I like to imagine that the character has, in fact, caught 'em all. But doesn't trust the PC so he carries all the pokemon on him in unlabeled pokeballs. Then when someone challenges him it's just like "Ah shit. Uuuuuh this one, these ones here, and let's go with these."
I calculated the chance at 6:36, In generation 3 there where 354 pokemon moves, so if we assume that metronome is 100% random then the chance of vicegrip being played 3 out of 4 times is 0.000008991%. So if you compare that to the chances of spawning a shiny in gen 3 which is 0.00012207% you have a bigger chance to actually find a shiny in the wild than to get vicegrip 3 out of 4 times with metronome.
But then if you think about it, the chance of playing any 3 random moves out of 4 is exactly the same, 0.00000891%, so is it really that special though?
@@prestongrice22 I mean if you did have a problem with that then you’d be a hypocrite wouldn’t you? Sense put your even later then them watching this XD
To be honest, he could've made it easier on himself. Pivot between Shuppet and Stantler: the former for the Tackle immunity and the latter for Intimidate. Do this rapidly until Poochyena runs out of Tackle PP, then send out King to destroy it with Tackles.
Reminds me of the first season anime episode with Ash’s Metapod vs some guy’s Kakuna. It was just yelling “HARDEN!” at their Mons for 5 minutes while Brock and Misty facepalmed.
3 million. But that's still incredible. (For anyone curious, the odds of the Chansey above are ((1/8092)*(0.05)*((1/31)*6)) which is equal to 0.000119%, or roughly 1 in 840,000. This event is 0.00002794%, or about 1 in 3 million.
@@kinggilgamesh875 I can't tell if you're kidding or not but I honestly wouldn't mind them doing that as an april fools thing, releasing the battle in the new art style.

How cool would it be if Ditto had a secret ability that did what this mod does, but just for it? It'd potentially make Ditto a viable Pokemon to use on one's team, instead of just a breeding slave.
@@suffering1901 fr, getting a buffed as hell pokémon with Imposter Ditto and beating the shit out of your opponent with them is one of the best feelings
@hhgregg parasonic blu ray 99 dollars I trolled people with a swagger Coffragigas, then I used a ditto once it fainted, with ditto w/scarf + imposter to sweep
If IV's and EV's are kept the same when the Pokemon randomizes itself, then that technically means that, whenever Ben turns into a Machoke, it'll always be shiny.
6:40 the game selects a pool of moves that can be chosen by metronome before every battle, so it's not out of every single move in the game. idk how many moves it chooses from tho. (I paused the video so if he ends up saying this later on my b lmao) edit: typos
Assuming every attack gets selected, the possible moves that could be choosen are 335. Now all you gotta do is cubing 1/355 to get 0.000000027. So the odds for vicegrip to happen 3 times, if all attacks can get selected, is 0.0000027%. BUT since disable was used once inbetween, you have to multiply the odds with 334/335. So the final odds for vicegrip to happen thrice in four metronomes, assuming all attacks can be choosen, is still 0.0000027%. I hope I didnt fuck my maths up
True as IQ only measures your knowledge and some pattern recognition skills mostly but according to multiple intelligence theory there are at least 7 different types of intelligence a person can belong to. It's like asking who is smarter a person who can do maths well or a person who is good at many different languages. We can't exactly compare them both can we?
Well no IQ tests don’t measure intelligence, they measure speed and accuracy of absorbing information. People with high IQ learn faster, but many factors go into overall “intelligence.”
bro you naming mudkip ben reminds me that I got my emerald as a gift of ebay which had been played already but was saved after the first battle and he chose torchic and named the character ben. I played through it and beat the elite four with just my blaziken. As an little kid, that was insane. And thats how my favorite pokemon is torchic

Also, some people come to the stream later and are usually curious for how long it has been going on. And as you see the vid here on youtube is edited down (thank god lmao), so its cool to see how long it actually took him
20 minutes is a spectrum, it could be a second or it could be thousands of hours or even farther. So when Ant states that it will take 20 minutes, it would take 20 minutes.
Imagine Zigzagoon being turned into Lugia, him whirlwinding the Ralts away thus crashing the game 'cause Wally doesn't have any mons. Yes, I know that he'll have it regardless.
btw, the reason you got Vicegrip 3 times is (at least in older games) Metronome has a randomly determined set of pretty few moves available every battle
I feel that Shuppet/Poochyena fight... I still remember getting my gift Munchlax just as gen 7 was released , pitting it against an early trainer Gastly, only for it to use mean look, and even though i had 4 moves, i could only potentially damage it with Metronome! The fight took over 20 minutes of me just HOPING for a damaging move, and even though i got a few, it wasn't enough to knock it out...
I wish I watched your stream. If you uploaded an unedited vod of you playing this I would totally watch it. Your pokemon vids are what got me to subscribe and this concept is super interesting
I honestly had never heard of you before yesterday, and I haven’t been too much into pokemon recently, but as soon as I saw this series on your channel I haven’t been able to stop watching. This is seriously the most interesting RU-vid series I’ve ever seen since Content Cop. Literally binged every one of these videos in the past 24 hours and I cannot stop
By the way, regarding IQ tests: Even professional, "accurate" IQ tests become only like 80% accurate above 100 IQ, and are only about 30% accurate above 130 IQ, because it is _really hard_ to judge high intelligence, because highly intelligent people often _lowball_ their own intelligence. I had to take one as a teenager, and the guys who performed the tests - who were psychologists with diploma and all! - told me that. IQ tests aren't really designed to tell you how intelligent you are above 100 IQ anymore, they're more for judging what category you fall into, below 100, around 100, or above 100. It matters a lot how low you score if you score low, but it doesn't matter how high you score - it's good for you in any case!
Iq only measures your ability to calculate higher iq means you can do things like math faster it also affects your abillity to think ahead (stratagy wise) which you use for chest and stuff
ye its arbitrary information tailored for white middle class people to do well in. idk whether it was intentional or not, things like that usually are, but I would guess the creators whoever they are just had a biased idea of what intelligence is and didn't realized it was hella racist
@@ajaxmajorI have no idea why it would be racist. I don't think people usually get into colleges/jobs because their IQ score is high, often it's not even asked for. Just seems like baseless conjecture to me.
If you consider that using Metronome you have 1/354 chance to get Vicegrip in gen 3, getting that same move 3 times out of 4 in a single battle is around 0.001832% (thanks to ChatGPT for calculating this). In comparison, the base chance to encounter a shiny in gen 3 is 1/8192, so around 0.012207%. In other words, the situation SmallAnt encountered is around 10 times rarer than meeting a shiny pokemon 🤯
@@LAM1895 unfortunately ChatGPT always seems to miscalculate stuff like that, using the Binomial theorem it is 0.000008991% if it is completely random each time, which is insane
that battle reminded me of: bug catcher: metapod, use harden! ash: metapod, use harden! bug catcher: metapod, use harden! ash: metapod, use harden! bug catcher: metapod, use harden! ash: metapod, use harden!
SOMEONE SAID IT. I WAS THINKING THAT THE ENTIRE TIME. LIKE "this is the metapod battle and nobody is saying anything tHESE FREAKS AREN'T SAYING ANYTHING"
The thing with the Wallie fight is when "your" Pokemon dies the game get stucked. You get asked to select another Pokemon but it wont work since Wallie dont have any and yes its possibel if you get a Sheinja and the enemy has Rough Skin, happend to me in a randomizer Run xD
