox Pokémon Battle Royale' a year or two after Scarlet and Violet come out. Probably after any DLC for the games come out to see if we get any more.
The Pokedex says that Pheromosa doesn't touch anything because it senses something unclean about the world. But then, wouldn't Buzzwole be exempt from that? Since it's not of this world.
@@couldntthinkofaname360 Plenty of bacteria in the desert too. Of course both instances are assuming that various parts of Ultra Space are completely walled off from one-another outside of gameplay and that they adhere to the same foundation that earth has.
I’m actually so glad Kartana made it to the final battle. Personally I feel like it’s one of the least popular Ultra Beasts (though it’s kinda understandable cus it’s 4x weak to fire). According to the Kartana’s official description, it can form tiny ultra wormholes by feverishly slicing into space & time itself, so that moment when Guzzlord devoured it was so funny cus I knew instantly it was gonna be sliced in half internally. I know that Naganadel _technically_ won, but that final kill slice basically secured Kartana’s victory in my opinion, albeit at a fatal cost. *Edit: I was clearly misinformed about Kartana’s popularity & usage in-game so thank y’all for clarifying that
Idk where you're getting that katana isn't popular, it's one of the top pokemon in competitive singles and has been consistently great in VGC as well, its fire weakness is hardly an issue since it cant stand a single special hit and is primarily an offensive mon in the first place.
The funny thing is, Kartana couldn't win for the exact reason of who it's opponent was. It can cut through anything, but you can't cut anything if your blade isn't moving. As long as the glue was only in front of the sword it could cut it, but the sides of a sword aren't sharp, and as such as soon as it cut into Naganadel's Stinger, which is full of glue, it lost, and it would have if it cut into Naganadel itself for the same reason. Even if it could cut Naganadel in half before the glue started to act, it would be forever stuck in place and die later.
I really enjoyed the The Snatcher reference in the Terminal Montage video when Nihilego possesses Pheromosa. It made me chuckle probably a bit more than it should. Also I just like seeing A Hat in Time get more recognition even in silly little references like that laugh.
I'm kinda disappointed that xurkitree never used its potential glass nuke of a special attack stat once. That would have been this magcargo scene in previous battle royale episodes.
If naganadels brain is on in its lower abdomen, shouldn’t it be at least a tie at the end considering it’s stinger tail was cut up? I’m not gonna lie I’m a little upset that paper boy didn’t win here
Yeah Kartana definitely reached Naganadel's abdomen before the explosion hit, that thing's brain got at least a little sliced. Naganadel definitely shouldn't have survived the abdomen cut AND its own random explosion.
@@massgunner4152 Think of it like Bugs Bunny putting his finger in Elmer's gun, except Bugs isn't immune to the explosion afterwards. Naganadel was already charging an attack, Kartana just rushed towards and inside that attack as it was released, eating it point blank.
Maybe Guzzlord’s the big bad for non-legendary Ultra Beasts in the anime, but in the games I’d say it’s a very close second to Nihilego, who really WAS the main antagonist of Sun and Moon.
This video left me in stitches! I also love how you can see Alola between Gen 4 regions (With Sinnoh being mostly visible) on the left and Unova on the right, just like Hawaii sits bettween Japan and USA!
I’m confused about Naganadel surviving the explosion of it’s stinger which is a new concept that you created as the body parts of Pokémon aren’t cut open in the games or anime, and also you said that Naganadel’s brain was near it’s stinger so the explosion should’ve destroyed it’s brain or just damage it enough to kill it. So the ending should’ve resulted in a draw.
Imagine stakataka separating one of its bricks from the legs. The surviving one brick then hits nagadel's head in the last moment, knocking it out and giving THE ONE BRICK the w.
This is amplified by the fact that unless naganadel’s glue strikes aren’t made of poison, they wouldn’t have an effect on kartana, due to its steel typing
on one hand they are hundreds of feet tall, on the other hand, the bigger they are the less active they are to conserve energy, simply making it a Guzzlord Feast.
@@mobgabriel1767 that’s true but what if it got to an energy plant like the regular xurkitree did and this is a battle royale so it would be going all out
It was kinda obvious that Ultra Beasts are considered aliens like Deoxys, but in a more dimensional invader setting. Naganadel managing to win against Kartana would make sense due to the former being a sp atk type with access to a fire move, since the latter is super fragile when it comes to range moves
After just finding the original Pokémon battle royal videos I was hoping that there would be more but wasn’t expecting it the next day! Since most of the Pokémon categories had been covered already I was unsure if any new ones would release. I can say waking up this morning to find these new videos made my day!
One thing i love about Buzzwole in this battle royale is that his flexing poses resemble the poses of the wrestler from Ringside in Rhythm Heaven Fever. Or at least they are similar to me.
Now I’m just wondering what would happen if the light trio was included as well in the royale, they are ultra beasts as well as legendaries. But to be honest, Necrozma would likely just annihilate everything
@@WindyWooshes Necrozma would've sucked in the sun, Lunala and Solgaleo and all it needs to do from there is wait til all the other Pokemon die a certain slow death
Didn't the legendary royale end in kind of a tie because Necrozma and Arceus were squaring off? I feel like if they were included here, Necrozma would just laser everything into oblivion.
