The PWT is one of the most brilliant ideas ever introduced. I mean, all those remakes of the older gym leader/champion themes! And you also get to fight all of them again. Just a wonderful plus point of B2W2.
Imo it's much a much better idea than the Battle Frontier. And I've spent countless hours on the Frontier in Platinum alone. Never understood why people don't give it more love. The remixes are especially amazing
The game’s accessibility is the problem, not the game itself. Honestly, coming from someone who can play it, it’s pretty goddamn nice to see these characters having actual depth given to them
I know it just a game...but holy cow this is awesome! I can feel the throbbing in my heart. It feels like it was real when i played it before. (idk how to english well :/)
Fun fact: Originally, You were gonna be able to put your BW1 Data (include team) in your BW2 game to face Hilbert/Hilda on the finals. So, basically: *THIS IS THEIR THEME* Edit: I didn't explain well the first time, i meant that they would be like the "final boss" on the champions tournament, since they are Unova champions. So, This song was pbbly meant for them
@KingDuck Dodo I don't know about putting BW data into B2W2 game, but the beta shows that both Hilbert and Hilda are named Hilbert and Hilda, not a placeholder. Many people believe they were actually going to appear physically at PWT and not by connecting to BW.
@@mrinfamous9862 Muhammad Hakim already said it. The beta showed Hilbert and Hilda as actual characters, not a "Player" placeholder like it was at the end. So, the beta basically said You were going to face Hilbert/Hilda in the game, most likely in the "Champions tournamet" on PWT.
B2w2 is the only good gen 5 game. Because you can catch good pokemon there. But Gen 5's soundtrack is unbeatable. Thats why its title music was used in the final main episode of XY&Z. Because Tokyo TV has Good Taste in music.
You were able to catch good Pokemon in Black and White, unless you want to say that some how there wasn't a single good Pokemon of the new 156 that was added
White 2 is my second favorite Pokemon game ever behind soul silver, and I still haven't played black or white so I will as soon as I can because I love games with good soundtracks
The chord progression follows the coltrane changes to a standard and with the drum fill being in triplets adds a sense of urgency and complexness that forces you to think outside of the box. it also brings a huge sense of motivation to the and completeness showing the hard effort you and your pokemon have gone through
They talk about an ice cream but don’t talk about how ekans is literally a purple snake with its name spelled backwards and how muks evolution changes nothing to it and it’s just a pile of slime
Man this gives me the chills even in 2023, I remember my first playthrough of black 2 an entering pwt. I was so hyped to find out you could battle previous region rivals/leaders. Wish modern Pokémon took notes , cause this is how you make a post game.
If they make a third chapter for both of these games, then I’m gonna be freaking out so badly. Maybe we will see cheren and Bianca grown up, with the juniper retired! And hey, maybe we’ll meet the past rivals in tournaments as the final boss! Or the black/white 2 main characters as champions! Either one would be good. But man, it’s be cool if they had a third game to add to black and white 2 as a nice little bow on top. Or the third game of the two could be a divergence from the first one, like an alternate universe where plasma wins and ghetsis is practically controlling people like the brainwashing leader he is. Damn, now I want an alternate game to the future of black/white now.
@@suspiciousfigure3096 WoW, I think that too!!! Imagine if N has a Reshiram and Ghetsis has a Zekrom. Or maybe if Team Plama has the Genesect's army. And, we could see the ORIGINAL DRAGON
Pokemon Y felt... rushed After gen 5 gave us character development and an actual reason of beating the champion instead of just ''BEIINZ ZA BEST'', gen 6 comes back to the old format, with ''be the very best'' and some enemy there just for the sake of it, character development is close to none, and the music is good, but nothing I would write home about like the previous pokemon games, of course, a lot of the budget went into making a 3D world, and they did it, pokemon y is a good game, whether pokemon y is superior/inferior all comes down to your personal preferences, I hope that after omega ruby, we will have another game like pokemon black/white 2, I know the chances of game freak listening to me are very small, but all I, and we have is just hope. Thanks for taking your time on reading this big ass comment.
hopefully they bring back the battle frontier, but even if they don't it seems like there will be atleast *some* postgame in oras in the form of revamped secret bases and contests
Lustranas Hoghedge pretty sure X/Y was a test to see what they can do with the pokemon games in 3DS and just added Kalos Region for the hype of pokemon coming to 3DS
2022 and im replaying White2, cause PWT was by far my favorite post game man, Gen 5 didn't deserve the hate, the game has a lot of amazing features!! I was nostalgic and this game brings me a lot of good memories :')
@@CoolyCools my first time beating the PWT was with a trick room team (doubles), eviolite dusclops, amoongus, heatran, scizor and/or thundurus. Trick room + spore is too strong, managed to beat the champions tournament after several tries, then you learn their sets and improve your teams and it becomes easier. Just try trick room (jellycent or cresselia are good for it) and you should beat all the tournaments.
BW2 is objectively better than BW in terms of raw content and music (considering that all the good old tracks are back). Rose tinted glasses though. BW is better in my heart lol
The last flash of true inspiration GameFreak/Nintendo had for the franchise. Everything afterward is just... by the book "give us your money" mentality
@@Auditor1337 most people I've seen consider Platinum thru B2W2 to be the golden age. GF released a new mainline game every year from 2009-2014 which encompasses Pt through ORAS & the end of Gen 6, so that logic doesn't really check out. It's clear the strain on the devs and the new philosophy moving from B2W2 -> XY were major parts of the decline in quality if you ask me, though.
