HOLD IT! The lava around Groudon is closer to red. On top of that, he should have been able to have made the connection that the blue orb would be associated with the legendary that lives in the ocean.
Man I'm shocked that you didn't use Thunderclap in this game. For those of you don't know, this game came out before the Gen 9 DLC so Thunderclap in BE is essentially Electric Type E Speed and it makes dealing with most Water and Flying types ridiculously easy. Moop could've also gotten Tentacool in Dewford by fishing as well.

Have you played Pokemon Fools Gold? Its very similar to this but in GSC, and they added the Sevii Islands too. Basically every pokemon has a new type and design to match. Example is Chikorita is now a fighting type and it's head leaf is replaced with a nunchuck. And Cyndaquil is an ice type with ice spikes instead of fire spikes