@@Kahtisemo to be fair, they made necrozma way too strong relative to arceus all it absorbed was victini, lunala, solgaleo and the sun arceus can create the universe, is a top tier pokemon with only a tiny fragment of it, controls reality, decimates all the other god legendaries in anime, and has every type at once if only necrozma was included in this and not lunala and solgaleo it would actually be a good fight
Fun fact: You can configure Celesteela to be come basically unbeatable. Give it a Leftovers and the moves Ingrain, Protect, an attacking move, and a Defense-boosting move, and then stat into the following stats in order of priority: SpDef, HP, Def, and whichever stat its' attacking move uses. Every time you knock out something else with it, its' SpDef rises one stage, and every turn, Ingrain and Leftovers regenerate its' HP by a fair amount. And if you find yourself in a pinch, Protect buys you another turn to heal up. The only things you'll really have to worry about with this are things like Perish Song and other one-shotting effects.
@@Nosretep Which is why you have a ground-type on your team. Switch it in when your opponent sends Salazzle in, and make sure it has Arena Trap to ensure that that Salazzle is going to fall.
@@i_like_chomp6382 it’s probably the fiery looking explosion that killed it regardless And nagas resistance is probably the only reason it survived both the blast and having its tail being nearly bisected I would say
do you people not understand the video or what? These videos take in sources from MORE than just the games and their logic. In the anime we've seen Pokemon still get damaged by moves they are 'immune' to, like Pikachu shocking a Rhydon. JFC media literacy with Pokemon fans is actual gutter tier.
With Celesteela burning down forests... what happened in the show was that it would bury the engines in the soil so that when it takes off the fire doesn't ignite the bamboo forest; however Team Rocket unearthed Celesteela because they wanted to capture it which meant that if the launch went off it would cause the forest to burn down but the Ultra Guardians built a barrier to contain the blast so that it wouldn't burn down the forest. I know this because my mum loves Pokemon and we watch it together, good times :)
4:06 I feel like a Pokémon anime nerd for saying this this, but the reason why celesteela did not burn a forest down wasn’t because of choice, it’s because in the anime the main protagonist (Ash) and his friends built an icy barrier, thus preventing celesteela from burning down the forest. (Also on the topic of what I feel like for saying this, I’m pretty much the opposite of an anime nerd since I play video games instead, but I have seen the episode) Anyways, celesteela didn’t burn down that forest because there was a huge ice wall stopping it from doing so.
Fun fact: in vgc17 where celesteela was overused as a staller/leech seed recovery while attacking kartana was eventually used as a counter thanks to his huge attack stat, so kartana taking out celesteela actually make perfect sense as a vgc point of view (in the end people start running celesteela with flamethrower to melt the kartanas but those are some details)
I don’t know if this has been asked before but if Kartana can cut through anything according to the anime would it be able to cut Tyranitar who is, according to several pokédex entries, completely indestructible?
"We put in a lot of sci-fi references in this as much as we could" And I got *zero* of them (Guess what genre isn't my favourite hm?) But at least I got most of the attention to details, like Guzzlord screaming, Kartana being able to cut through *anything*, who it looks like when Buzzwhole sucks it's prey to become more swollen (plus the All Might easter egg) etc.
The amount of work you both put into these so they are accurate and extremely entertaining is always so wonderful! It makes me sad knowing one day you will have done them all. Till then wild and wonderful trips!
It still cracks me up that the sound Guzzlord makes, an Ultra Beast that *should* be terrifying as hell, is literally just a dude screaming at the top of his lungs in the anime.
The Necrozma, Solgaleo, and Lunala thing is a "it walks like a duck and talks like a duck but it's a goose" type of situation. They share many ties, origins, and abilities but aren't ultra beast; just legendaries.
I feel like naganadel is more so precise than accurate, it's not like they said that at that distance it can hit a target that's moving sporadically, or that it's attacks cover six miles so fast that they're impossible to dodge
I definitely like how the final video is unannounced Fun fact: in the anime, Kartana says the opposite "again I cut something worthless", alluding to Goemon from Lupine III
I know that some ultrabeasts are designed around opposites. Pheromosa, a cockroach, is usually associated with dirt and uncleanness. But make it the opposite and boom. Same with buzzwol, small weak mosquito? Nope, big buff mosquito. Don't know the deal about the other UBs tho
I think it's funny that, in addition to the head thing, both Naganadel and Blacephalon are resistant to poison. Both are special attackers, though, and neither of them learn physical ground moves that are the bane of Nihilego's existence.
As someone who once played competitively (though still refused to use legendary/mythic Pokemon even if they were low tier) and who still breeds semi-competitive teams to play in single player, I enjoyed the competitive tier-talk at the end.
My friend told me about a PKMN TCG deck that I proceeded to make. This was shortly after the Crimson Invasion Expansion. Guzzlord GX (X2) Dangereous Energy (X4) Basic Dark Energy (X54) Dirt cheap and hilariously good! I was hoping Guzzlord would take the W, but it is what it is.
As someone who has been with both Pokemon and Digimon since the very beginning I would confidently say the Cyber Sleuth games definitely would have been your best bet and I hope you play them in the future. The gameplay wouldn't be alien to a Pokemon player and the stories aren't bad at all with some nice funny moments.
6:50 you gotta say all the references like this undertale one edit also feramosa should have been beaten by buzzswole because it was beaten by bewear while using the same running circle into kick move
is nobody talking about the accidental Dangonrompa Reference with the crushed Naganadel leaving pink glue like blood? Also there’s a scraped garbage compactor execution in DRV3
I love that Poipole's adhesiveness and Nihilego's glassy composition were given focus, they're such cool little details! Gotta give props to Pheromosa spamming the pheromones to cheese the competition, even when it cost them a few limbs for it eventually.