I never understood why pokemon Gen 5 was considers the worse gen, Honestly it's one of the better gens. It game us a good storyline for pokemon(That isn't Pokemon Mystery Dungeon), Fast paced battles, A complex Antagonist(N), Great music. The only argument i really see people bring up to justify their crappy opinion is that "the designs suck, why does it have a garbage pokemon and an icecream pokemon LMAO"
I love how black and white and especially black and white 2 were love letters to all generations of 2D pokemon games. They spent more than a decade making these games and updated them with story, characters and gameplay that made the culmination of these pixelated pokemon games go out with a bang. I'm still blown away all these years later, thanks cousin for giving me pokemon black and white.
+redshades yeah no, those are all mostly laid back, this isn't, and it clearly has the sound and tempo of a battle theme(this isn't a question of opinion, but rather musical style)
Awful battle graphics, completely forgettable story, incredibly stupid characters, awful music, ugly Pokemons, and the game does absolutely nothing with its theme (duality of Reality and Ideals). The only reason they're not the worst Pokemon games is because Swsh exists.
PWT was the best after game battle area. Alot of people loved the Frontier but i never understood what i was doing in those areas mainly due to my age. The fucking maison i god awful boring. Gen 6 was the most god awful dissapointment of a gen ive ever experienced. Gen 7 is amazing, ive yet to try out the battle tree, BUt i dont think you beat rematching every regions gym leaders and champions.
Gen 6 is too god damn easy and its really hard to make a team using only kalos mons because how small the selction of good mons is. I never played gen 7 but i want to
You can battle Red, Blue, Wally, Anabel (Frontier Brain), Cynthia, Grimsley (Gen 5 e4), Colress, some Gen 6 people, and some trial captains in the battle tree. Also the difficulty in there is very hard.
quite a late comment but I really love the part at 1:08, its like a really intense battle and the tension keeps rising, everyone's watching, but then its like you let it all go and just have fun with the pokemon battle with the section that follows the buildup.
Can't wait for the Gen 5 remakes to feature a pier off of Driftveil City featuring a single sign with the words "The PWT Project has started!" written on it.
@@terrariaarmy508 Evil? Certainly. But let's be real here, Gamefreak would absolutely do that nowadays with how little they care about adding features the fans loved in the past.
0:14 *A intense felling of nostalgia fills the room* You can see your hand shake and your palms sweat , as you look in front , you can see a familiar face. *Hey lets battle just like the old times!* It was your rival that finally found you after many years... At the end...You two end up fighting... Just like the glorious *old times*
1:14 to 1:38 sounds a bit like parts of galars theme or at least one of the little melody’s used in some of gen 8’s music if so that’s quite genius in my opinion with unova and galar having some musical link due to the UK and United States relationship and also if I’m correct (I’m not from America) I believe New York what unova is based on I think is in New England
I was looking for this specific track, going entirely off of the bit from 0:44-0:56, and couldn't find it for YEARS. I'm glad I finally have, and it gives me hope I can find almost any piece of music I've heard.
Factually speaking, best Pokémon generation out of all of them. Opinion speaking, second favorite. Gen 5 is as close to a masterpiece as they come, a nice difficulty curve, great characters and story, and nice diverse selections of Pokémon. A fantastic generation with a fantastic garbage boy.
I always choose Triple/Rotation battles during the Champions tournament so I can fight everyone's full team. I'm getting goosebumps when Red is my final opponent and this song started playing.
1:14 - 1:38 i can hear Leon's Champion Theme around this part, and it's always amazes me how they could slip fire soundtracks into another fire soundtracks 🔥
I think that this music fits so well with one of my battles with the Kanto Tournament. I had a Volcarona that I transfered over, a Tangrowth, and my trusty Zoroark. It was my final battle versus Erika. She put my Tangrowth and Zoroark down with her Vileplume with petal dance, It was my Volcarona versus her Vileplume, Victreebell, and Vesusaur, all with full hp. The part at the very beginning where it sounds like a fast heartbeat really adds to the sense of urgency too.
Hearing this while battling Giovanni in the finals made me lose my shit back in 2013. He still yet to have his own theme back then and though this was used for your Finals opponent, this theme just gives that feel or atmosphere that should’ve been there when facing him in those Kanto games. It had a grand feeling while also reminding you that this is a high stakes battle and you have to make sure you’ll get out, winning.
I love having even field challenge matches in Pokemon games instead of just steamrolling everything. And you even get to fight familiar faces instead of some randos like in battle frontier. Definitely the pinnacle of a single player Pokemon experience.
how do you misspell effort as effect? Anyways, gen 6 took lots of effort too because they had to remake all 700+ pokemon into 3d models with not much time
@@GhostBrianlmfao they outsourced that to creatures Inc. It didn't took effort , it took more effort to make that substantial upgrade on the DS hardware from platinum to BW , they made 3D sprites for every single pokemon from last gen and introduced new ones while still being a substantial upgrade on platinum
Truth be told that part of the song blasted in my head at about hour 5 out of 6 total of my 5th try of an Engineering license exam. And I finally passed in that try!!
I love how there’s the og’s who have liked the games since they came out then there’s the genwunners who used to call the games shit jumping on the bandwagon acting like they always liked them
The only Pokèmon game that was able to give me chill while fighting NPC trainers. 3 Pokèmon, level 50, no items, only you vs the enemy trainer. And it was SO COOL. I need to rebuy White/Black2 again but it's pretty hard to find them anymore.
I gave my 450+ hour Black 2 cartridge to my cousin a while ago, but I might ask for it back soon! I recommend you play the Blaze Black 2 ROM by Drayano if you have some spare time. It’s a lot more challenging, and you can decide to catch all 649 PKMN in-game if you like, which is what I’ve recently taken to doing.
